i realized why they are my favourite band, my favourite hammond organ player and singer...Gregg Allman, my favourite bassist....Berry Oakley, my two favourite drummers....J J johnson an Butch Trucks, and my two favourite guitarists.....Duane Allman an Dickey Betts......in or out of this band, they still are, just in this band.....is what i hope my soul would sound like an so i hope to make music like this.....soon......
done somebody wrong is the greatest jam ever, this one right here. .. none of you even knows it, its a shame... camera has the correct soloists, very nice..!!thank you so much!
dude, ive watched this myself over 8,000 times......wtf?? all the crap on youtube gets scattered 2 cabillion times but this viseo has only been seen 4,000?? gtthfckoutahrrrrr!!!!!
looking and listening beyond the poor sound quality is a great turn at watching duane play rythm for an extended period, which is unique among these great videos, thanks very much jbow and evreybody else, and thanks especially to the Allmans, all of em.
It's crazy how it really was the Greg and Duane out front with a back-up band... I mean, Betts and co. are like a distant semi circle facing them... Duane is god..
it's cuz the keyboard player and lead players traditionally signal the rest of the band as to when to come in, take a turn jammin' or get ready for the end of the song or do another chorus...start watching for the signals and you'll see them.
I still feel so very fortunate that I got to see all these Allman Brothers Bamnd performances....actually learned quite a bit from seeing who was doing what...but certainley the best christmas present I have got in many decades..thank you jbow
Perfect front focus on Duane!!!!

look here, what duane did was hit the spot between blues playing and western swing/appalacian/countrymusic, not to exclude bossa-nova, and jazz..

about 12:16, Duane leaves room for dicky or the horn player to do some fills, but they don't take it.
