I had this phone with sprint...Gotta admit it was a great phone. Great hardware. Now im with verizon rockin a droid incredible...check out my vid comparison between the two (beware, weird vid) I managed to sell the Hero last month for $80 because it was in mint cond...Droid is awesome but build quality on Hero is actually better. Like a little Nexus One!

only thing hero has on droid is the bigger battery (thru specs not real world cuz droid lasts longer than hero) and sense ui...droid is much faster, has keyboard better camera and isnt sluggish than hero..smh

The only thing I like on the Hero/Droid Eris is the Sense UI, I kinda wish Droid wasnt a vanilla build of Android, but it is faster than the Hero/Eris after playing with both at the store.

The droid doesnt do dvd quality video (close but not quite there), it doesn't do multitouch for the web (that's the only place it really matters), and the here doesn't have Android 2.0 update yet. Unlike some who get all there info off the web or are just fanboys I have both of them

I love the trackball, multitouch, and flash support on the hero. Mt and flash are both coming to the droid I think. Droid is 2.0 but hero will be updating. There are no real problems with either phone but I prefer the droid slightly because of the keyboard, although I hate the placement of the little dpad

The camera works better on the hero. thats after uploading them and viewing on my laptop because looking at them on the phone the screen is just so much better on the droid it wasnt a fair comparison. hero's not bad but the droid has the best screen of any phone

Also the sense ui is better than the basic android homescreen given to you on the droid. Plus the 7 screens for adding apps, widgets, and shortcuts is better than the 3 on droid. But i strongly prefer the physical keyboard.

Ive tried both and I love them both. It comes down to the network. I am a truck driver so I need service all over and not just at home. Vz has slightly better service but drops more of my calls. Sprint is faster but not available in some rural areas.

Sprint is terrible where i live and where i work.. Nothing against the Hero i really like the phone, but i would rather have the Driod on Verizon because of the far better coverage. Too bad Verizon almost wants to take your soul just to have the simple smartphone plan. I get a 25% discount with sprint and pay $125 for two phones with everything I would pay close to $200 after taxes with Verizon because i dont get any discount with them and it would be a basic plan. So yeah, why get the driod?

i can say it because HTC products are far more advanced than motorolla - just goto their website and see for yourself. furthermore, the hero runs 2.0 just like the droid. i get the updates through my phone. that being said, i've seen the droid and its kinda whack and i dont use keyboards, there somewhat obsolete

I've been using android since day 1 on T-Mobile. I tried out the Droid and Droid Eris at the Verizon store 5 days before they launched. I love android and I love this video. The more the android the better. I was originally going to jump to Verizon to get the Droid, but I ACTUALLY liked the Droid Eris better. I might wait for the HTC Dragon/Passion though that is rumored to come out at the end of this month. Great time for android!!

Only half the towers, but if you're one who doesn't travel much it's no problemo! Also, you should no that the "no roaming" that Verizon gives you, isn't really no roaming haha.

They way they touted this plan was that you wouldn't get overages for roaming any more.. and they were right, they disabled access to towers you would have normally roamed on to if you needed them. So, a bit less coverage, but no roaming fees.

But VZW's network is so big you don't really need to roam lol

that depends on where you live really, I have a personal Verizon phone here in Vegas and had a sprint blackberry for work, the blackberry pwnd my Verizon phone. In Colorado springs it was the exact opposite, in fact i dropped sprint there for Verizon. I however would now live with a few dropped calls for much much cheaper prices on phones and service.

It really doesn't lmao. I could care less about flash. My last 3 smartphones didn't have flash. And the flash on my Mogul was more like a flashlight and didn't do shit for me. Why would they make two of the same devices, except one with a flash, and put the same price on it? The one without flash would be cheaper and that would be the one I'd get smh.

A Motorola Phone....with HTC (key word) Sense. And the Droid is ugly, regardless of the processor and flash on a camera. That's what my digital camera is for. Keyboard is a preference because I don't like hardware keyboards. Everyone doesn't want a huge screen. Far from laggy for me. I love my Hero. <3

Yea you're right. I should definitely carry around a paper phone book and a 15 inch laptop everywhere I go and I'll be able to get internet no matter where I'm at. Great point you made, awesome. 'Cause my digital camera definitely doesn't fit in my pocket and produce better quality pics then a cell phone. Flash is definitely not enough to keep me from liking a phone, so I don't see it as an advantage, and no, it doesn't make a difference.
