No offense, because I really like Dethklok, too... But they're drummer honestly isn't that great... Brann Dailor is an amazing drummer as well, don't get me wrong... One of my favorite drummers as well, easily.. But Neal Peart is probably the best drummer alive, and Mike Portnoy is really good, as well.

Well that may be my hang-ups about him, because I'm not a huge fan of Metal drummers... Which is why I like Brann, because he's not per say a "Metal" drummer, at least not in the normal sense. I'm just not a huge fan of the bass drum in the entire song, sort of deal, however I can respect those who do, and the drummers themselves. Just not my favored style of drumming ;)

On the other hand, metalcore and deathcore bands have a life span of about like 3 to 5 years, then they start to go downhill, losing members or stopping existing at all. that's because they run out of riffs to steal, they're not real musicians, committed to their work.

first of all, i didnt say gematria was heavy, i was using that song as an example that they're not turning SOFT. Slipknot has never really been extremely heavy anyway. i am a huge fan and i can safely say that they have a lot of soft rock now, but are not turning soft. i know that all those bands are heavier than SK, but to me SK just blows those bands away not in terms of how heavy they are but musically wise
