I spent ages on the net deciding on a new phone (had a Sony, was rubbish). Decided to go look in person and ended up falling for this. My wife has the E71 (qwerty kboard and can edit docs, this only views). Already have Garmin installed for GPS, works great, didn't even try Nokia maps. Build quality is superb, so far I'm loving it, though camera really only for daytime snaps. Regards battery, was half dead when I got it, played with it all day before finally died late at night. Can't complain!

Can you get word, excel and powerpoint on a phone? I know some phones use Windows mobile which would be the most likely to feature those but Nokia has the Symbian operating system... This is a very good phone especially with it's wifi - cheap calls, free internet at a hotspot, but the camera isn't as good as N95 - 5mp vs 3.2mp and the flash is led which makes the picture 'noisy' in low light conditions, xenon flash is what's needed for photography.

Can you comment on battery life? This is a great phone, well built, easy to use as the navigation key is way bigger than on E51. The slide is also great, actually everything is like it should be, this phone has more overall quality than most Nokia phones! But the battery is the only thing that's keeping me from buying it. Ppl say batt life is way lower than E51. Lasts 1 day with regular use, 2 days max on standby! Can you confirm that??

What do you mean by "more powerful"? It has a bigger display and built-in GPS that you don't have to use. That's the main difference AFAIK. With bigger display, it should come with bigger batt capacity, i don't understand why Nokia keeps on doing this.

i have bought this phone a couple of days ago, and i gotta tell ya, being a LOYAL nokia consumer ever since i started using CellPhones, this is by far the classiest and the most Luxury Nokia i have ever bought thats packed with LOADs of feature. N82 looks cheap infront of it. this lady i met at applebee's was like "excuse me but can i have a look at your cellfone, is that a NOKIA?" so yes it is a conversation starter too ;)

It's about the same when you disable some of the aplications that may (or may not) come with the device. The standby should be around 4 days.

T-mobile branded phones usually last about one day, but there's plenty of info on how to fix that on various forums.

You can easily fix the slider if it is too soft for you or to avoid to open it in pockets. Just turn the screws under the battery case.

Are you serious? The screw was meant to loosen/tighten the sliding mechanism? This is the first slider that I've seen that has that.

super review, one of the best I have ever seen of E66. I didn't know that it supports tapping function like the new 6600 slide and fold phones. That is awesome - you can mute and after reject a call with double tapping and also sleeping mode :) Anyway, this phone looks great and it is slim. I do not really like symbian phones - probably because of the speed but as I see this phone is pretty fast instead...

Anyway, the WiFi is a good stuff - is is possible to install software which uses Skype?

Yes, you can use Fring which integrates with Skype, MSN and so on. Fring will work over Wifi or 3G on these phones.
