  • Who's the douche that disliked this video?

  • he is not 100 years old good only knows how old he is he's the kind of old geezer you see down the pub who's mouth runs off and everyone ever ignores, takes the piss out of or indulges. Somehow this liar has become a spokesman for the ederly in so far as all old gents should aspire to nothing else other than drinking and smoking to reach one hundred. He is a fraud and must be in his seventies. He sould have been ashamed of himself claiming that he had run those marathons when he had walked them.

  • @iamagnu yeah he is 100yrs old and he just died in april at 102.

  • @michaeljohn82 the man was a liar he couldn't produce a birth certificate

  • i hope i'm that good looking if I turn 100

  • Charlie Mullins the manager of Pimlico Plumbers should be ashamed of exploiting this man who was obviously very vulnerable and lonely

  • I read some articles saying he couldn't verify his age and Guiness don't recognise his marathon attempt either.

  • May he rest in peace. With the greatest respect, does anybody actually think the unverified age is accurate? With no family contact to confirm? No papers? Isn't that all a bit "convenient?" As one who spends significant time professionally with the elderly, he doesn't strike me as anything like the age he's represented as. Maybe he just has "the" secret!

  • R.I.P

  • my mother was his warden and she found him dead, I just recieved a phone call from my dad letting me know he passed away today.... R.I.P Buster ol boy.

  • @markhorneyuk do u know how he died. i heard he smoked a lot.

  • @scotty3861 , more like drank alot...... pops just said mum found him after doing the resident checks, when he didn't answer, she called careline to see if he was in hospital but there was no notification that he had been taken, so she went to check on him, I have to ask him on tommorow or saturday when I see him on how he died, don't know if there was a postmorten.

  • @markhorneyuk, oh he wasn't a alcoholic, he just like to drink a bit, he even had his own beer.

  • @markhorneyuk yeah i heard he loved his beer. i was fond of him and i saw him when he ran the marathon on 2008. i think he was a great man and i hope his friends and family are ok and my sympathy is with them thanks for letting me know.

  • @scotty3861 , he doesn't have any contact to any of his family, but they will try and find his next of kin, hope he filled in his census, mum is really upset about this though, she normally has to deal with this all the time when people pass away in their flats, it's her job and buster was one in a million, he was a pain in the backside a bit, especially at night when he came home drunk in his wheel chair, but he was special.

  • For the wheelchair reason I believe, was because of the accident that he had some time ago with his tricycle coming back from the pub near streatham, funny enough, I was first to know about this as I picking a friend up from work there (swear to god), at that time i didn't he was giving tricycle, I went pass him reliesing it was him and nearly crashing in to the car in front, I told officers who he was and told my mum what happend, the tricycle ended upside down, HOW HE DID THAT I DO NOT KNOW.

  • I think he was pissed (Drunk), he was not one for taking advice, especially when he was told not to drink to much and cycle.

  • @markhorneyuk i remember when he did the marathon he stopped for a beer.

  • @markhorneyuk yeah my aunt works in care and most of the residents who live in the flats are ill or in poor physical health so she has a hard job too. i didnt know buster used a wheelchair

  • @scotty3861 , I found out a little more, dad and I went to pc world to get a new laptop, I asked him how did mum find him, he said she just found him dead in his wheelchair, that's it, he had something also which a nother resident had, I can't remember what he told me what it was, but he refused take the medication for it, because if he took it, it ment that he had to stop drinking, so he was injected with something alternative.

  • @markhorneyuk thats a shame he didnt take the medication. he looked so fit for his age. and its good that he kept working and kept going. thanks for letting me know

  • @scotty3861 , just to let you know, my dad posted the date of busters funeral, it is on the 5th May and was told the founder of Pimlico Plumbers will be paying for it, expect the publicity in the news soon.

  • @markhorneyuk thanks for letting me know i hope he has a good send off

  • Man RIP Buster.

  • r.i.p buster martin - you were a great man </3

  • i wonder if its legit

  • are you kidding me...this would be crazy being that old...all your friends would be long gone...wow...amazing...age is a state of mind

  • This guy looks amazingly young at 100!

  • Obama isn't the only one from whom we need to see a birth certificate. The bookie wouldn't pay off without seeing one.

  • Comment removed

  • I wonder if this guy still gets pussy

  • What's even more important in my mind is quality of life rather than duration.

  • Uncle Albert :p

  • Buster doesn't even look like a 100 year old man. you may think he's about in his 70s the most

  • "I was celebrating me birthday" ROFL

  • that's incredible, he looks like he's 60 not 100... such an inspiration.

  • He looks incredible for 100, who knows he may break the record. =)

  • Amazing..

  • @seanGthegodcharged51 thats what i said!!!!!

  • my grandfather was 220 years old, but people didn't believe him, he was born in 1790

  • Yeah ... This conveys a deep truth ... If you worry all your life that e.g. orange slices are bad for you (or a beer, or a cig...) then they probably will be... But why carry wood into the forrest? Buster is the oldest man ever to run a marathon ... Anyone who can run a marathon can celebrate with a pint and a smoke... Cheers.

  • Remember this is a one in 10's of millions case. How many other smoking, heavy drinking 100 year old's are there? He was a fitness instructor for many many years and has a stress averse personality + rolls royce genes. I think the fact that he gets a lot of pleasure out of these little things helps.

But don't take up smoking because of this!!!!

  • @RuniToconillo why would orange slices be bad for you? Its just fruit

  • Haha, he's a tough old bugger! He would probably make 200 if he never smoked!

  • This guy looks like he could be 65 years old

  • its not god that let him live to this age, its that he has good genes

    its all about genetics guys

  • not really attitude is a big factor too, not 2 say that genetics hav no effect

  • but to make him look like this at 103

    thats genetics

    he looks like 80

  • lol im 19 and i look about 14

  • lmao, thats not the same thing lol

  • Legend!

  • he looks 55...

  • I'd like to have a beer and a smoke with him.

  • @rekar1 Likewise

  • The most reknowned non smoking tea total vegetarian was a guy from Austria called A.Hitler.

  • he only looks about 70!

  • I can assure you no documents ( genuine ) exist of any marriage in 1920 re Buster Martin.

Mr Martin is now 95 years of age.

If you check the police records at Camberwell Green the situation where he was apparently mugged was as per Mr Martins normal way, again it was another lie.

  • @mhc635 he must be very old if he said he's been drinking since 1913

  • Obviously this gentleman won the DNA lottery.

  • well not really, yes that has SOMETHINg 2 so with it but they've done studies to show that attitude is much more significant e.g. some people get stressed all the time over nothing whereas others hav learnt to relax and enjoy life much better

  • i think it's mostly genes but attitude definately comes into play i believe, as u can tell he's self reliant and tenatious

  • could be othert factors

  • Guys whatever age he is , which looks at least over 85 .

He deserves respect , give him a fucking break will you. Respect to the man.

  • he is at least 95

  • He was married in 1920 at the age of 14 in France. Personally the fact that it is documented and proved that he was married in 1920 (at the age of 14) is what makes me believe it)

  • he's not 100 years old dumbass

  • Actually, he is.

  • look him up dumbass

  • isnt dumbass a delightful phrase

  • What are you talking about all i'm saying is there are documents that prove he was married in 1920 at the age of 14

  • well, im sure your very proud of that, but all i was saying was how i enjoyed your use of that phrase

  • he drinks, smokes, and doesn't even drink water. how is it possible that he could even live to be 101 AND complete a marathon?! this truly has to be one of the great anomalies.

  • i don't think he's really that age

  • Please Please Please can someone put buster in the next lock stock, snatch, english gangster movie, give him a role where he runs the shit. brilliant haha

  • Buster Martin is my hero. He completed the London Marathon this year. Respect.

  • Imagine if this man lived 200 years!

  • WILL HE BALLS

BUT it wud b wierd if he did lol

  • @AlexDCl sure looks like he will

  • he helps old people & even if he is exploited cos he is not aware of what he should be entitled to !he is not a bad person!& the generation clip is good for older people !too bad he is afraid to lose his retirement plan which is peanuts & dont realize he can make so much money & dump the retirement plans !so he is happy working & obviously dont care about money for himself !all he makes as extra will go to funds to help others like him !long life to you Buster

  • Idiot??He WANTS to work,no one will kill him if he refuses.

I don't know, what is the problem with you.

  • My problem is that great people like Einstien die young, old acloholics live past 100.

  • 1.Einstein lived about 76 years-not too young,must I say.

2.Buster is not an alcoholic,he just like drinking beer.Alcoholic more often live about 50-60.Check the russian average age of death-58 years for man, much of this because of alcoholism, smokying and bad medicine, ecology, stresses.

3.Our kabbalist Rebbe Kaduri lived 107 years and was a clever man on his issue-Kabbalah.He also smoked at least until 95.

    4.Bertran Russel,Mark Chagal,Pablo Kazals-lived 96-7 years.

    See no connections...

  • Einstein smoked and drank, so shut up.

  • he got drunk ,fell, and whent home but that doesn't sound good so he said heg got mugged and fought them off...come on don't be a silly old man

  • Come on people, those hands are not 100 or 101 years old.

  • see the documentary the oldest people, broadcast by the bcc

  • i cant understand anything he says is too low the audio. Only can listen the camera man :(

  • Incredible !

  • I don't think he's bullshitting about his age. He kept on his toes, mentally and physically, he never went into the "old" trip, and that's the result! Good for him I'd say, and for us in our 40ies who feel like embryos because of him and the great example he sets!

  • hes 4 real.

  • I think it's the fact that there's a change in lifestyle when you start smoking thats bad for you. He's been smoking since he was 7 years old (so he says) so if he stopped now after 93 years the shock to his system would probably be so severe he would die or have some sort of nervous breakdown!

  • Of course smoking's bad, but so is lots of other things that people do, like speeding and running red lights. But no body cares about that since so many people do it.

  • What's with the West Country accent when he gets going?

  • "I like me smokes...I like me beer" LOVE IT lol

  • wow smoking since he was 7. The interviewer is kind of a dork isn't he.

  • ...I have slept... long enough for one day... I have slept enough... for a eternity... I thank you... if you hadn't showed up, I would've slept forever... Now, spirits, grant me the strength to finish this... one... final prey... Can you hear me, Snake? I am the End! I am here to send you to your ultimate fate...

  • dam he looks 50 i bet when hes 200 he will look 100 lol

  • dam he looks 50 i bet when hes 200 he will look 100 lol

  • dam he looks 50 i bet when hes 200 he will look 100 lol

  • The time he was attack was the first I heard of this guy, and being a massive fight enthusiast I had immediate respect for the guy, but what made me truly respect him was when I saw him in a recent documentary about the worlds oldest people.

All of them except for him just seemed to be sad sights who were clearly just waiting for the end, they were being spoken to and treated like children, but not Buster, my favorite part was:

  • Interviewer- "So...Do you like working then?" *speaking to him like a child*

Buster- "Well, If I didn't, I wouldn't be bloody doin' it would I"?

  • Good one!

As for most of them looking sad sights, ever hear of the American bodybuilder and fitness freak Jack Lalanne? He is 94... and is probably the only person about whom I can honestly say I'll be surprised if he doesn't make 100. Look him up on youtube or wikipedia.

  • wikipedia says he's 102...

  • I'm fairly certain it's his mental habits ( which are underated for providing vitality ) the way you react to emotions + how u percieve the world, very negatively or positively, directly effects ur immune system + heart etc, therefore ur longevity. Of course exercising + having many friends positivily effects ur lifespan aswell.

  • Absolutely agree. I have 2 great aunts, 105 and 106, and they go to concerts! They own a hotel and live in it, so they get well looked after, but they go around up and down 3 flights of stairs, not in the very posh lift, and run fingers in white gloves over everything looking for dust! Mental attitude and having a reason to get up in the morning is everything! Totally agree with you, greenlightbabe.

  • Clearly it's genetic thing for buster, he is very lucky to get away with smoking all those years with no apparent damage except for a little lung problem. I also have no doubt that if he didn't smoke he would probably have looked even better and been more healthier. Seen him on doctor doctor on channel 5 this morning and still seemed well... He'll be 101 very soon.

  • There are lots of people that smoke well in to their 70's and 80's with no effect. My grandmother lived to be 89 and smoked a pack of Virginia Slims every day. I know smoking is bad, but I think people have made it out to be a lot worse then it really is. It think it's got more to do with the left wing "Get big business" attitude then it does facts.

  • 11000 people die every day from smoking related illnesses. Pretty bad!

  • A lot of these number that deal with smoking deaths are skewed. If you die of cancer and a member of your immediate family smokes that is considered a smoking death according to some stat makers.

  • Exactly. The propaganda is heavy when it comes to smoking.

  • Watch the propaganda. "Smoking related" only means that smoking causes it or can. It doesn't mean it DID cause it.

  • Buster certainly has remarkable ability to dampen the negative effects of smoking. However that doesn't mean it has 'no effect' on his health at all. If he didn't smoke maybe he would reach 130 years or so. We don't know! Smoking is 100% bad, there is no questions about it. The body cannot protect totally against the toxins from it. So damage is still being done, just a lot less than it would do to a normal person. I hope buster beats the 122 year record!

    Go buster!

  • Buster is amazing. I have seen people forty years younger than him not in as good of shape. He started smoking in 1913? He would have been 7. Wow.

  • Rock on Buster.....

  • Thanks for your comment - appreciated. Right about the sound - it's not your American ears! I will be purchasing a direction mic for the future. I have more footage of Buster which I will edit very soon. There are some real insights from the man which are eye opening!

  • @deuangerman boy he looks very well for his age at time of recording, thanks gov'nor ;) i am an american but my family history traces to england

  • Very interesting and well-conducted interview. They should get a sample of Buster's DNA!

Wasn't able to understand 100% of dialog though. Could just be my American ears, but seems like a directional mic w/b a good idea.
