Stef, in your Joe Stack "impact of error" video, you referred to Tea Party people as "tea baggers" (an insulting term), and made clear that you think Washington was just as thuggish and corrupt as the worst greedy Statist. In other words, your speech made clear that to you, there is no difference between limited government people, and the worst of the Big Government Statists. So why do you appear to endorse Badnarik here? According to your p.o.v., he's just another thuggish Statist, right?
@mju34 Because we are liberals. Real Ones. I support many things that the "Tea Parties" stand for like a restoration of Constitutional Government and a reduction in size of the Government but they are caught in their NeoCon agenda which includes pre-emptive wars against sovereign nations and support of Torture and other war crimes. They think the government will be just fine if they an just regain GOP control of Congress and the White House. What rubes!...
what about looking at the causes of the early deaths of say the 26 yr old football player. imo, although we do not know when our time is, i think there are indications that can gauge our span, outside of accidental deaths. how about mr. banarik's emotional health?
Health is just far too important, in fact it's almost everything! I recommend Ray Kurzweil's books about how to maximize lifespan to live long enough to reach the point when biotechnology and computers are capable of greatly extending lifespan. They can already make some organs w/ our own cells to exchange with our run down ones. It's something everyone should look into, to good health!
Ray Kurzweil advocated a high-protein diet. Unfortunately, a high-protein diet is poisonous to the body and lowers metabolism. What one should eat is a high-fat, high-calorie diet that's low in sugar and polyunsaturated vegetable oils. Eat lots of saturated fat (saturated fat actually doesn't cause heart disease; it's caused by excessive polyunsaturated fat and sugar).
@municipalmutualist Right. That's why a billion Indians live perfectly fine for 90 years not eating anything but lean chicken and fish and vegetables. Man, what rubbish.
@municipalmutualist What do you think of Paleolithic Diet, is the problem with high-protein toxicity due to protein itself, or modern factory farm raised meat? They claim we need more Omega 3, ideally in a 1:1 proportion to Omega 6, which would match the diet from that era when we reached our modern genetic state. Are we agreed of some good foods: salmon, avocados, nuts, berries, olive oil, yogurt, water... which foods are good that follow the criteria you recommend?
You're right that lots of people have their omega's way out of proportion. But too much omega-3 or omega-6, regardless of the proportion, is harmful to your health. These fats are highly unstable, and can become quickly rancid within the body. So the ideal solution is to limit omega-6 instead of increasing omega-3.
Anyways, I agree that extra virgin olive and avocado oils are much better than the omega-6 fats. But they still contain a fairly large amount of omega-6. Coconut oil is better.
@snipa4lyfe: I have read Fantastic Voyage. He recommended a fairly high amount of lean meats, and very little fats (especially saturated fat). He also advised us to limit carbohydrates. So I concluded that he wants most of our calories from protein.
The ideal amount of protein that one should eat should be in the range of 10% to 20% of total calories. Even Eskimos eat only 20% of their calories as protein. Protein requires too much energy to digest, and is hard on the kidneys.
@Trandofir Absolutely, and the expense of trying the 4th time is minimal. Almost might be wise, if there's any function for tattoos, to get one on your chest saying "In case of emergency, do whatever you must to keep me alive, I will reward you handsomely", or something to the same effect. Also, this shows how important it is to be in the company of highly capable people (the CPR-trained guys). It's in our interest not only as individuals but as a nation to have more able bodied/minded people.
These are the good guys.

You should listen to the debate between badnarik and molyneux.
Badnarik essentially says he's an anarchist and minarchism is simply a tactical solution in his mind.
Listen to it - made me like Badnarik even more.

I do not think that's an accurate summation of Kurzweil's recommendations... You should check out TRANSCEND, and/or Fantastic Voyage.

Oh my.. that is quite funny a video. Good for Badnarik - He should lower his bad cholesterol.
The good news is apparently, there is research that indicates that hard alcohol could help.
utubehayter 2 years ago
Or one could actually SOLVE the problem by not putting cholesterol into ones body in the first place.

How much cholesterol you eat has very little impact to serum cholesterol levels.
It's actually more complicated.
