yeah, so what? frenchie??? I love it !!! I have been known to dance in stilletto heels on my coffee table... just ask the police when they came to my house.....
This song is a remake of a 70's song originally made by a group called Les Grammacks. Les Grammacks are from the carribean island of Dominica. the lead singer is an artist called Jeff J. The genre of the original song is what's known as Zouk which is French carribean calipso. The basic out line of the song is how the sun can make a man mad.
Eat your hearts out English Beat fans, but I saw them twice back in the early 80s at Alpine Valley in Wisconsin, once opening for the Police (!) and once as the headliner, with Bow Wow Wow opening for them! Love this tune and the rest of the album.
i asked a parisian guy back in the 90's what the lyrics meant. He said he couldnt understand cause was a carribean french creole accent. Just like most americans cant understand what jamaicans are saying
Ah yes, Soleil Trop Chaud. "The sun's very hot" would be the english translation. If only I knew the rest of the lyrics. Something about a boy meeting a girl. Love this tune! Calypso en Francais! Vive le Beat!
this always makes me wanna dance !!!!

Superb - one of the richest, most poignant, musically mature skilled offerings from any of the 2-tone bands. Sort of cadence-soukous mashup.

Really nice rhythm on this one! To my ears a blend of calypso and african...you could almost salsa to it!

@En3usiast yes, you can Salsa to this, the cha-cha, and maybe a saucy tango!!!
