@sketsuarez - The double kick: the first kick propels your arms and face out of the water. Your head enters the water and the second kick propels you forward. Every arm stroke is a double kick. Your hands should be the water at 10:00 and 2:00. Or at the closest together, 11:00 and 1:00.
TWO KICKS PER PULL. Move your butt out of the water. Move your butt!!!
@sketsuarez - when you swim fly, your whole body undulates. DRILL: have a friend take two pool noodles and hold them arm's width apart in the shallow end. Jump off the bottom, with your arms up over your head and dive over the first pool noodle. Come up under the second pool noodle and swim 25 fly. Repeat.
@sketsuarez stand on the deck and move your pelvis back and forth, with your arms over your head in a streamlined position. Do hip circles to loosen up your muscles. Take your kickboard and do the same back and forth motion you did on deck with your pelvis across the pool. Streamline position
@Erosenkohl sometimes when I focused on moving my arms I used to forget to move my legs in rhythmic... I'd practiced to separate the movement for each components of my body.. once I trained focusing on moving my legs (dolphin kick) but then only my arms and no problems happen so far.. however the problem arise when I try to combine both of the movement and it's really hard.. how I supposed to do to make my brain comfortable doing the dolphin kick and the arms butterfly simultaneously?
@sketsuarez To do butterfly? Try opening and leading with your chest when you take a breath of air. Also, launch your body forward, not up. Practice slow as possible, then speed up.
@sketsuarez - glue your knees together and move your butt!!!
Fly Coordination: 1) Kick your head and shoulders forward 2) Take your breath 3) Pull 4) kick your body through the water 5) Repeat
