BMW 325 vs. BMW 323 Drag

Its obvious the 325 would win as the 323 has a 2.5ltr straight six, 325 has a 2.5 ltr straight six aswell however the 323 has a detuned version - (I used to work for BMW and now own my own E36 Specialist garage, trust me the 325 is slightly more spin happy but would definately win in a 0-62 race)

Neither would touch the 328i unless they have been tuned (remember the 2.8 ltr straight six IS BMW's most legendary engine)

328s are heavier ,rev less ,with an unreliable block, always overheating. the M50 325i is bmws most legendary engine

My 323is can beat lots of cars that should be faster than it. When you're talking relatively small differences in power (<20%) the driver makes a huge difference as does the transmission. Horrible video BTW.

@dansowtus really? please explain how the m52 is better than the m50.. and how the throttle body in the 323i differs compared to the 325i one. p.s. dif are more than just the intake.. is also the exhaust, which is twin pipe in the 325i vs one in the 323i, the injectors, which are considerably bigger in the 325i, and the 325i has a shorter final drive, 3:15 (compared to 2.93 in the 323i), which again, it makes it faster. oh, yea.. and difference is 22bhp, not 21.

The 323i can beat the 325. It's actually faster 0-100. Not much, but a bit faster. Thats because the diff on the 323i has a shorter final drive ratio. It accelerates faster, but the 325 will win on top speed.

I have a 316 diff on my 323i ;) I could easily win against a car with 220hp, on a 300m dragrace.

325i is more powerful and lighter than the 323i. and someone was talkin' about the final drive, which makes 323i faster.. dude, get your facts straight. a longer final drive will make your gears longer and car slower. why do you think ppl change rear diffs for a higher ratio like 3.34, 3.46, 3.94 etc.?

@mistreku ,the m50b25 (325i) is 40kg heavier than th 323i (m52B25) due to the block being cast iron instead of alaminium as the later model e36 328,323,523,528,728 same torrque from lower down 249lbs/ft ,just fitting a 325 intake manifold with throttlebody gives you same hp as 328 (about 190),fitted on my car and i can keep up with 325 and 328i that are stock,gear ratios can be altered slightly too to account for larger wheels,the 323 share same dif as 328 which increases acceleration notTSpeed

323 has an aluminium engine - 325 not ... and 323´s 2nd gear is longer so from 0 km/h (mp/h) upwards its faster than 325 .... at a flying start with 50 km/h the 325 may be faster...

@GWaxTV i don't need to, on manual it is 0-50 in 5.6 seconds, i change gear very fast, i'v been practising for quite some time on it,and i just keep it in second gear till it gets to 60 instead of changing to 3rd, and it is video and digitaly timed, so no error can be made

yes e46 323 has 2.5l engine with motor m52tub25...the 325 e46 has a little upgraded version what is called m54. But IN THIS VIDEO those cars are e36 and i think 325 wins (right one in beginning of the video).

The have both 2500cc 6 cilinders.

both 0-100 8.0 sec and topspeed both 233kmh.

The 323i is the newer 325i for the E36.

Try to read something first before you type.

Both cars does same speed, the 328i is a litle faster but not much.

a 325 e46 is faster than an 323 e46 and a 325 e36 go under the 8 seconds to 100 and in this video you see two e36.

They BOTH have the same size, 2.5 liter engine. The e46 323 is really a 325, but BMW lowered the number on the badge to 323 to make the 328 seem more worth spending the extra money on. I own an e46 323i and it's a great car!

The extra HP is coming very high in RPM, so dont change manifold.
