IMO Dan Miragliotta; Herb Dean followed & Josh Rosenthal are the top 3 best referees. I don't think big John McCarthy is as good because he seriously screwed over Sakuraba, that was one of the worst calls in UFC history.

@reppin49dank I think he meant that during the fight he is looking for fouls because anything legal doesn't matter to him unless it ends the fight like a sub or KO. he is watching the fight but not as a spectator would. any sport ref is doing the same such as looking for feet inbounds. a freind of mine killed a guy in a barfight after punching his temple but he didn't aim for it(the guy turned his head just like some fighters turn theirs and get hit in back)more than 2 and it should be a foul.

Mazzagatti is terrible. One time a fighter was knocked out cold in TUF and the other fighter had a kimura locked in. It took Mazzagatti about ten seconds to realize the reason the guys arm didn't break was because his whole body was limp.
You know what pisses me off, when a referee says something it goes.. that rule is not up for discussion, if he gets it wrong that should not be delt with, he is the Ref... he has the authority.

When Brock tapped to Mir, he first tapped twice and Maz is right there and couldn't have missed it, but Maz waited until Brock tapped again (several taps). Then he stops the fight.
Bad reffing. Mazzagatti should have at least acknowledged that he did make a mistake in that fight.
He is there for fighter safety and if a ref misses an obvious tap, someone's arm or leg could be broken.
Steve Mazzagatti is a bad ref, your number one job as a ref is to protect the fighters. Your second job is to look for fouls from both fighters. He just admitted he doesn't watch the fight he just looks for fouls. Forrest Griffin did not deserve what happened to him, he went limp five seconds before Mazz stopped him. What scumbag he is. Protect the fucking fighters first Steve.

he did fubar the mir lesnar fight, no question, he didnt even stop the fight after brock tapped, granted brock might not have done a perfect tap out but it was easy to tell he was tappin. As for the jones hamill, tougher one to decide on, either way hamil knows he lost that fight no one has any delusions of hamil really "winning" that fight it was a one sided beat down.

@reppin49dank I think he meant that during the fight he is looking for fouls because anything legal doesn't matter to him unless it ends the fight like a sub or KO. he is watching the fight but not as a spectator would. any sport ref is doing the same such as looking for feet inbounds. a freind of mine killed a guy in a barfight after punching his temple but he didn't aim for it(the guy turned his head just like some fighters turn theirs and get hit in back)more than 2 and it should be a foul.

We all know, reffing any sport isnt the easiest job, no matter what decissions you make, they are going to be put under scrutney, that's just how it is. I wish people wouldnt argue over something that they have NO control over. MMA IS HERE TO STAY, STEVE WILL HAVE IT HIS WAY.

Mazzagatti is terrible. One time a fighter was knocked out cold in TUF and the other fighter had a kimura locked in. It took Mazzagatti about ten seconds to realize the reason the guys arm didn't break was because his whole body was limp.

When Brock tapped to Mir, he first tapped twice and Maz is right there and couldn't have missed it, but Maz waited until Brock tapped again (several taps). Then he stops the fight.
Bad reffing. Mazzagatti should have at least acknowledged that he did make a mistake in that fight.
He is there for fighter safety and if a ref misses an obvious tap, someone's arm or leg could be broken.

Steve Mazzagatti is a bad ref, your number one job as a ref is to protect the fighters. Your second job is to look for fouls from both fighters. He just admitted he doesn't watch the fight he just looks for fouls. Forrest Griffin did not deserve what happened to him, he went limp five seconds before Mazz stopped him. What scumbag he is. Protect the fucking fighters first Steve.

he did fubar the mir lesnar fight, no question, he didnt even stop the fight after brock tapped, granted brock might not have done a perfect tap out but it was easy to tell he was tappin. As for the jones hamill, tougher one to decide on, either way hamil knows he lost that fight no one has any delusions of hamil really "winning" that fight it was a one sided beat down.
