If any of you want 120hz IPS monitor, you have to wait... I can't stand 60hz monitors because I watch a lot of movies and movies look terrible on 60hz TVs/monitors once you get a glance at the smooth feel of 120hz+
@dokha You are a retard, look at Dell U2312HM for games, it has 0.6 input lag and it has n ISP panel. When you get an IPS panel you never look back at crappy TN panels.
@jyrma wow I was thinking about buying this screen, but what afte you said that it having worse blacks then a 226btw (I have that exact screen now lol) I think im gonna look for another screen..
Im starting to think that buying a ips isnt that much better then a really good normal screen
This monitor is e-IPS, _NOT_ S-IPS as retailers (and everyone here) mistakenly believe. Of course, quality-wise it is nearly identical if not identical to S-IPS since the panel tech is an extension of S-IPS; the difference is that transparency in the matrix is increased, meaning less light from the backlight is needed, improving energy efficiency and lowering production costs.
@unrealalchemist It's an S-IPS panel per HP from the zr24w's own data sheet. I think that would constitute as false advertisement and sites like anandtech would've caught it if HP tried to pass it off as something else. Please cite sources where it says the panel is e-IPS before claiming such.
@TheArea510 I'm no expert but what I've gathered so far in my research into buying a new monitor is that there are three main types of IPS panel technologies with varying quality. H-IPS is the best, followed by S-IPS and then e-IPS. H-IPS panels are found in professional displays like the Eizo CG243W, Dell U2410 and Apple's LED Cinema display. Sometimes manufactures will generally list the panel type as "IPS" without specifying exactly which variant it is.

@Laxcarl e-IPS seems like a perfect balance for a regular consumer, since it has a low input lag.

How are the black levels? Are they acceptable? I thinking of getting this, but not sure yet, because the dell u2410 is a good alternative too.
