infected people managed to go underground and hide and forme a rebellion. They wanted to re-populate their kind. Violet was part of that rebellion and was sent to go get the governments secret weapon to destroy all of her kind. after discovering it was a young human boy, she didnt want to destroy the weapon, but rather save it because after being infected her child was killed inside the womb.

Violet wasnt infected by her own company, she was a regular person who was starting a family with her husband (from what I could tell in the movie) She was infected by a accident. After she was infected she was taken in for experimentation. They discovered that it made the human body stronger, so tried making soldiers with the virus. After that for whatever reason they started killing everyone infected, including the soldiers.

I usually HATE girls-with-guns stories, but this one did it really well. The visual style was better than the one in the Matrix, I say; the only time it's been replicated well is with Mirror's Edge. It's certainly better than the popular brown color palette most games do these days.

The main complaints I heard from people who saw the movie is that it was crap, bad acting but in relaity it was another though-provoking future setting that might happened. The main story is that the government made genetically-engineered humans and their experiments began to rebel against them. Other say it looks too much like Resident Evil, I don't think so: Resident Evil is about zombies, Ultraviolet is more of human mutants. Yeah, it would be nice if Kurt Wimmer wrote a sequel.
