  • This is such a fantastic alternative to pins! I have to do someone's updo and I plan to give this a go and see if I can get it to look as nice as Kevin's model. I'm so happy to have found this video. Thank you, Kevin Murhphy!

  • @imyofrend Tried it, like it a lot, but need to refine certain aspects. I think this is more challenging when the hair is heavier. But the end result was quite secure, looked soft and pretty, and I am crazy about the technique. Way to go, Mr. Murphy!

  • This is the easiest, fastest and neatest way to do up-do's. it takes 5 seconds to take out and you dont have to hunt for bobby pins. After looking through my books my clients prefer this method due to the comfort and versatility from classic french twists to crazy up do's. Thank you for posting this!!!

  • u people r idiots. u find the string with your finger... snip it... n wala its out... only an idiot would cut their hair david glover came to my school today n did this look n the model said it was easy to take out.

  • Vivienne Macinder sews hair, Sebastian and Aveda designers sewed hair in the 1990's. This is a great alternative to pins. Bravo Kevin Murphy!!!! Keep your mind open to learning !!!!

  • It looks really good, but I don't think I could do that on my own hair for one thing, and I can probably find an easier way of doing a messy up do without having to stitch my hair together...

  • Question, how do you get the string out? lol

  • wow i never knew people actually stitch their hair, that's pretty cool :)

  • wow... nice look... but how do u manage to get all the string out afterwards without accidentally snipping ur hair???!!??

  • Wow, I tried this and it came out so nice!

  • It looks good but I'm not going to sew my hair...I'll stick with the bobby pins

  • neet concept but it would be hella hard to do yourself

  • "and this will last all night long"... right and even longer coz you'll never find the ribbon again...it looks cute though...probably stick to the good old bobby pins...

  • cant iimagine howw itl hurt pulling the tread out of the knots without loosing a chunk of hair afterwards :S ouach

  • ahahah lool! that's funny

  • never have the patience to do this..soo long..long live bobby pins <3 hahahah

  • it looks like nots

  • okay yeah its just easier to put it up. why try and do all this "sewing" crap? its HAIR.

  • thats really cool! I have never seen someone do this before!
