You cite an example of a bright young student with failing health, however the organ is more likely to be needed by someone who's lifestyle or age has lead to renal failure. I wonder if people's decision to donate would be affected if the recipent was a chronic dypsomaniac or serial drug abuser who may well lapse back into their old ways...or perhaps just someone rich enough to buy body parts from a poor 24 year old despite being over 90 years old themselves.
@darkpriestess84 Drug users in general are more likely to be denied an organ transplant because of the fact that they are drug users. And if a person is rich enough to afford an organ, and the donor wants to d it then no problem.

The answer is more simple. Stem cell research. Grow any organ from stem cells that will not be rejected by the subject. De-regulate stem cell research, let people live longer. Simple as that, as it has been proven that ANY Part of the human body can be replicated, save the brain ofcoarse. This is a simple solution that will work, but we have extreme lefty's that oppose this notion thinking that we are "playing God". That is horseshit, we could save millions of lives, replicating any organ.
ofcourse they kidney faill if they eat junk food and etc why sould i give him my kidney i would not and ,i dont expect to receve as wele ,eithere way its agynst my law i dont even give blood for what sustains thys world makes hym a beliver in thys life and the othere life not i say die in fayth bro ,dont die whith out it .
Arrests were made in a recent organ-trafficking and money-laundering FBI sting operation which implicated five Talmudic rabbis from New York and neighboring New Jersey. This international rabbinical operation spanned from Jewish-entrenched New York to the Jewish state of Israel. The FBI used an informant, a Talmudic Jew named Solomon Dwek, to approach the rabbis — who were from the Syrian Jewish community in Brooklyn NY and Deal NJ. Homeless people living in this areas have been disappearing.
How would allowing people to sell what they own exploit the poor? Studies have shown that the upper/middle class show the same willingness to sell their kidney for the same price. The poor get richer, the rich get slightly more so.
am sorry i dont agree for the most part not everyobe should be saved the planet is over run with people we need to work out ways to bring the numbers down not take it up
@thepredatorr Yay! mandatory euthanasia! Compassion is part of what makes us human, and so leaving people to die who could otherwise be saved is dispicable. Yes, we DO need to get the population down, ASAP, but not even China would suggest getting rid of the LIVING :). I propose something different to the 1 Child Policy though; everyone is issued with half a 'baby token' at birth. This can either be used or sold on the free market, with hefty fines for those who have 'illegitimate' children.
It makes more sense for organs to be used from recently deceased people rather than living ones. I think it would be beneficial if the law required every person who died healthy to donate there organs. Its not like the government is telling people what to do with there body because the person is already dead, so I don't think they would mind losing a kidney.
Lonleyimmortal has a point if you die your organs are harvested and if yor family or friend/rights holders don't want that they should pay a hefty fee.
@thunderdog14052 I agree that the dead should give their organs. It's not like they'll need them anymore or be around to live without their organs. I think the all the organs of the dead should be removed and put to use. Not just kidneys; lungs, hair, eyes, heart, liver, marrow, intestines, everything. That will save a lot more lives. The only problem here is people may complain that they're letting the gov. decide what to do with their bodies. But if your dead, the body is no longer yours...
I am poor, currently out of work, homeless, 29k in dept. and have a family that requires me to take care of them. I would love it if it were legal for me to sell my bonemarrow, kidney, 1/2 my liver and a lung. but seeing as it is not legal and i refuse to break the law... I shall continue to look for work and hope my family doesnt starve to death in the mean time.
I respectfully disagree with this, saving lives is pointless if we are willing to allow the poor to lessen their quality of life and life expectancy. The fact is, lives will be lost every day, what we should concentrate on is improving quality of life, liberty and happiness and I feel this system is too easily exploited. However, I must say I have no better ideas to solve the problem.
i dont know if this means anything in the long run, but i gave my left kiddney, there was no price, no glory, just me wanting to make a difference. its not much but it may save one of those lives
We need more doners, yes, im already on the extreme side by saying you should have to have some card or something on you if you _don't_ want your organs to be used for transplantation.
But the price-tag is a whole other level. Whats it gonna be? The average monthy income from someone of California? ...or Mexico City?
Coorperations lock away minors for a year in privatly owned prisons, because of an argument with their parents at the dinner table (US), knowingly sell HIV infected drogs (US), take monopolistic control over the water supply (even rain!) of large cities (south america), and talk relatives of just deceased people into "selling" the corps, take out all the bones, crunch them to dust and sell them to the US, because its cheaper to use human substance than artificial subsitutes (eastern europe).
I agree that you should be able to receive compensation for organs, but when it comes to organs like the kidney, the person donating usually ends up worse than the person receiving it. Call me crazy, but it seems a bit counter-intuitive in that case.
Well then they have to spend a lot of money on organs and that drives up costs so that nobody will be able to afford them. A better solution is to make donating your organs once you die compulsory. Then we will have no shortage of organs.
I think you probably won IN PART because Americans are conditioned to think that there is a market solution to every problem, and that the Market Is Inherently Good. So when someone presents a market approach, they buy it because they are not able to consider solutions based on the sense of community.
If applied to this, advertising could slowly turn people toward leaving their organs for the use others when they die, just for the good feeling of helping others at no cost to one's living self.
Interesting and thought provoking :) Do you have any thoughts on a compensatory system for non-regenerative tissue/organ doners whose remaining organ later fails? For example does a kidney doner recieve a discount or higher priority on free organs if/when their remaining kidney fails? Personally having that kind of reassurance would be as much an incentive as the cash payment.
I was discussing this with my friend the other day and she knows someone who works in a hospital and she said its a fact if you are an organ doner and plan to harvest your organs, they dont try as hard to save you if say you wer in a car crash or something else because of the fact that your organs can save another life...
So... does this mean if I need money, I could sell my liver [or any other organ] for money. My question is "Is my organ extracted while I'm alive or dead?'' because it seems to me that money won't be very useful if I'm missing a lung or liver or kidney.
I have filled out a donor form. When I die, they can take anything they want.
Although I am a big fan of freedom of the individual; there are limits. Would it be ok for someone to commit suicide and donate all his organs, while his family gets a huge amount of money?
No they can't. Killing someone is as far as I know still illegal in most countries. They can however harvest my organs when they're unable to save me (after I'm dead, identified and confirmed by the register I'm a donor).
Sounds like it boils down to the poor and unfortunate being given desperately needed money for their desperately needed vital organs.
None of the middle-class will donate organs for money, unless it were a substantial amount (and it would have to be substantial)... and even with this incentive, there won't be a lot of them donating.
Absolutely none of the upper-class will donate organs, with the *possible* exception of high-profile people (actors, for example).
I think its a good idea, but I think we should look into some serious legislation that ensures the organ market from being corrupt. You know how it works in the united states: If someone can profit by something, they will, and often ethics is hardly a factor. Otherwise I support the idea.
In regards to the issue of the poor, perhaps a cap on how much a person can donate would help the issue?
Im sorry but I could never give up and organ. . unless it was for a family member. Although I do have one the rarest blood types (O Neg) and I do donate when I can.
I say death row inmates should be chopped up for parts. Seems right if you think about it. Lethal injection accomplishes nothing. Transplants help make up for the life lost.
There is always going to be a shortage of organs. Its a tough world. Being able to sell your organs would not help. You know people would abuse it. The only thing that i would introduce is educating kids in highschool in why they should be donors. Show them falseness of the myth that people are killed in the E.R. to harvest their organs. Make them at ease with it. Try and show them that its ok, safe and the right thing to do.
The only major organ that person can give without alot of horrible mess is the liver. It grows back. If a person were to sell one of there kidneys they are setting themselves up for a much tougher life. A complete change in lifestyles and diet as well as the fact that you would have a chance that your remaining kidney would fail. Organs that are usually transplanted from the dead have to come from healthy usually young individuals. Prob is there are not alot of people who die young and healthy
this idea is fucked how about making being a organ donors mandatory but selling organs to the highest bidder thats just wrong this idea would get grossly exploited more than your countries healthcare already is.
organs should go to the absolute best recipient/ a 12 year old boy vs. a 60 rich asshole
Uh ... I know they're not "technically" organs ...
But would you consider selling me your boobs?
You don't have to die or anything, we'd work out an arrangement, where you could hang out at my house ... Then whenever I wanted to see "my" boobs ... viola!
I'd be willing to donate, like IDK ... more then $20 bucks for the "rights" to your boobs.
Think about it ... it's a rough economy out there ... $20 bucks is 4 Happy Meals ...
your teeth are very white in this vid 0o and try waiting on the HNS XD and any way when ppl die hey shud be able ot take there Organs they just get burnt any way soo wtp
I think your heart may be in the right place but asking people to donate their organs while they are still using them is a bit much to ask. Plus I'm pretty sure YOU havent donated ANY of your organs. And why should you....you're young. I'm not as young as young as but i'm not willing to shorten my life to donate a kidney. maybe when i die I'll whatever is usable.
This is a subject I believe very strongly in and have been discussing with my family and friends quite a bit. Thank you for bringing it to the attention of YouTube and your subscribers.
One querry though, how would it be exploiting the poor? Of course, I am not so naive as to think that there couldn't and wouldn't be less than desirable situations, but how is selling a resource of their's exploitation; what other reason besides putting food on the table and such would there be?
there is also such as stamcell treatemt , it is a breakthroug , but your country does not want to do much reseach on this subject . your enemy iran way more knowleged about it . organ donoring is a risky business because the body rejects organ often . also you can not use a kidney from black ( negro ) in to a white european decent person . it does not fit . dont mind my english im dutch from amsterdam
I don't mind your crappy English, but I do mind that you are stating something that is false as a fact. Caucasian and African-descent people can receive organs from each other, as long as they are compatible genetically. By the way, did you know that "black" people are still just humans like "white" people? I hate to make you feel less racially superior and everything, but you are just plain wrong on this one.
I like your idea, and I also like madhoyden's idea to have all dead bodies available on assumed consent, with those who feel uncomfortable with that opting out.
I say we get pop culture and media to promote the idea that selling organs makes you
I've seen this thing about how people are experimenting with printing living tissue into 3-dimensional matrices, and beyond that, potentially organs. So far a heart ventricle has been successfully made.
But yeah....I don't even drink. I like my kidneys for personal health, but if I found a person I personally though was worth it, I'd probably hook them up seven pounds style.
How about this? The state or hospitals start collecting organs from dead body based on assumed consent. People or their living relatives who are not comfortable with the idea could opt out of it. Then you'll have a endless supply of organs and the poor will not feel financially coerced to sell parts of their body. Then you could use the rest to make tasty, tasty soylent green to feed the hungry mass
i personally don't feel comfortable giving my organs while i'm stil alive, but once i'm dead they can have whatever they want. but here's an idea i just thought of, we should take the organs of people on death row, we're gonna kill them anyway, the least they can do is save some lives for the ones they took away.
So, stem cell research hasn't grown a kidney yet? And, what about those who donate a kidney, can they survive having only one healthy kidney? Can we live a useful life (useful to us, that is)? Dying for "no reason" because we have lots of technology really only means that we SHOULD allow stem cell research to develop organ growth. I mean, come on, we can grow teeth for christ's sake!
you pay dearly for a kidney, out of those 10,000 people who give a kidney, how many are destined for a patient who is family? many of those i gurantee you are those who gave to a family member. many people are not willing to donate their vital organs to complete strangers, and i am among them and so is my family. if my brother needs a kidney, and i got one that fits the bill, its coming out of me and into him, but i will not give my kidney to Joe stranger.
Well your idea is only really relevant for kidney and lung problems, unless you want to start killing healthy people to save sick lives. How about assumed consent to donate organs unless specifically stated in the persons will? The supply of organs dramatically increases and you don't need to exploit anyone, if they care about it that much a will is a small price to pay.
Your body can't replace organs, people might have one kidney or lung fail on them later in life, a problem if you donated it.
Although your idea is great, there is one major flaw. Things only work well under regulation for a while after that people realize they can make more money off the system. It can happen with any business sector, next thing you know he medical industry will turn into the next wall street catastrophe where surgeons were pricing healthier organs higher so their pay would be higher, while many people especially that poor that need them are left to die. There is also room for the kidnappings of
turists who will be harvested for their organs. Then there is the other problem of people donating their organs without knowing for a fact if they will need them or not in the future. For example lets say a college student gets into the college of their dream, but in his second year one of his parents falls really sick and he can no longer afford his tuiton. selling his kidney at 20 may seem like a really good idea at the time although his other kidney maybe fail
and he may need it sometime in the future. This system although it seems good on paper leave to much room to recreate a real life version of the movie 'Turistas' in the United States.
I'm keeping all my organs and being cremated when I die. Because 1, I hate 90% of people and am not willing to risk saving an asshole. And 2, the population is high enough. These days, we need all the deaths we can get. Sounds harsh, but that's nature.
I don't know about you guys, but I am not exactly concerned with what kind of rights I have if I am dead, or what happens to my organs... I would have no need for either.
jesus christ i am so tired of all these asswipes telling me that capitalism screws the poor.
THE ONLY REASON THE POOR HAVE INCREASED LIVING CONDITIONS TODAY IS BECAUSE OF THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION AND OTHER TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS, SPURRED BY CAPITALISM
I'm just as tired of asswipes telling me that capitalism doesn't screw the poor.
THE ONLY REASON THERE ARE POOR IS BECAUSE THERE IS A RELATIVELY FINITE AMOUNT OF RESOURCES, AND THE PURSUIT (AND AQUISITIION) OF AN EXCESS OF THESE RESOURCES (WEALTH) COMES AT THE EXPENSE OF THE MAJORITY THAT MUST RELINQUISH THEIR "SHARE" SO THAT THIS MIGHT BE ACCOMPLISHED.
A majority of people must suffer so that a few people can have more resources than they could ever possibly use? Bullshit.
When Apple and Windows invented the personal computer, were they cutting into the market share of someone else? No, they created an entirely new market, bringing new wealth and new jobs.
Wealth is not only transferred, it is created, and that's why capitalism is the best for all members of society in the long term. Besides, in socialism, although the relativistic term poor wouldn't be used, we would still be living as the poor did.
Wealth without resources is essentially the reason we're in this recession, and you can't have (tangible) wealth without resources... if that weren't the case, then there'd be nothing stopping all of us from being wealthy, now would there?
The creation of a new market (and subsequent jobs) is not directly tied to any one particular economic system... and how exactly would we live as the poor in a *TRUE* socialist society (in which the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution lies is communal)? In a true socialist society, you would not have a President/VP/BoD/etc, and you would not have an imbalance in the distribution of the profits generated by the company which you see so often in a capitalist society.
In a truly socialistic society, self interest would be gone. Any logical person would realize that they could slack off with minor repercussions. When people are not rewarded for their efforts, why try at all?
Since *you* would have more control in the company, there would be more vested *interest* in its success: an increase in self-interest.
When your company is successful, then your society is successful, and a successful society will share in the benefits of the companies they participate in.
The industrial revolution occurred during the time of protectionism, nothing to do with capitalism; I'm more inclined to think social reform had more of an influence. Yes technology has increased the standard of living for everyone; but the working class have workers rights due to the trade union movement (socialism). Capitalism does one thing, increase wealth. The poor may get richer, but the divide is multiplied if not for socialistic campaigns in capitalist societies.
I agree about life, but both ways... giving an organ or needing one is kinda scary. thanks for telling me more about it. I never really thought about the number of people. To all the bad comments you really need to think about how you might need one or someone you care about. It is a big, scary thing that does need to be done.
What is the sole purpose of the medical community? Interesting question. Is it about saving lives or making money? I want to believe it is something noble like saving lives but I think we know better than that. When profits are involved morality flies out the window.
Oh sure, let's be selfish. Let others die so that someone can rot in their grave with all their organs instead of rotting in their grave with just a few organs but knowing that those organs would save the life of others.
Why the hell should I care about someone I don't know, and will never know, just to satisfy your moral and/or ethical code?
Hell, there are starving animals in Africa: maybe I should donate my carcass to them, so that they might devour my flesh and thereby gain another day of life... or donate it to science, so that they might study it and learn more.
Who in the hell are you to dictate to me what I should do with my flesh and/or organs, living or dead? **** you, and the horse you rode in on.
Kyanis, you've got me all wrong: if you (or anyone else) want(s) to donate your organ(s) then more power to you. I'm all for individual rights... I'm just not into others telling me that I must, and that I'm wrong for not doing so.
The problem of the poor not affording it would be avoided over here as they would presumably be available on the NHS. Interesting video. I would have to do myself some further research before I decide in favour or against it.
Also, to some of the other commentators on here, she's a pretty girl, get over it.

I wrote a proposal on kidney selling as well. She is definitely on point.
princessdeez 7 months ago
The answer is more simple. Stem cell research. Grow any organ from stem cells that will not be rejected by the subject. De-regulate stem cell research, let people live longer. Simple as that, as it has been proven that ANY Part of the human body can be replicated, save the brain ofcoarse. This is a simple solution that will work, but we have extreme lefty's that oppose this notion thinking that we are "playing God". That is horseshit, we could save millions of lives, replicating any organ.

Lonleyimmortal has a point if you die your organs are harvested and if yor family or friend/rights holders don't want that they should pay a hefty fee.
thunderdog14052 1 year ago

I shall continue to look for work and hope my family doesnt starve to death in the mean time.
iindium49 2 years ago
I respectfully disagree with this, saving lives is pointless if we are willing to allow the poor to lessen their quality of life and life expectancy. The fact is, lives will be lost every day, what we should concentrate on is improving quality of life, liberty and happiness and I feel this system is too easily exploited. However, I must say I have no better ideas to solve the problem.

HotshotAtheist 2 years ago
"Whats a better incentive than money"
Well then they have to spend a lot of money on organs and that drives up costs so that nobody will be able to afford them. A better solution is to make donating your organs once you die compulsory. Then we will have no shortage of organs.
ploxioths 2 years ago

Personally having that kind of reassurance would be as much an incentive as the cash payment.
firstprimeofra 2 years ago
I was discussing this with my friend the other day and she knows someone who works in a hospital and she said its a fact if you are an organ doner and plan to harvest your organs, they dont try as hard to save you if say you wer in a car crash or something else because of the fact that your organs can save another life...

So... does this mean if I need money, I could sell my liver [or any other organ] for money. My question is "Is my organ extracted while I'm alive or dead?'' because it seems to me that money won't be very useful if I'm missing a lung or liver or kidney.
drummer1000words 2 years ago
I have filled out a donor form. When I die, they can take anything they want.
Although I am a big fan of freedom of the individual; there are limits. Would it be ok for someone to commit suicide and donate all his organs, while his family gets a huge amount of money?
maartenjohannes 2 years ago
So when you get in a car crash the doctors can pull the plug on you and harvest your organs.
OGROKTEHUBER 2 years ago
No they can't. Killing someone is as far as I know still illegal in most countries. They can however harvest my organs when they're unable to save me (after I'm dead, identified and confirmed by the register I'm a donor).
maartenjohannes 2 years ago
Sounds like it boils down to the poor and unfortunate being given desperately needed money for their desperately needed vital organs.
None of the middle-class will donate organs for money, unless it were a substantial amount (and it would have to be substantial)... and even with this incentive, there won't be a lot of them donating.
Absolutely none of the upper-class will donate organs, with the *possible* exception of high-profile people (actors, for example).
I won't even mention the 1%.
SexedUpAtheist 2 years ago
I think its a good idea, but I think we should look into some serious legislation that ensures the organ market from being corrupt. You know how it works in the united states: If someone can profit by something, they will, and often ethics is hardly a factor. Otherwise I support the idea.
In regards to the issue of the poor, perhaps a cap on how much a person can donate would help the issue?

There is always going to be a shortage of organs. Its a tough world. Being able to sell your organs would not help. You know people would abuse it. The only thing that i would introduce is educating kids in highschool in why they should be donors. Show them falseness of the myth that people are killed in the E.R. to harvest their organs. Make them at ease with it. Try and show them that its ok, safe and the right thing to do.
T3162000 2 years ago
The only major organ that person can give without alot of horrible mess is the liver. It grows back. If a person were to sell one of there kidneys they are setting themselves up for a much tougher life. A complete change in lifestyles and diet as well as the fact that you would have a chance that your remaining kidney would fail. Organs that are usually transplanted from the dead have to come from healthy usually young individuals. Prob is there are not alot of people who die young and healthy

This is a subject I believe very strongly in and have been discussing with my family and friends quite a bit. Thank you for bringing it to the attention of YouTube and your subscribers.
One querry though, how would it be exploiting the poor? Of course, I am not so naive as to think that there couldn't and wouldn't be less than desirable situations, but how is selling a resource of their's exploitation; what other reason besides putting food on the table and such would there be?
azdvldog 2 years ago
there is also such as stamcell treatemt , it is a breakthroug , but your country does not want to do much reseach on this subject . your enemy iran way more knowleged about it . organ donoring is a risky business because the body rejects organ often . also you can not use a kidney from black ( negro ) in to a white european decent person . it does not fit . dont mind my english im dutch from amsterdam

I don't mind your crappy English, but I do mind that you are stating something that is false as a fact.
Movie made me fuckin cry at the end.
AntiChristAntiFail 2 years ago
How about this? The state or hospitals start collecting organs from dead body based on assumed consent. People or their living relatives who are not comfortable with the idea could opt out of it. Then you'll have a endless supply of organs and the poor will not feel financially coerced to sell parts of their body. Then you could use the rest to make tasty, tasty soylent green to feed the hungry mass
Everybody wins!

arrogantgodjealous 2 years ago 2
So, stem cell research hasn't grown a kidney yet? And, what about those who donate a kidney, can they survive having only one healthy kidney? Can we live a useful life (useful to us, that is)? Dying for "no reason" because we have lots of technology really only means that we SHOULD allow stem cell research to develop organ growth. I mean, come on, we can grow teeth for christ's sake!
MrOwnerMe 2 years ago
you pay dearly for a kidney, out of those 10,000 people who give a kidney, how many are destined for a patient who is family? many of those i gurantee you are those who gave to a family member. many people are not willing to donate their vital organs to complete strangers, and i am among them and so is my family. if my brother needs a kidney, and i got one that fits the bill, its coming out of me and into him, but i will not give my kidney to Joe stranger.
silver965 2 years ago
Well your idea is only really relevant for kidney and lung problems, unless you want to start killing healthy people to save sick lives. How about assumed consent to donate organs unless specifically stated in the persons will? The supply of organs dramatically increases and you don't need to exploit anyone, if they care about it that much a will is a small price to pay.
Your body can't replace organs, people might have one kidney or lung fail on them later in life, a problem if you donated it.

Although your idea is great, there is one major flaw. Things only work well under regulation for a while after that people realize they can make more money off the system. It can happen with any business sector, next thing you know he medical industry will turn into the next wall street catastrophe where surgeons were pricing healthier organs higher so their pay would be higher, while many people especially that poor that need them are left to die. turists who will be harvested for their organs. Then there is the other problem of people donating their organs without knowing for a fact if they will need them or not in the future. fuck you capitalism ftw
jesus christ i am so tired of all these asswipes telling me that capitalism screws the poor.
THE ONLY REASON THE POOR HAVE INCREASED LIVING CONDITIONS TODAY IS BECAUSE OF THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION AND OTHER TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS, SPURRED BY CAPITALISM
oober349 2 years ago 2
Bullshit.
TheGameJedi 2 years ago
Finite amount of resources? Maybe.
Finite amount of wealth? No.
When Apple and Windows invented the personal computer, were they cutting into the market share of someone else? No, they created an entirely new market, bringing new wealth and new jobs.
Wealth is not only transferred, it is created, and that's why capitalism is the best for all members of society in the long term. Besides, in socialism, although the relativistic term poor wouldn't be used, we would still be living as the poor did.
oober349 2 years ago
Wealth without resources is essentially the reason we're in this recession, and you can't have (tangible) wealth without resources... if that weren't the case, then there'd be nothing stopping all of us from being wealthy, now would there?
TheGameJedi 2 years ago
The creation of a new market (and subsequent jobs) is not directly tied to any one particular economic system... and how exactly would we live as the poor in a *TRUE* socialist society (in which the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution lies is communal)? In a true socialist society, you would not have a President/VP/BoD/etc, and you would not have an imbalance in the distribution of the profits generated by the company which you see so often in a capitalist society.
TheGameJedi 2 years ago
In a truly socialistic society, self interest would be gone. Any logical person would realize that they could slack off with minor repercussions. When people are not rewarded for their efforts, why try at all?
oober349 2 years ago
Where in the hell are you getting this?
Since *you* would have more control in the company, there would be more vested *interest* in its success: an increase in self-interest.
When your company is successful, then your society is successful, and a successful society will share in the benefits of the companies they participate in.
TheGameJedi 2 years ago
Wealth without resources: Manufacturing.
A computer is worth more than the total of its parts. We create wealth by creating new technology.
oober349 2 years ago
Manufacturing requires resources, even if it's just the magical wand that you wave to make the raw materials transform into the finished product. xD
I think this is the major flaw in your sort of thinking: you don't consider that people are a resource as well.
TheGameJedi 2 years ago
Laci is saying precisely that human organs should be treated as a resource.
MrOwnerMe 2 years ago
The industrial revolution occurred during the time of protectionism, nothing to do with capitalism; I'm more inclined to think social reform had more of an influence. Yes technology has increased the standard of living for everyone; but the working class have workers rights due to the trade union movement (socialism). Capitalism does one thing, increase wealth. The poor may get richer, but the divide is multiplied if not for socialistic campaigns in capitalist societies.
b0b0maj0 2 years ago

I'm sorry for misunderstanding you then. :-/

Legalise organ trade today!
What objection could there be? Arguing that poor people are helpless idiots who don't know what a kidney is?

The problem of the poor not affording it would be avoided over here as they would presumably be available on the NHS. Interesting video. I would have to do myself some further research before I decide in favour or against it.
Also, to some of the other commentators on here, she's a pretty girl, get over it.

Still a big need over here for the actual organs over here, not sure how to donate. Typical of this country, no education!
