I miss Helsinki! I was born there but my parents moved us away when I was very little. I visit Helsinki often and look forward to moving back one day, eventually :)

I live in Victoria, Australia and going to study in Helsinki next year for a year.. and I'm actually freaking out about the weather! I'm cold in 20 degrees let alone subzero temperatures! :/

For all those who live there and who travel there... Is it really that fucking cold?? And any suggestions as to how to handle it? (a part from drinking- which I shall be doing regularly)

@brionyofkonoha haha :D the only advice I can give you is to wear enough clothes :)) or that´s how I get through every winter in Finland :p and when it´s too cold outside, I stay inside my house beside our home´s fireplace x33 the coldest degrees I have experienced in Finland are only -30C since I have never been in the nothern part of my country xp I´m such a noob... Hope this helped, even a little :)

Finns might seem somewhat shy or withdrawn, but are friendly at heart. Attitudes against foreigners vary, but if you are nice and considerate, that wont be a problem :)

I am an American who has visited Finland several times, and I would highly recommend you visit or go there to study. The people are wonderful, and it is a beautiful country. A Finnish friend is a friend forever. If I could return to any nation, Finland would be at the top of the list. I hope you get to go.

I love Finland. I lived there for a few years. I highly recommend it for a summer visit. The people are different but so cool once you get to understand their culture.

i miss helsinki so much. the snow of jan 2007 was the most beautful thing i had ever experienced in my life. and someone wrote 'i <3 u' in massive letters in the snow of the cathedral steps at about midnight. fuck paris, helsinki is the most romantic city in the world!!
