  • first you don't even know hoe to use a Kirby you always start with the adjustment all the way up then lower it until the motor changes and the one more click down. your stain is indeed a piece a shit! it will not last nearly as long and give thy the service a Kirby will kirbys clean better and they give you more tools with the Kirby as well

  • The Dyson is garbage , I own a service center and this is my most profitable machine for repairs. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this asian garbage.

  • And the winner was.....????

  • I have personally owned a Kirby for many years now and I have to say it is one of the best out there notice I didn't say the best no matter what vacuum you use your not going to pick everything up

  • just an odd question but, do you live in Casper? My grandparents had a house with that exact same floor plan when they were still around. 0:06; on the right, the kitchen. on the left, the dinning room. straight ahead, the living room and the front door 0:24; at the far left is the master bedroom, the door to the right of that one leads to the bathroom, and the 2 doors on the right are bed rooms.i probably sound like a creep right now but its almost the exact same house.brings back fond memories

  • @spaz219 no we don't live in Casper!

  • @spaz219 ewwww, thats creepy...

Dude.. seriously get out of the house a bit more.

  • first, why dont you do a closeup of the dyson canister so we can see if whats really in the dyson?

2nd, if ur gonna do a true comparison test, show the whole test.

3rd, why did u wait till the end of your "comparison test" to show the closeup of whats in the canister?

  • The basic principle of the Kirby using a BAG is what makes it as good as a $20 Sanyo. How can a bag that is supposed to let air through it, also contain dust? :/ Makes no sense.

The centrifuge in a Cyclonic machine will maintain the air flow (suction) for the cleaning of the whole home.

You might be able to drive a car over a Kirby, but you cant clean a home with it.

  • @SHRUDE a full kirby loses around 25% of suction, a dyson does not, however a full kirby has more than twice the suction of dyson. dumbass.

ps, i work for a shop so i know a thing or two about both machines.

the tech that makes they dyson work also makes it weaker, makes sense doesnt it?

  • @shupid1

You picked a good screen name. bBut you misspelt it it should be STUPID1.

So your full Kirby with just 25% loss of suction, is that with a clean outer bag or with a used one?

You work for a shop? Retard clothing shop?

I worked in IAQ for 10 years, i know ALL vacs inside and out. Blow it out yer arse meathead.

  • @SHRUDE .. mentality of a dyson lover, a drone destined to buy hot items like ipads and drive priuses. uncover your eyes.

i bet you use a air multiplier too. i chose to used a MADE IN THE USA 1938 Roto-beam fan. a real air multiplier.

only reason for that invention is dyson lovers cant be trusted around spinny things like fan blades.

by the way any fan with decent air flow "multiplies" air- moving fluid causes a low pressure that causes other fluid (air) to fill the void and follow the stream

  • @shupid1

Lol you dickhead. WTF are you gonna slit your throat?

I;m not a Dyson lover. but I know a cyclonic system will always out perform a bag system.

And your 'any fan'? what the hell you talking about?

If you mean the Impeller on a Kirby or somehting equally as dumb, the air flow is only as good as the flowq of air. If you gonna use a BAG, your flow of air is already stuffed even after putting a new bag in.

Go back to sleep, you are better dreaming.

  • @SHRUDE i would make more progress talking to a wall.

    kirby 115CFM

    Dyson 47CFM

the bag is a GIANT filter, its porus, (duh) lots of surface area all the time, even full, the hepa that is on the dyson is two stage, and maybe 5 inches across, all the air must go past that small filter. flow is through the nossle, nossle hose, internal port, through the cyclones to the filter into the motor out the exhaust. kirby is nossle, fan housing, bag.

some of the worlds best designs are the most simple

  • @shupid1 Lisen .. peanut.

The dyson has a Cyclone or a Centrifuge, not a lot actually comes in contact with the filter medium. Airborne particulates that a lighter than the C.O.G are the main theing that passes by the Cyclone.

Your bag, is porous to let air through. How can somehting with holes in it to allow air through, catch particulate material as well?

As soon as the surface of a bag is covered with a fine layer of dust it is clogged.

It's simple physics which, is obviously beyond you.

  • @shupid1 Nah dyson doesnt loose suction if you treat it well! dyson is bette anyways best bagless the dyson dc28 can kick ass

  • @shupid1 Nah dyson doesnt loose suction if you treat it well! dyson is better anyways best bagless the dyson dc28 can kick ass

  • @shupid1 shupid why do you reply to all the post's? get a life bro....

  • @ejaracil i have a hard time letting stupid claims go unchallenged.

  • rsj has no idea what hes talking about hes a dumb ass the kirby beats all

  • the dysons terrible throw it int he trash

  • dyson vs shark pick shark costest least

  • I'm afraid this isn't a fair test. If this test was reversed (i.e. the Dyson going last), the results would probably be the same where the Kirby would pick up what the Dyson missed. This happens because you're vacuuming the same area twice. Also you're not working with controlled conditions. The only fair test would be to put the exact same amount of dirt on separate, identical rugs with completely new and empty, new vacuums and see which one picks up more volume in one pass.

  • The Kirby is still more expensive than the Dyson! Not to mention much heavier as well! I will stick with the Dyson. Everyone I have known that has a Kirby actually does not like them!

  • ok im a kirby salesman....first of all you messed up the carpet adjuster....secondly the bag....third the belt was most likely off.....fourth the new kirby has a life span of 53 years.....the dyson is a junk vacum....it suffers from line loss and if you look at the beater bar underneath the dyson you will see that there is only a small hose....this means that you have about 2 inches of suction power....kirby has been around for 96 years....i trade in dysons left and right...so nice try

  • The Kirby is more resourceful for the world as a whole. The Dyson is made to last for a limited time then be replaced within a few years. $1 donated to the right place will provide food and clothing for a child in India for a day. These companies that make things engineered for their own profit are the result of a market system. Take that labor, build a few wells, mass produce Kirby-like products, and there should be more than enough resourced for everyone to survive.

  • My Kirby a G4 is 15 yrs old it's never had a tune up but is now showing signs of fan wear IE tune up time. The bags on a kirby hold one gallon of dirt about 8-10lbs. As for suction or air flow the kirby is rated at 110 Cubic feet per second, I asked dyson and they told me their machine is rated at 45-60 CFM's which means if you start out with a new bag vs and empty canister the kirby will have higher air flow from the get go. The kirby also won't clog as easy as the dyson.

  • Keep in my nothing was said about the status of the bag in the kirby. Kirby bags are meant to be filled to a certain point before performance begins to degrade. Dyson had an empty canister, and by the looks of it kirby had a loaded, maybe overloaded bag.

  • Ok guys, first off, the Kirby shown is an older model Kirby, the Dyson is obviously newer. Why would anyone buy a Kirby after a Dyson if the Dyson worked better when comparing the two? (Kirby is the only one that actually lets you "test drive" your vacuum before you buy it, lol.) Also, the show in the background is Miss Spider's Sunny Patch, YAY for non sequitur lol.

  • I own a Kirby I thinks it's okay but I have a dirt devil that works better I never used or herd any thing about a dyson

  • @MrSpanglersean dyson is the best vacuum company that there ever was

  • Either one works as well as the other...the problem I have is that the Dyson claims to "Never lose suction" which, after owning one for 5 years I have found to be major b/s. If you don't change the filter below the canister and clean the inside of the canister center peice it loses suction bigtime. I will say that I get more dust in my face from emptying the Dyson than I do from throwing the Kirby bag away. I own a Kirby G-6 for upstairs and a Dyson DC-17 Animal for downstairs.

  • The appears Dyson cleans better because the brush roles are stiffer and because the dirt isn't compressed in that canaster. The Kirby has better sucton and will outlast that Dyson. Also the stiff brushes are hard of your carpet.

  • it might help if you set your height adjustment on the kirby correctly. from the highest level click it down till you hear it buzz, then one past it, you should not ever have it all the way down unless you are shampooing, i say this because it looked as though your height adjustment was allllll the way down.....just thought you would like to know

  • it might help if you set your height adjustment on the kirby correctly. from the highest level click it down till you hear it buzz, then one past it, you should not ever have it all the way down unless you are shampooing, i say this because it looked as though your hight adjustment was allllll the way down.....just thought you would like to know

  • if you want call a sales men tell them u have a old one they give you 200 towards a new one the new one is alot better

  • You know you're also saying here that your Kirby was expected to get all the dirt in a few passes, since the hallway is the dirtiest section of any home it is not expected to get all the dirt in one pass or even 3... The dyson is an inferior vac just due to its hosing and plastic construction. The hair you picked up with the dyson was actually carpet fiber. Dyson is infamous for cutting carpet with their plastic brushes.

  • It's so funny that you gay ass Kirby salesmen feel threatened for you job instead of ! watching youtube videos about how much better the dyson is don't you have a door to knock on and people to anoy!

  • see now the funny thing is did any one see her clean

  • did u know that the dyson was only 40$ at first no one baught it because a 40$ vacuum would not be good...they just jacked up the price and people started buying it....so u spent a ton of money on a 40$ vacuum...DE DE DE...look it up

  • @buckeye740ashville do you have a link or any reference to back up your claims? Just curious as Google isn't turning up any results.

  • can you send you r kirby to at hawaii to maui

  • @abcdefghijklmnop700 Yeah they have kirby distributes here that can do maintenance on your kirby, and upgrade you if you want a new one

  • kirby sales people are vindictive. They come knocking on your door, I tell them NO, and they just don't stop. I eventually just have to shut the door on them. When people say NO they mean no. Besides that $1,500 for a vacuum? NO THANKS. I don't care what it will do. No vacuum is worth that much.

  • you had the Kirby all the way down; this restricts proper airflow, cleaning ability and shortens belt life. To get the appropriate height adjustment, raise the nozzle all the way up. Turn on the Kirby, lower it one notch at a time until you hear a difference in motor tone. Then lower it one more notch and now your Kirby has sealed to the carpet and will clean much better than all the way down to the lowest setting possible.

  • You are right AdamMichealMercer, the Kirby was slightly handicapped by the full down position of the height adjuster. As to philp78 , the sales methods of Kirby nor the price of the Kirby have nothing to do with the performance of the machine. The plastic Dyson will be in a landfill long before the power cord on the Kirby needs to be replaced! LOL!

  • @Ulai777 LOL you can drive a car over the Kirby no doubt.. but it wont clean your carpets. I'd rather have a Dyson THAT work, and replace it every 3 years than a Kirby that Doesnt work that lasts forever..

LMAO. Peanuts are everywhere aren't they.

  • Did you take out a 2nd mortgage to buy a Dyson AND a Kirby?

  • Yup. Sold the car too. But I've got the cleanest house on the planet!

  • I think a comparison between a dyson 17(instead of 25) / kirby would have a closer comparison (supposing you had both).

  • IF you can afford the Kirby it is a high quality machine if you cant buy a Dyson , it has 1/3 the suction power but it is also 1/3 the price.

  • Im trying to decide between the two, video wasnt very effective. anyway to keep the camera on during the test?

  • I love my kirby, had a dyson ball. . Designed to pick up surface fluff. Kirby removes dirt underneath the rug!

  • Comment removed

  • I still have to pay to tune-up my Kirby though, to the tune of $75/yr, plus bags and belts. The dyson is $500 with a FULL 5 year warranty. At the cost of maintaining the Kirby I can just buy a new Dyson every 5 years. And my Kirby doesn't shampoo the carpet anymore, and no they don't just replace the broken PLASTIC parts of the shampooer for free.

  • @kegskius That kirby is H-O-T HOT! Love metal vacuums.

  • @kegskius Lies, The Kirby gets a tune up every 25 to 30 years and is $175 no more.

They replace everything. Both motors, trany, belt, bag, brush,,, Everything.

The Sentria by Kirby Is the ONLY Vacuum that can do a sand extraction so no matter what you face it to, Kirby will always win.

  • @OGLuv my Kirby didn't need a tune-up until it hit 5 years old. Since then it has needed one every year.

  • @kegskius How do you know when your kirby needs a tune up ?

  • @tjm52071 Mine starts to sound funny, doesn't seem to pickup as much and seems to go through belts a lot faster - those are the signs for me to take it in.

  • dyson suck get your money back well you still can you already have a good kirby!!!!!they are cheaply made. all plastic crapy warranty compared to kirbys lifetime warranty plus dyson cant shampoo the carpets. value is deffintly in the kirby
