  • The idiot who voted "dislike" should really FADE AWAY !!!

  • I'm always worried when someone covers such a great artist - but this should have been no. 1 - beautiful rendition !!!

  • Happy, thought provoking, brilliant remix of a cover of a great song... phew!!

The video is the beginning sequence of the also thought provoking and brilliant film "Contact"... Just puts me in a great mood..

  • Portal?

  • As of last night Todd was unaware that someone had covered this song. I told him to be sure to collect his royalties. LOL .Actually ,I've been trying to lobby him to perform this song as it is one of my faves. Simple, yet inspiringly personal.

  • lala land....I feel good

  • This is just wonderful! and shows how the genius of Rundgren was not appreciated by the wider public enough!

  • It's a super cover version :-)

  • not bad at all! Robin, that's a thought...funeral song...hmmm...todd's version, though.

  • Ruby,

  • Wonderful song and arrangement - never heard of them til now - one advantage of DAB saw the details on screen as I guess I missed the credits or they were not mentioned - it's not for the 'teeny boppers' - I guess that ages me !! ---- Like the guy from Mauchline it's in your head in a nice kind of way -I will follow the Mummers

  • where's the video from, reminds me of a sequence in Contact.

  • this is so beautiful. what a voice. i think i prefer this to the original. sorry Todd but thanks for the song

  • Absolutely beautiful - an immediate all-time favourite for me. Hope this cover does great things for The Mummers as that would be so well deserved. Superbly fitting video too - well done to whoever put that together. Happy days!

Also agree with digger2z - "Mink Hollow Road" is well worth a listen - only 6 tracks but all have something special to offer.

  • in a hundred million years when the planet disapears. Life on earth. will instantly die off. this is a more accurate version

  • Love your version !!!

like Todd already from along time ago, see also this nice version of one of his songs - youtube.com/watch?v=1pLTD23l468

I posted a few days ago - never done it twice before ..... but I'm sure I'm gonna do it more.

Seriously, my best mate Frank, who also appreciates REALLY good sounds emailed me to rave about this song also.

So, what can I say....... Please don't FADE AWAY Mummers for a long long while.

    Cheers

  • Sorry, meant to say good cover!.

  • Cover of the Todd Rundgren song from his album "The Hermit of Mink Hollow", 1978.

  • Heard it on Wrighty in the afternoon 3 weeks ago,had to do a search as he did not give name or artist, got on to itunes and bought the lot from the Mummers.....Truly EXCELLENT track.

  • Magical, reminds me of romantic nights in with the missus watching the telly!

  • This SOOOOO rips of a lovely band from the 90s called Dubstar...

  • Heard it on radio 2, so glad its on here :)

  • What a great video! Is this the official one or did you film this yourself? (har, har) The Mummers really are something special, aren't they, and I know what another viewer says about that 'lump in your throat' feeling...nothing to be ashamed of at any age, considering!

  • Heard this song for the first time this week on Steve Wright's afternoon show. Blows me away. Don't know why, but brings tears to my eyes (happy emmotional tears) and a massive lump in my throat. Must be my age! Well done the Mumties an absolutely fantastic sound and song.

Robin Topping - Mauchline, Ayrshre, Scotland. 12th Feb 2011

  • Great tune. They keep playing this on radio 2. It reminds me of three songs (for some reason) - Candy Flips version of 'strawberry fields', that song with the frogs in the video which Paul McCartney released one christmas, and one (or all) of the songs from the 1970 Willy Wonka Movie. Sorted.

  • Great justice to one of my favourite Todd songs !!! beautiful!!

  • @TheKunig , I new I had heard it before, love Todd Rungdren :)

  • this absolute quality music , thanx to the brighton mummers
