As of last night Todd was unaware that someone had covered this song. I told him to be sure to collect his royalties. LOL .Actually ,I've been trying to lobby him to perform this song as it is one of my faves. Simple, yet inspiringly personal.
Wonderful song and arrangement - never heard of them til now - one advantage of DAB saw the details on screen as I guess I missed the credits or they were not mentioned - it's not for the 'teeny boppers' - I guess that ages me !! ---- Like the guy from Mauchline it's in your head in a nice kind of way -I will follow the Mummers
Absolutely beautiful - an immediate all-time favourite for me. Hope this cover does great things for The Mummers as that would be so well deserved. Superbly fitting video too - well done to whoever put that together. Happy days!
Also agree with digger2z - "Mink Hollow Road" is well worth a listen - only 6 tracks but all have something special to offer.
Heard it on Wrighty in the afternoon 3 weeks ago,had to do a search as he did not give name or artist, got on to itunes and bought the lot from the Mummers.....Truly EXCELLENT track.
What a great video! Is this the official one or did you film this yourself? (har, har) The Mummers really are something special, aren't they, and I know what another viewer says about that 'lump in your throat' feeling...nothing to be ashamed of at any age, considering!
Heard this song for the first time this week on Steve Wright's afternoon show. Blows me away. Don't know why, but brings tears to my eyes (happy emmotional tears) and a massive lump in my throat. Must be my age! Well done the Mumties an absolutely fantastic sound and song.
Robin Topping - Mauchline, Ayrshre, Scotland. 12th Feb 2011
Great tune. They keep playing this on radio 2. It reminds me of three songs (for some reason) - Candy Flips version of 'strawberry fields', that song with the frogs in the video which Paul McCartney released one christmas, and one (or all) of the songs from the 1970 Willy Wonka Movie. Sorted.
The idiot who voted "dislike" should really FADE AWAY !!!
