Forget what thse people say (good or bad) - they don't really know what they're talkin' about - nobody knows anything anyway. I think that if you sing, whatever, full with confidence, you'll be a great singer - 'cos one thing is for sure: you DO have a great voice and you sing with your heart. With true passion. You sing great, you have a very good voice and a beautiful colour but I note that perhaps this song hasn't the apropiate key for you to sing. Try to change it finding other in the correct key to you. But, I must say :GREAT WORK :)
I'm sorry but it is indeed too low for you. And try to sing less nasal and sing the "did's" and "do's" in one tone please, that would make it much better. Keep singing, with more experience you'll get there for sure!!!
Thanks for the comment. I don't normally sing that nasally but I was on a steroid inhaler for my asthma at the time and it made me feel and sound like I had a constant cold, but it was one of the few times I had the chance to record so I took it while I could lol! Thanks anyway :)

I really appreciate that. My father was a musician and we realy bonded over music from the 50s and 60s. Crying, Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me, All Alone Am I...are all in my top favourite songs of all time despite my age. Why Crying by Roy?...My dad was killed in a motorbike accident 2 years ago and it took about a year for it to really sink in and even though in the song it's about someone seeing someone, I had memories, photos and many other things that made me cry.
The girl I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with was killed in a hit and run car accident 2 years ago. I was watching different versions of this song from other people because today is her birthday. But her favorite was American Pie by Don Mclean.

My only suggestion would be to put emotion into your singing throughout the whole song like you did at the end, and maybe take out the thingies in your mouth if they get in the way. You have a good look, and decent voice and if you do any writing you maybe could make it big time. I'd say try out for American Idol for real. LOL my piercings don't actually get in the way at all, if they did they would definitely be gone in an instant because singing is my life. I just stumbled on this, it is a hard song to sing as others have said, you managed it by not attempting to go as high as Roy as others do and fail.
I ended up singing this along with you after playing it over again.

Nice! I saw you in other vids playing guitar. Why don´t you try to play and sing it in F? I guess that would fit your voice even better and keep easy to play (for in this chromatism: F F+ Bb Bbm F you can replace the F+ with an A+ that happens to be the same chord in a different inversion).

You´ll do lovely with a F key. you can start by transposing a MIDI file in order to verify if my calculations are correct.

Fair enough that's your opinion. I'm not a follower actually I just like piercings, and most of my piercings I have had for years before they even became "cool". I no longer have the lip piercing since it became so mainstream I took it out as a matter of fact.

Hey I'm a big Roy Orbison fan and I have heard this song done by Kd lang and Dottie West. And to me you did a far better job then both of them. You sang that song like it was your own and that is what matter. you have a great voice.

I completely agree. And even though no one will be able to do it better than Roy, and no one could sing Unchained Melody better than the Righteous Brothers (and my dad, lol) I'm very glad people are watching my video of this anyway. I also would like to do Unchained Melody very soon.

I agree with one of the other comments made about your singing this song, toward the end you put more feeling into the song, its obvious just by your facial expressions that you put more into that part of the delivery of the song, put ALL of your feelings in the song, and post it again. I also would purchase a CD of 'your' version. You have a heart felt beautiful voice. Don't let negative feed back stop you. The more you apply yourself the better you will get.

Honey, you sing well, but your voice haven't got soul. Is like any other modern pop-voice, and I don't enjoy hearing those modern vocals arrangements or whatever you call it, not in a Roy Orbison's song, cause his voice was so clear, so simple and so out of times...
I hope don't disturb you, but is what I think.

great!! you have a strong and clear voice, that really stands out in this video. the soft background music only made your voice that much more enjoyable. in way too many songs today the music overpowers the vocals, and it all becomes just noise. thanks for singing this song the way Roy did, with the strong voice out front.

You did a wonderful job on this song, which is very tough to sing. The only big name singer I ever seen was Roy in the late 60's. What a voice he had. Keep singing Kiramaree.

My only suggestion would be to put emotion into your singing throughout the whole song like you did at the end, and maybe take out the thingies in your mouth if they get in the way. You have a good look, and decent voice and if you do any writing you maybe could make it big time. I'd say try out for American Idol for real. Good luck in your future if you want to be a professional entertainer. Take care.

Thanks for the comment and tips, I totally agree that I should have put a little bit more emotion into it, but I was too busy concentrating on the notes at the beginning where it is kinda low for me. LOL my piercings don't actually get in the way at all, if they did they would definitely be gone in an instant because singing is my life. I'm actually Australian and I will be trying out for Australian Idol next year, thanks so much for the comment again and I do appreciate the tips. Thanks :)
