Greatest RPG ever. Mainly because they didn't PC it up with a bunch of crybaby minority characters like they do most video games. Nice to see a story about the white man and his will to save the Earth.

I hated emerald mountain. Up and down and up and down that horrid mountain. Overall though the lost sanctum is really cool, and nice extra content.

Yes, they remade this game which first was a SNES version to a DS version. But now they also added some new things and much easier. Even though the graphics aren't that "good" for being playing on a DS, you should just enjoy the game as it is.

good game in the square enix series still not the best the best so far are: if you like fighting with monsters: Dragon quest monsters joker dragon quest if you like final fantasy final fantasy III (best job system ever) final fantasy A2 (good storyline, over 300 quests) final fantasy IV (best dialoges ever seen on DS, one of best storielines ever, good rpg best of square enix the world ends with you,you can just do soooo much on this game totally my nr1 best use of touchscreen

At first I was like "Ok, this should be interesting" but, at the at tenth time climbing up and down "Mount Dog Crap" just to get a freaking banana, I wanted to murder all the people in Square-Enix.

@G3LEBEL well...if your willing to go through some annoyance, you can get a incredible armro peice called the elemental aegis for lucca. it grants elemental imunity (in english spell imunity) and 92 defence. its only for lucca, but if you can stand spamming the mountain it may be worth yuour while, as it makes lucca invincable.

I hated the Lost Sanctum! The one thing I liked about it was that Nu Guardian/Master that was a boss. You know a Nu kicks ass when it's pitch black. Also, I liked the Master-at-Arms boss, although it should've had the 2nd boss theme instead to make it feel more like an epic fight, since it was the last boss of the Sanctum.

It saddens me how right I was about the new content. After checking out both of the new dungeons and also checking out the new boss, I'm sadly disappointed. The new boss is simply an old one in a different hue, the new dungeons have no new music, graphics, or bosses... it's just as lazy as the new content in the Final Fantasy Advance games, only now its $10 more. All the new ending does is tie this game to its horrible sequel. Good job at wasted potential, Square.

he's referring to chrono cross, which is the sequel on PS1 which you play as sergei (or at least one of the sequels, Radical Dreamers was the first sequel, but only available in Japan on the Super Famicon)

actually, chrono cross was praised for being a brilliant game by almost every reviewer. Plus the only ones who didn't like Cross were the ones who are hard core Trigger fans who were angry at the new cast of characters square introduced. Secondly, what other music do you want. CTDS basically used all the tunes that were left out in the SNES version. To go any farther than that would mean a whole new Chrono game. You have to remember that this is a port.

Chrono Chross was not a bad game by any means, and had incredible music, but it was nowhere near Chrono Trigger's standards. As for the cast of characters, making the decision to leave out all the originals is one thing, but to replace them with an overcrowded loony assortment, only 2/40 of which were actually any good, is pretty bad.

As for the DS extras, I just wish they added something substantial to the game, like to the mystery of Schala's whereabouts etc. something meaningful.

My friend, CC was amazing, and thank you for aknowledging that. Yes, it did have a bunch of random bunk characters. No RPG needs 40 characters, but that aside, it was fantastic. A lot of people don't like it because it's not a "true" sequel. By that, they want the same characters, roughly same plot, same same same. Also, they don't understand the plot. his upsets me because they lack thinking skills and refuse to use context clues in the game. I thought it bridged very well from CT to CC.
