It could have centered it on the room. I have installed these in odd places, and know for a fact there is a lot of flexibility (if you know what you are doing, and plan for it). They sell a cover to conceal any exposed copper. Mitsubishi takes a little to get used to their design, but after you install a couple it becomes rather routine. They are incredible devices. In areas like this video, they are your best option.
Our living room+dining room here in the Philippines is equipped with two Sanyo split-type ductless ACs.
Both units are 2.5 horsepower each IDK how much BTU it can put out but I think it's around 27,000 Btus if im not mistaken.
We bought Sanyo co'z its customer service is good plus it's cheaper than panasonic. Incredibly silent as well.

because people in usa often pay higher for any odd stuff, rather than checking actual price..

these units(mini split) are the norm here in europe mostly in houses
central air is rare in home installations but frequent in commercial-industry
i have three mini splits(heat pumps) in each room( i live in an apartment) and they are cheap here
i wonder why they are expensive in usa?
