  • A fable for our time.

  • Christianity requires you to individually help one another not collectively. Jesus did not force the Rich Young Man to give his money to the poor. He invited him to do so. He, the Savior, could not force the Rich Young Man to Heaven as he respected his agency so much that he would allow him to go to Hell instead of "making him" him choose the right. When we use Government to force money from some to pay to the others we get no credit in Heaven for some good deed. We must act as an individual.

  • @illustranimator you do realize that back then religion and politics were almost one int he same right? A true christian would advocate giving to the poor and helping out the community. Jesus also did not advocate letting people die or suffer. He helped people when he can. Jesus was a leader of his time. Our leaders should act in the same way.

  • @Kad5 What are you talking about? Politics and religion where the same thing back then? The Roman Empire controlled the politics in Jerusalem and eventually ousted the Jews and destroyed the Temple. Also the "King" in Jerusalem was an Arab also not a Jew as Jesus was. Jesus Said His kingdom was not of this world. His gospel apply to heavenly things and afterlife. I'm Just saying.

  • WHY DID HE NOT HEAL ALL THE SICK, AND OVERTHROW THE ROMANS?

  • @cjf3153 Jesus told his disciples to go and do likewise. His goal wasn't to do it all himself. He came to show the way.

  • @illustranimator

We don't receive 'credit' in Heaven for any deed. Almost all Christian Sects advocate a gospel of 'grace'- every person is sinful, but we're all saved by Jesus.

  • @Cheeso33 You most certainly do receive credit in heaven for the deeds you do..if you believe what the bible says. Matthew Chapter 6:19-20 is just one example: 19 ¶Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

  • @illustranimator

Please explain to me how, if Heaven is equally blessed for everyone, we are to be rewarded? Your bible quote promises neither rewards nor credit, only advice.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." -Ephesians 2:8.

See that? I can take quotes too! You are not saved by works. You do not get rewards for works. You need not boast.

  • @Cheeso33 Heaven is not equally blessed for everyone in the Bible. Salvation can come but there are varied degrees in Heaven. Jesus was asked who is the greatest in Heaven and he replied "Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven." Matt 18:4. also Matt 5;19 talks about being the least and greatest in Heaven. John Chapter 14 Jesus says there are many mansions in heaven. Paul talks about the 3rd Heaven. 2 Cor 12:2

  • @Cheeso33 it is true we are saved ultimately only by the Grace of Christ But Christ taught we will be rewarded for our works. Matt 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. Also Cor 3:8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.

  • @Cheeso33 Matt 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

  • Why is the music from Home Alone on here?

  • The perfect complement to this video is this video by Cindy Lee Berryhill, When Did Jesus Become a Republican.

  • Herman Cain said "if you're not rich it's your fault". His statement would make "SUPPLY SIDE JESUS" proud!

  • This is outstanding. Al Franken is at his best. The satire is an eye opener with incredible wit and purpose.

  • It's troublesome how this is still relevant.

  • @Psalms4Christ Well, to be fair, dude, this is a guy that lived two thousand years ago and could have no conception of the future possibilities of economic prosperity that could happen after the industrial revolution, and the "charity" that could be done through government intervention because of economies of scale. I mean the guy was a carpenter/preacher from Judea, not an economist.

  • Wow, I've never seen so much satire worked into 5 minutes in my life.

    Genius!

  • A major theme of the the bible is that God's people care for the poor, not the current "Romans". Additionally, Jesus makes it clear that the poor will always be with us, so don't expect government to solve the problem of the poor; it won't.

  • @Psalms4Christ So, where exactly in the New Testament does Jesus actually say that governments should have no role whatsoever in relieving the burdens of the poor? I honestly don't recall him ever saying "Please make sure that the rich have lower tax rates than their servants, because they earned it."

  • @Psalms4Christ A major theme is that it is CHRISTIANS who should see it as their duty to help the poor. I don't recall Jesus ever saying that one's occupation precluded them from having to champion the traits Jesus himself embodied in his life.

But, that's the rub, isn't it? The Christians who identify with right-wing policies are Christian in name only. CINO, I guess? They're not interested in being Christ-like, just going through the motions of being Christian for political gain.

  • It's the "American" Jesus, not the real one. Would be funny if the truth didn't hurt so much.

  • This version of Jesus reflects the "Christian World View's" view of Jesus. This is what Michele Bachmann and Rick Perry types think Jesus taught. It is twisted and sick. I am not religious but I take offense to Bachmann and others trying to bastardize Jesus's great name and legacy.

  • @Lbfent2 No one gives a shit about the bible, but if you claim to follow it, Jesus DOES talk at length about loving the poor. I guess if you starve and deny basic rights to the people you love you can justify being a conservative. Then again, no one does cognitive dissonance like a righty.

  • @Lbfent2 Don't lump all leftists into a Stalinesque state-based capitalism. Read into real anarchist and communist theory and you'll see that instead of "government confiscation and redistribution of wealth" the real left advocates a removal of the conditions which allow one man to be insanely rich while a family can hardly feed their children, including the entire capitalist system of single people owning land and means of production instead of the community as a whole.

  • This Guy Jesus Looks a bit like Murray Rothbard

  • Who are the 5.3% of voters who disliked this video? This video is great. The Republican Party is comprised opposing groups: one group is the Religious Right, which claims to love the Bible. Alongside them are the economic libertarians, many of whom seem to think Jesus' teachings were nonsense, and who think Ayn Rand is God - Ayn Rand who hated Christianity. Isn't it strange that the Democrats don't exploit this incompatibility more often?

  • NO MORE LIKES! Perfect 666 likes.

  • oh my god... 666 likes... ironic much?

  • Absolutely fantastic! Very well done. The voices are all professionally done. And the message oh so true! The right-wing mepublicans have hijacked the true message of Jesus, which is very compassionate.

  • @Celticwomanfanpiano -Bingo! Totally hijacked the message of the Cross.

  • Wow, I can't believe how many so-called Christians don't get the joke here. Al Franken is Jewish, and he wrote this satire. I'm Jewish, and I understand the satire.

Try reading your Bible and see what Jesus said about the poor. A major theme of both Old and New Testaments is that the poor must be given charity, compassion, and justice. Yet so many politicians constantly brag about being Christian, but insist that the poor should be left to suffer! These are the worshipers of Supply Side Jesus.

  • @anemone9 HEY! I find that offensive!

I'm not Jewish and I understand the satire as well.

  • @anemone9 DURR HERPA DERF. IMMA JEW SO I GOTTA ESPLAIN THIS ONE 2 U GUAIZ. YOU C OUR PEOPLE ARE VWERY CHARITABLE AND COMPASSIONATE (ERGO THIS SATIRIC VIDEO WAS MADE BY A JEW). I AM ALSO A JEW SO I MUST ESPLAIN DIS 2 U SO-CALLED CHRISTIANS. JESUS WAS ALL ABOUT THE LUB AND GIBBING STUFF TO THE POOR (HE WAS A JOO AFTERALL). THERE YOU HAB IT, MY STUPID CHRISTIAN BRETHEN. HOPEFULLY YOU FIND YOUR WAY BACK TO GOD. /SHALOM/

  • @glukaschlok Thanks, so much, for dumbing it down, right into the dirt. Way to go.

  • I love it!. I never would have imagined a Truman Capote voice for Pontius Pilot. Very weird.

  • @Calumetto Yeah, I was expecting Ponty to say, "Why don't you come back to my place, Supply Side Jesus?"

  • The wealthy made themselves richer during the Depression. It's the dumbed down masses that haven't learned the well establish game of tanking the economy, collecting up everybody's properties so they own everything, and getting labor for pennies on the dollar.

  • I remember the time Jesus threw those who were not money changers out of the temple and told them to go get a f'king job. Good times.

  • Comment removed

  • @politizoid I'm sure he could sum up the harry potter story for you too, I'm not sure why anyone would find that ability noteworthy.

  • Comment removed

  • So that was the real reason the Roman Empire fell.

  • Yay supply side Jesus! The real one was a complete loon. As with all other self proclaimed prophets.

  • Libertarian Communism is the way for humanity

    Communism>>>>>>>capitilism

  • Perfectly nailed the right-wing/ religious right/ tea-psychos.

  • @revbookburn yet, you support murdering of babies. who's the psycho again?

  • @StrengthFromAbove83 The Taliban wannabees who are fighting against women's right to choose and all other adult freedoms.

  • And he would answer and say to them, "The man who has two tunics is to share with him who has none; and he who has food is to do likewise." Luke 3:11

I can't wait for some conservative half-wit to refute words from his/her beloved Bible.

  • "Jesus weren't so socialest" - a dumbass

"And all that believed were together, and had all things common; And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved." Acts 2:44-47

  • If Jesus was a supply-side capitalist, why did he throw the money changers out of the temple? Shouldn't he have welcomed them with open arms?

  • @trenteugene because they were using God's house to do business transactions. It had nothing to do with anything but that.

  • With reference to the first bit of my last comment, look these up:

"John Piper and the Prosperity Gospel"

"Why I Abominate the Prosperity Gospel"

  • The prevalent "prosperity gospel" (see John Piper's videos) disgraces the name of Jesus the Christ, the Son of the Living God. It is better to suffer for His name than be prosperous and honored apart from Him. Though there is much responsibility upon the prosperous, prosperity is not evil in itself. Government coerced generosity undercuts the individual’s ability to willingly live by principles of love, compassion, and justice commanded by Jesus and opens the state up to abuse of its own powers.

  • Utter nonsense

Alms are a compulsory part of torah, and, as such, Jesus would see alms as compulsory

  • Al Franken is a moron.

  • LOL.

Seriously, there's Christians on here trying to argue that Jesus actually, really, truly WAS a "free market capitalist."

    You people sure are brainwashed.

  • @TheOrcasRule brainwashed? no. We actually know how to read the Bible in CONTEXT. Not pick and choose like a buffet.

  • So the hold property in common? The handing over of all monies?

  • @TheOrcasRule Holy shit. We're so doomed.

  • Awesome. making fun of Jesus AND acting as if Jesus was a hippie socialist. Too bad the bible preaches free market capitalism throughout..... I'm a Christian.... read the Bible every day and study it.

  • Free market capitilism? Hahahahahahahahaha

Jesus had more in common with Che Guevara

  • @cajjer you obviously have never read the Bible. and... you're most likely an "useful idiot" for socialism.

  • Useless idiot is more accurate

But please point out the freemarket ideas to me

Middle Eastern societies didn't (don't?) even have a notion of individuality, let alone ideas of indivual enterprise

  • @cajjer Oh they don't? You've never heard of Israel?

  • That's the modern state of Israel, based largely on European and American immigration

Ancient societies didn't have individual enterprise; look how the settlements were built

Not forgetting that they were (and today, still are) under the Patron/Client system which demands extreme fielty to the Patron (Cf. Deut 6:4ff)

Now, where is this freemarket Bible?

  • It's the Jesus the republicans wish they had!

  • @Heavensrun too bad FREE MARKET CAPITALISM is throughout the Bible... Jesus wasn't a hippie liberal.

  • @StrengthFromAbove83

Jesus preached about giving away everything you own to follow him, and talked about giving generously to those less fortunate than you. He specifically decried material wealth. The line from this animation about "It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven" is a quote from the Jesus of the Bible.

Jesus was the hippiest liberal who ever lived (if he did). And it's rather sad that I know your holy book better than you do.

  • @Heavensrun no. Jesus SPECIFICALLY ASKED WEALTHY people to test them and see if they'd be willing to give up what was IMPORTANT to them to follow Him.

I know the Bible, I read it daily... It's simply saying you can't buy your way into heaven through good works alone or the wealth you have. THAT is the meaning of those types of verses. Read the greek and hebrew to understand what "wealth" means in those verses. You have to look at the CONTEXT of the verse.

  • @StrengthFromAbove83 You is exactly for whom this was made - those that choose to interpret Christ's teachings as promoting wealth and capitalism to justify a comfortable living style.

Nevermind that Jesus said to give up all you have to the poor, that it's easier for a rich man to pass through a needle into heaven, and that he was born in a barn, and that the first to hear the news of his birth were shepherds - nobodies.

    Also, "I'm a Christian, I read the bible" isn't a compelling argument.

  • @CheckAssumptions you obviously have no clue. Jesus was asking ONE MAN to give all he had to the poor TO SEE IF HE WAS WILLING TO GIVE WHAT WAS IMPORTANT TO HIM TO FOLLOW JESUS. I do NOT live comfortably. I make just enough money to be considered in poverty.

How about, I'm a Christian and I study greek and hebrew texts and understand what the ENTIRE Bible is about. I don't just pick and choose sad talking points to TRY to "prove" my point. I have a thorough understanding of the text.

  • @Heavensrun Jesus DID, in fact, live AND performed miracles.... even NON-Christian scholars have recorded that in history. Jesus was not a hippie. If you have ever READ the Bible, you'd know that almost EVERY book in the Bible teaches free market capitalism. Like it or not, do the research... I'm right.

  • @StrengthFromAbove83

    citation needed.

  • @Heavensrun citation for? Jesus performing miracles? non-Christian scholars admitting Jesus existed?

  • @StrengthFromAbove83

Yes. (and the miracles bit you'd have to cite outside of Christian sources. Good luck with that.)

Also interested to see how you adapt the lessons of Christ like "give people more than they ask your for" and "give up all your crap if you want to follow me" into "be a capitalist".

  • @Heavensrun I didn't say that specific reference was about capitalism. Jesus being God (as it says numerous places THROUGHOUT the Bible and is a central THEME of the Bible)... it is written in VARIOUS books of the Bible the principles of capitalism.

  • @StrengthFromAbove83

Like? Demonstrate. Citation needed. Prove it. EVIDENCE.

  • @StrengthFromAbove83

    [lol_wat?_pear.jpg]

  • @Heavensrun "give up all your crap and follow me" was in reference to when he ASKED a RICH MAN if he was WILLING to give up all he had to follow Jesus. He never ORDERED anyone to give up all they had. It was asking to test how committed they were to the gospel and the cause of Jesus.

  • @StrengthFromAbove83

What, was it just itching your panties that I didn't care enough to reply to this when you mentioned it the first time? Jesus, if he was real and the biblical accounts have -any- reality to them, spent a life serving people and alleviating suffering. He gave everything of himself for the benefit of others, and he asked his followers to do the same. By -example-, he taught to give for your fellow man. Reconcile that with the fundamental selfishness of capitalism. -Try-.

  • @Heavensrun giving is not the same as "spreading the wealth". Jesus was not a socialist.

  • @StrengthFromAbove83

Socialism is just an economic system, and a fairly advanced one at that. Jesus couldn't have been a socialist any more than he could be an electrical engineer, because the idea didn't exist in his time. What he -was-, however, was a pretty hippie liberal kinda guy who preached about not trying to accrue wealth, not to be greedy, and not to hate or judge your fellow man. His teachings were about giving to those less fortunate to minimize suffering on earth.

  • @Heavensrun Jesus never preached against having wealth. why? because there is nothing wrong with making money.

  • @StrengthFromAbove83

"How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God."

This is not ambiguous There is no tricky language here. Either Jesus is saying that wealth is immoral, or he's lying to test the faith of a man who has simply asked what is required for him to get into heaven.

  • @Heavensrun context is everything my friend. context. Read the chapter.

  • @StrengthFromAbove83

I've read the chapter. It's full of parables about the evil of greed, and the salvation of men who renounce avarice. It features teachings about generosity and kindness. He commends the widow who gives all she can to charity. There is no denying that Jesus valued charity and disdained wealth.

"No one can serve two masters."

The irony is that I don't disdain capitalism nor am I a believer. But you are deluding yourself if you think scripture justifies capitalism.

  • @Heavensrun you are HALF correct. Jesus valued love for your fellow man, yes, but he never disdained wealth. He encouraged people to not let money be the OBJECT of their lives is what you are reading. He NEVER said money was evil. He said the LOVE of money was the root of all evil.

  • It's easier for a camel etc isn't disdaining?

The parable of Lazarus and the rich man?

Woe to the Rich in Luke's Sermon on the Plain?

Telling the young man to give away all that he has?

  • @cajjer He TOLD people to give away all they had or did he ASK IF THEY WERE WILLING??

  • Mark 10:21: Jesus looked straight at him with love and said, "You need only one thing. GO AND SELL ALL YOU HAVE and give the money to the poor, and you will have riches in heaven; then come and follow me."

Matthew 19:21: Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, SELL YOUR POSSESSIONS and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

Luke 18:22: When Jesus heard this, he said to him, "You still lack one thing. SELL EVERYTHING YOU HAVE and give to the poor.

  • @cajjer good job...now, how about post it IN CONTEXT of the chapter. Can you do that as well? That was when Jesus was SPECIFICALLY SPEAKING to ONE PERSON... It does NOT mean EVERYONE should sell everything to follow Jesus. It is simply an example... are YOU willing to give everything to follow Jesus? Are you willing to leave your friends and family behind if you had to? Are you willing leave YOUR GREAT LEADER, OBAMA behind?

  • Slight problem

    1. I'm not an American

    2. Obama's a right winger, with no concept of Communism

    3. Good point about the giving up things to follow Jesus. Evidently I'm not

    4. How is Charity capitalism? Charity's making a sacrifice for another's benefit. Capitalism's the pursuit of profit for yourself; the two are opposites

  • @cajjer Obama's a right-winger? LMAO!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! YEAH. not so much.

  • "Fraid so

Maybe not in the US, where fairness equals evil Commie socialism

You're right, everyone is equal before God, so that's how I want the world to be

The earliest Christian community in Jerusalem held all proprty in common, so no-one went without

None of this 'it's mine, so hands off nonsense' that's inculcated into the Western mind from birth

  • @cajjer Everyone is equal under God? Not entirely. If that were true, then the bible verses about "if you don't work, you don't eat" wouldn't make sense. That exact phrase is not obviously found, but the PRINCIPLES of it are throughout the Bible.

Nonsense? LOL! So you should be able to come onto MY LAND and do whatever you want? Under YOUR ideals... there is NO PRIVACY. Wow, you'd think people like you would SUPPORT the Patriot Act with talk like that.

  • So you're writing the Bible in YOUR image? (Can't find the phrase, ffs)

    PROPERTY IS THEFT

As for the Patriot Act: I'm not American, and hate patriotism wherever it is

NO BORDERS, NO MASTERS - Anarchy is freedom

  • @cajjer Writing the Bible in my image? no. If you actually read and study it on a daily basis, you'd know what it says. I'm not gonna spoon feed you. Especially since you don't give a crap about order or law. Property is theft? lol... yeah... fair warning... don't come to the states and try to just walk onto someone's property because "anarchy is freedom" and "property is theft"... you'll get shot.

  • Are you the big man with the gun? Whoooooh, big yankee likes to shoot people to protect his telly

Anarchy is order, but law is bullshit, mate; there to protect the rich

And you can't spoon feed me your Biblical quotes, cos you don't know 'em

NO LAW, NO BORDERS, NO MASTERS: Anarchy is freedom

  • @cajjer Charity sure isn't a socialist idea.... since socialism wants EVERYONE to be equal.

  • @cajjer just an FYI.... charity is capitalism.

  • @Heavensrun I could send you a link to the e-book to read the entire study of how the Bible encourages a free market.

  • @StrengthFromAbove83

Feel free. I'd be interested to read the arguments, anyway.

  • @StrengthFromAbove83 Yeah you'd need to cite another book besides the New Testament to support your argument. You should be able to see people misuse the Bible to justify all kinds of worldly pursuits, this being one of them. It really is just another form of the Golden Calf.

  • @Heavensrun actually Jesus' message was about love and telling people about him so they didn't go to hell for the sinful lives we are born into. THAT was Jesus' message.

  • Comment removed

  • @Heavensrun for miracles from NON-Christian sources... try google. I don't need to do research FOR you.

  • @StrengthFromAbove83 No, you need to do research for -you-. Because I'm willing to bet you haven't, and you shouldn't make claims that you haven't researched. Everything I've seen is perfectly consistent with the claim that Jesus -existed- (just not enough to be historically conclusive), but I have seen no sources that independently verify any of the miracle stories. You're the one making a claim. You should be prepared to back it up with evidence.

  • @Heavensrun uh yeah. I HAVE done the research. That's pretty much why I brought it up. Were you the one that I also sent the entire Bible pointing to free-market capitalism?

  • @StrengthFromAbove83

If you've done the research, why is it so much trouble to point me to references that confirm your claims? You should, if you have done the research, already -know- your sources.

  • @Heavensrun It's not "hard" for me to give you references. I just gave you some in your inbox. I'm always reluctant to give resources to democrats and liberals because if it's not from CNN or a similar source, they usually automatically dismiss it.

  • @StrengthFromAbove83

Well, where you're talking about references here is in response to me asking for evidence of your claims that non-christian sources attest to Jesus's existence and miracles, not the WMD thing.

  • @Heavensrun Cornelius Tacitus (55-120 AD), "the greatest historian" of ancient Rome. Gaius Suetonius Tranquillas, chief secretary of Emperor Hadrian (117-138 AD). Flavius Josephus (37-97 AD), court historian for Emperor Vespasian. Pliny the Younger, Roman governor of Bithynia in Asia Minor around 112 AD. The Jewish Talmud, compiled between 70 and 200 AD. Those are some.

  • @Heavensrun Al Franken is a tool... just like Rosie O'Donnell. Al Franken is against Christians just like Rosie being anti-gun (which is hilarious since she has BODY GUARDS that carry guns).

  • @Heavensrun I suppose you'd also like proof that WMDs were in Iraq and were sent to Syria?

  • @StrengthFromAbove83

I...Yes? Yes I would like proof that WMDs were in Iraq and were sent to Syria. As a general rule of thumb, I like having evidence for things before I believe them, particularly with regards to claims that involve using my tax dollars to pursue a war that results in the deaths of innocent people.

  • @Heavensrun um. what war HASN'T killed innocent people? it's war. it happens sometimes. More innocents were killed during WW2.

  • @StrengthFromAbove83

Yes, exactly! When you have wars, innocent people die.

-Which is why it is immoral to begin a war on false pretenses-.

  • @Heavensrun what false pretenses? lol. al Qaeda was and is a threat. They WERE and ARE in Iraq today.

  • Wonderful. I'm a sincere Catholic and these guys nailed His real message.

  • In the "Acknowledgements" section of "Lies and the Lying Liars...", Al says that the original idea for Supply Side Jesus came from Bradley Whitford, the actor who played Josh Lyman on "The West Wing."

  • The sad thing is that it isn't that far from a number of crooked televangelists.

  • @YaoiHuntressEarth Wonderully said. It describes a version of the sick "Prosperity Theology" which is actually a twisted version of Calvinsim (as if that wasn't twisted enough!!).

  • @beerbrain420 That one. The idea of God pre-determining who goes to heaven or hell always seemed a little messed-up to me.

  • @YaoiHuntressEarth Oh yeah, messed-up to me too!! The Calvinist idea of "predestination" actually contradicts the concept of "free will." Of course, if God is supposed to be omnipotent, then wouldn't he know what's going to happen anyway, so wouldn't THAT preclude free will? It's a confusing conundrum that theologians have always had a problem explaining.

  • William Bennet Iscariot! LOL!

  • Hooray! Why is democracy with socialist interjections such an effing disgrace? Most of the world has this! America has got to stop being the arrogant, Conservative mess that it is, and start getting smart. Or else we may never become the country that prides itself on leaving a more prosperous nation for our children to inherit!

  • @SusanKristy ACTUALLY, if you keep up with current events, you'd know that is not true. The rest of the FREE world is trying to go back to how American USED TO BE and stop following socialism.

  • @StrengthFromAbove83 Support your argument with facts, details. I hope you're not referring to Russia, India and China. Those countries suffer from massive corruption and pollution. I bet you haven't even really traveled.

  • @kittensandlipstick you bet I haven't traveled much? Does Zimbabwe and the UK count?

  • Art by Don Simpson.

  • @damnyoustamos Don Simpson is cool.

  • Disgraceful.

  • i like it

  • HA HA HA thats the conservative bible

  • I think Karen Ignagni should be the "Mary Magdalene" figure for Supply Side Jesus.

    She's got what it takes.

  • wow, i can really see how this might be infuriating to some people. i can FEEL it. its pure, and specific, genius! but, people don't like being nailed to the wall.

  • @p0lyamorous

    or a cross

  • Great cartoon kinda Ironic that the republicans have the Christian base... unless the evangelicals are just fake Christians!! If your a true Christian you should probably be a Pro Life Liberal. Get the best of both worlds help the less fortunate and save the children. Join my page Pro Life Liberals on Facebook

  • The 'free market' can't exist at all without greed, jealousy, and pride. It should come as no surprise ethics generally have an inverse proportion to profits.

  • This isn't making me laugh!

  • this reminds me of a doctor seuss cartoon made from one of his books. :P I have lies and the lying liars who tell them and its an okay book (except that part about the environment) but this was the funny part.

  • When the most wealthy crooks take over the free market and take over Congress (and state legislatures), the free market is no longer free. So arguing principles when only the unprincipled rule is just stupid. It's not about the principles, it's about dishonesty. That's what the Supply Side Jesus Story is all about.

Anyone who uncritically advocates for the free market hasn't thought through to the logical end point: total rule by corporations.

  • Very true, my friend. It's something most free-market advocates don't think about.

  • @Dunkleosteus3691 The free market has ALWAYS been free. It's CORRUPTION and ELITISM that ruins it. We can thank RINO Repubs and Liberal Dems for that.

  • Amazing :)

  • @kosimpson Whether or not you agree with his politics, at least he has the balls to take a chance and run for office, rather than just whine about what's wrong and do nothing about it (cough cough Glenn Beck, Alex Jones, Limbaugh, etc.)

  • Social Security hasn't failed. Medicare hasn't failed, except for the prescription drug corporate windfall part that the RIGHT pushed through Congress in 2003 with underhanded tactics.

Supply side economics has failed. Lassaiz faire financial markets have failed. The Laffer curve has failed. Reagan failed. The Bushes failed.

    You're full of crap.

  • No, it's not the market's fault. It's the fault of the greedy, unethical people who participate in the market, and the people who are in their pockets, who de-regulate for them.

I don't think you know what you're talking about. Miltion Friedman was wrong. Now STFU you POS.
