Fact: The U.S. demographic landscape is changing. It's not from outside but from within (12 + million of undocumented migrants).
Fact 2: Not all undocumented migrants are from Mexico.
Fact 3: People do not migrate to become criminals (wrong a leads to b theory).
The best we can do as a nation is embrace the change. Good for AFN setting the stage for discussion.

All you have to do is look at California's criminal population problem to verify that one. It's a proven fact the Mexican Govt. encourages and assists the undesirables to cross the border into the US. Now there are some decent folks trying to make a better life for themselves, sure. Just do it legally!

@revansatoda According to official U.S. government estimates over 30% of illegal aliens in America join a gang. They also make up a disproportial percentage of our prison population for crimes other than simply living here illegally. Also in many U.S./Mexico border cities kidnapping our rampant. In some cities it's more than 1 a day. Also the large majority of illegal immigrants are the dregs of Mexican society. Mostly low skilled and from rural areas. Why would we want immigrants like that?

Sadly, there's no way for most immigrants now here without documents to have arrived legally. We need comprehensive immigration reform so they can enter legally. My experience differs from yours: immigrants I know want to be legal. I agree that we need to screen people entering. Current system is a disaster. @BorderExplorer Why should tens of millions of Mexicans be allowed to be given American citizenship? I've been to Mexico several times and it's not exactly a 3rd world hell hole. Mexico is one of the richest countries in the world. Just because the average Mexican makes less than the average American doesn't exactly mean they're living in crushing poverty. Their cost of living is much lower than ours. So I don't buy the whole "but they're so poor and desperate!" nonsense.

They then illegally smuggle most of that money back to their relatives at home in Mexico. The U.S. government estimates that hundreds of billions of U.S. dollars are being smuggled back into Mexico every single year in this way. That's coming right out of our economy.

The anti-immigration side doesn't want to take illegality off the table. It's hard to rail against immigration when it's legal. The GOP spent the last decade or more demonizing immigrants, immigration, and Latinos, while supporting policies to drive immigration into a black market of smuggling and false documents because legal channels are blocked and routes to legal status don't exist. If people become citizens (like every generation of immigrants before them), they'll remember. Truth hurts.
