Bills views do little to foster useful debate and much to delay the onset of truth. A journalist strives to present truth through facts, and not promote bias, or worse, bigotry. My only problem with it is that it is against the law and that it is a form of Torture. If water-boarding wasnt illegal I would be ok with it. It works! It is wrong in any way, because many of those people might not even be terrorists, but they can still be confined for an unlimited amount of time and tortured, simply because someone "suspects" they are terrorists, or, more likely, because they are Muslim so they look like terrorists. Watch a movie "The road to Guantanamo" which is the true story about three guys who were held in Guantanamo for 2 years for nothing. How many times did that happen and the story was left untold?

The Geneva Convention outlines(starving prisoner, sleep deprivation, etc) what are fair torture practices, WATERBOARDING(which the republicans seem to love) is not a fair torture practice. All it does is get false information out of P.O.W's. I understand we are dealing with MANIACS in Hamas, the Taliban and Al-Queda, but violating torture laws is not the solution.

I thought that the foundations of America was its emphasis on the rights of the individual and on universal human dignity. If you begin to sacrifice these basic principles, your moral standing in the world is called into question. I would have thought that would be a top priority, both in terms of national security and maintaining the strong sense of pride and patriotism within America.
