There is a you tube video called "Subaru AWD vs everyone else" that says an XC90 can't do this. Especially the hill climb part. It's nice to see this video showing otherwise.
@azlizalinah On my '06 XC90 you can only turn the Spin Control off. Traction Control and Active Yaw Control cannot be turned off. My manual says Spin Control should be turned off when going through deep snow or deep sand. Don't know if it's the same on the '09 XC90. You can turn the DSTC completely off on the S60 with 5 button pushes. Probably because it's a sports car.
Fr: Durant nos tests, nous ne modifions pas le véhicule, ce test a été fait avec les pneumatiques d'origine. Une image des pneumatiques est visible dans le numéro 40 de notre magazine.
Us: During our tests, we don't modify the car, we don't change the tyres. This test has been done with the default tyres. You can see a picture of the tyres into the number 40 of our Intenet site.
Anyone who says an XC90 isn't a good off road vehicle needs to see this, that was done on crappy street tyres that pack up in the mud, if you were to put on some BFG M/T's or Pit bull radials this thing would go anywhere you point it

@Moparornocar74 Yeah but the under body and sheet metal isn't made durable enough to overcome obstacles

Hi!
This is an in-line 6, not a V6 (if it's the 3.2 petrol engine)!
The D5 is an in-line 5 cylinder diesel engine...
Only the V8 is a V-arranged engine (from Yamaha)...
And next time without the child, please... ;)
But anyway, thanks for the video, nice one! It shows well the off-road capabilities of the XC90, i enjoyed it! :)
