Barricade IS in the 3rd Movie, and THATS when hes killed. In the end of the first movie he is sent to go and get what was left of Frenzy and see if he could find anything else at the scene where he died. He wasn't in the second one because it is set in the Dessert and his alt form (police car) can not move on sand. V.V he isnt dead until the 3rd movie.

So he did so and low and behold you have the reason why he came back in Transformers 3. If you don't believe me then read the comic book series Reign of Starscream. That's where I got all my information.

When Barricade regained his conscience he asked Starscream what happened. Starscream told him and told Barricade to stay on earth and to keep a low profile. Barricade asked why and Starscream said that he wanted Barricade to be a spy and spy on the Autobots, Sam and Mikeala (or however you spell her name). So Barricade did so and didn't intervene with anybody (including the Deceptecons) for about five to six years until Starscream came back to him and told him to come back to them.

Since Starscream was the lone surviving Deceptecon of the first Transformers movie he was the only one who could do anything to recruit and find new Deceptecons. So that's what he did in the interquel comic book series Reign of Starscream. He knew that Barricade was missing from the battle and had a feeling he was still alive. So he went out looking for him at the darkest of night. He found him in the pit full of rocks and he booted up Barricade's systems again and as a result he woke up.

Light bulb! I just found out what REALLY happened to Barricade! So here it is. While he was driving to the battle that was about to take place he ran into Ironhide. Ironhide got into a scrap with him and knocked him off the road and into a pit full of rocks and all that so that no one could see him or anything. So that's why nobody saw him during the battle. He was badly injured as well. Barricade was left there unconscious for a while until the events of the first Transformers film ended.

What happened to Barricade was and still technically is unknown. I guess that while he was driving towards to the battle somebody attacked and he could have been unconscience for a while before Megatron secretly saved him. Or he could have easily meet Megatron in secret and disappeared and went somewhere for about four years until the battle in Chicago began in Dark of the Moon. But he got killed and he blew up so it was just a lonely cameo.

Barricade is the only Transformer to vanish and not die, Also he was to be in part 3 but was written out of script when it was found out studio was going to blow him up,Owner said no-way. Michael Bay did not want to use digital because he overdid part 2. So real explosives were to be used. Also Mr Saleen has left Saleen company and ordering them to build a replica Barricade was not cost effective. I should know, I own the Original Barricade-1 of 3. The decepticon that looks like bonecrusher in second movie isnt bonecrusher, if you know about transformers you should know that they scan the vehicles. so the decepticon at the second movie scaned the same vehicle as bonecrusher now that bonecrusher is dead. and barricade dies in 1st movie as this video shows (what this guy of the video shows makes sense) cause optimus smells something after killing bonecrusher and he appears affter a long time in the final battle in the city.
