The problem with Nuts & Bolts wasn't in the vehicle building, that was actually fun and interesting. The problem was that the levels were overly large wastelands that provided very little to do with the vehicles. Had they made more platformer-esque levels that gave you options on how to go about them with the vehicles it would have been fine.

I personally thought Tooie was better than the first one.

Its way bigger, levels were more quirky, hub world was way bigger, there are plenty of bosses, and when humba turns you into something your formation actually does something. Like the bee, for instance. You can fly around and shoot.
