I think I did the opposite with one of my citrus. I under watered and have leaf drop and some die back on some branches. I think I will unpot it to take a look and maybe put it into a smaller pot. See if you can find turface in your area and google it in reference to citrus potting mix. I put my first citrus into a pot that was too big and used the palm and cactus mix and I guess that's one of the worst soils to use. How did the roots look when you repotted?
@NewEnglandgardening I used nursery mix and vermiculite. the others love it. i just didn't realize that i was watering it too much. Now i know and now everything is loving it. I also now use some low acid fertillizer and they seem to really enjoy that. Miracle fruit likes it too.
@NewEnglandgardening when i looked at the roots they seemed fine and the bottom half was trying to grow. so im wondering if it just got sick with something that it couldn't recover from. the root ball was very small. i could have probably kept it in the smaller pot longer.
@MIgardener ya, i'm not sure if it is or not. i was reading something where people changed out the soil and it went away also another gave the plant just a small watering with a teaspoon of bleach and they said it works.
I knocked nearly all the wet soil off and planted it in dry potting mix with worm castings. I figure what soil i had left on it will dry up with the dry soil around it. so far doesn't look worse than it did before i transplanted it.
@SleestaksRule hmm. interesting. i was reading and saw that just a teaspoon of bleach in some water might get rid of the rot too. however i wonder how that would affect the plant.

In hydroponics I add a little hydrogen peroxide to the water but not sure if that works for soil plants. That's cool that you got fruit indoors!
