Yes, but surprisingly the trains often seem to still run fine even in light rain... though unfortunately with Welsh weather being what it is, ie wet quite alot of the time, it does limit the days of full running to mostly sunny ones :-)
@craigowen1 I have lost count of the number of times people have asked me "doesn't the track get wet if it rains?" lol. I too find that you can run trains in light rain and as can be seen from my videos you can also run them in snow! Lovely line you have there but I'd imagine it's a bit nightmarish cleaning all that track ready for running!
Yeah, I'd be interested to find out how people manage to mount cameras on the front of model engines... I;m guessing they must be v small! If I crack it I'll let you know, or if someone reading this knows how to do it, please drop me a message!
@craigowen1 There are special cameras manufactured for this purpose which can be fitted inside a locomotive I believe, although I cannot recall the name of the makers. I love your weathering on the locos by the way.
@craigowen1 get a long flat-bed wagon place the camera on that then fix it with thick elastic bands but you can only go fairly slow and a track either side cant be used unless the camera is very skinny. have you ever had the wind blow a loco of the track??
It's not perfect, and struggles to focus on curves (check out my videos!) but a friend of mine gave me a little camera, she got it as a freebie with a decent digital camera from Jessops. Apparently they retail for about £50. But as you seem to have few scenic obstructions, why not try mounting a mobile phone onto a wagon or something - that would probably do the job - and then get a loco to push the wagon round so you get a drivers' eye view. But, I found mounting mid-wagon gave the best shots
At 2:17 is that actual rust
