As far as the New Testament is concerned, Jesus didn't pluck part of His flesh out to be eaten by His disciples at the Last Supper, which should be the primary example of celebrating the Lord's Supper afterwards. Where does the Bible say that the bread actually turns into Christ's flesh? The Last Supper was also symbolic, the Lord's supper is symbolic. Jesus Christ's sacrifice on the cross was the one true real thing.
Transubstantiation is a false doctrine because Jesus is not a liar: In Mt 26:29 after Jesus had said, "this is my blood" and prayed, he still referred to the contents as, "fruit of the vine". If transubstantiation of the juice into blood had occurred, as both Roman Catholic and Orthodox churches say it was at this time, then Jesus would never have referred to it as "fruit of the vine' but rather "blood".

Obviously you have never been to a Catholic Mass-- There are 3 selections read from the bible at mass-- 1 from the old testament, 1 from the new and 1 from the gospels. Attend mass everyday for 3 years and you will have gone through the whole bible.

The latin mass was ok for those long ago because it's all they had. I still say bringing back the Latin mass is ridiculous. It's just to appease the old and old fashioned conservatives who wax poetic for the medieval and out of step church of their childhoods.

As far as the New Testament is concerned, Jesus didn't pluck part of His flesh out to be eaten by His disciples at the Last Supper, which should be the primary example of celebrating the Lord's Supper afterwards. Where does the Bible say that the bread actually turns into Christ's flesh? The Last Supper was also symbolic, the Lord's supper is symbolic. Jesus Christ's sacrifice on the cross was the one true real thing.

Transubstantiation is a false doctrine because Jesus is not a liar: In Mt 26:29 after Jesus had said, "this is my blood" and prayed, he still referred to the contents as, "fruit of the vine". If transubstantiation of the juice into blood had occurred, as both Roman Catholic and Orthodox churches say it was at this time, then Jesus would never have referred to it as "fruit of the vine' but rather "blood".

@kiwichristian2009 ... This proves that when Jesus said "take eat & drink" he LITERALLY gave them bread and juice. In like manner, Paul also refers to the elements of the Lord's Supper as "eat this bread and drink the cup" in 1 Cor 11:26 after they should be transubstantiated.

Most Baptists I ever met think they are the only ones going to heaven. What a surprise they will have. If one doesn't drink, smoke, or dance, then he'll go to heaven regardless of how much he gossips, gorges himself with food, etc. What a farce!

@chicomibaby Since He came to fulfill the law AND MAKE A NEW COVENANT, and remembering that "a man is not justified by the works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus" (Gal.2:16), not obeying the 10 commandments ( that is impossible ) does not mean we dont go to heaven.

@kiwichristian2009 If is obeing the 10 commandments is not necessary than why now break all of them? you must try to keep the commandments. The original commandments, not the ones the churches have twisted. And God is forgiving, if you keep his (original) sabbath day as well as all the other laws, He will bless you, and forgive you. He understands no one is perfect

The 10 commandments were not written for us, and we are not under them ( no-one is anymore ), but you are right, we are expected to try to follow them as best we can. God IS forgiving, isn't He? If God would give me what i have deserved or earned, i would be in hell right now!

Because most of the Mass is silent, the bells are the means of alerting the faithful that the most sacred moments of the Mass are approaching. The first bell indicates that consecration is about to happen. Then, when the altar server kneels closer to the priest, he will ring the bell three times to indicate that the priest has transformed the bread into the body of Christ. The altar server will ring the bell three times again once the priest has consecrated the wine into the blood of Christ.

That'd be sooo nice, but it can't happen, unfortunately :( There are too many differences that arose a long time ago, even little things that I didn't even know about until after reading about it. I think Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy might be able to someday, but I don't know about all the protestant sects that are sooo different from Catholicism and Orthodoxy.

The Latin Mass is for Republicans only, and I have found that out.
I am not a Republican, I am a Democrat, and well - obviously Democrats are not welcome at this Mass, and the ladies told me this many times recently.

I am a post Vatican II Catholic myself, born in 1980, and these girls are too post Vatican II - but they are Republicans, and I was the only Democrat at this Mass, and their behavior was so unfair.
"You cannot be a Catholic, and be a Democrat" they told me. They can keep the Latin Mass then.
The Latin Mass is for Republicans only - I found that out already.

The young ladies that made me unwelcome at this Mass have the husbands, and have children.......I have no husband - no Traditionalist guy would want to marry a Democrat Catholic such as myself.
These ladies also said that I am not a Catholic, because I am a Democrat - which hurts. They can keep this Mass, as I am not good enough for it.

Obviously you have never been to a Catholic Mass-- There are 3 selections read from the bible at mass-- 1 from the old testament, 1 from the new and 1 from the gospels. Attend mass everyday for 3 years and you will have gone through the whole bible.

I am a Catholic, and I have attended Latin Mass in the past, but according to the CCD ladies that I was treated as garbage by, I am not"Traditional"enough to meet the Mass's criteria: I am a Democrat, I have Protestant friends.
A Traditionalist guy would not want anyone like me, and they were right - they are the ones with husbands.

The Holy Inquistion is part of the "black" legends which has been blown way out of proportion by the enemies of Christ. Try doing some research on what really transpired.
The comment about worshipping Church Authorities is simply juvenile. It sounds like you either don't have much to defend your position with, or you are losing your temper.
And NOBODY loved a good heretic torture session more then Martin Luther. Why not read up on how he treated Anabaptists.

Since you obviously can't post links here, I would suggest you check out the Catholic League website. They have a good explanantion of what the Holy Inquisition was and wasn't.
My guess is, though, that you are way to comfortable in your hatred for Christ and His Church to bother yourself with the facts.
And the Scriptures came from and were codified by the Church. You are making the common protestant error by putting the cart before the horse.

Protestants are basically those who were a part of the Roman Catholic Institution and came out. Baptists claim that they were never a part of the RCI, therefore they are not Protestant. I wouldn't be so quick 2 lump all protestants into 1 group. Protestantism is fissiparous at best, no 1 tradition, theology, & discipline holds it together. In essence there is no such thing as the Protestant Church. That being said, there R religious sects like the Baptists which have no real linkage 2 the Reformation & R protestants of mainline protestantism. 1 could call them protestant, but then what about quasi-christians like the Jevova Witnesses who have there roots in Adventism?

The latin mass was ok for those long ago because it's all they had. I still say bringing back the Latin mass is ridiculous. It's just to appease the old and old fashioned conservatives who wax poetic for the medieval and out of step church of their childhoods.
I guess you will want to reinstate all the bogus relics and fictional saints next. It's the same thing as protestants who still champion the King James Bible over more modern and accurate translations.

Most of the people you see at Latin Masses were born after Vatican II. They recognize that the Conciliar Church is "out of step" with 1700 years of unbroken Tradition. Hopefully after the hippies and revolutionaries pass on, we post Vatican II Catholics can help right the barque of Peter.
