Un des premier comentaires disais que le film étais tiré d'une vraie histoire d'amour... Je me permet de corriger... Une histoire de vrai amour. Seraphin a pris vie avec Les Belles histoires des pays d'en haut difusé a radio canada du 16 octobre 1967 au 1er juin 1970.

The script is based on a novel, that became very popular in Qubec after it was made into a tv show during the 1970s or 1980s. It was remade into a movie in 2002. It is, as some have written, a nice love story taking place at the end of the 19th century. The main character, due to her father's financial hardships, his forced to marry the village miser and to leave behind the young man that she truly loves. Her beloved returns from working at the lumber camps, unaware of these events. :)

hi, im a french and i saw this movie ,its based Quebec (Canada) and its a true love story . So many girl cry on this movie, some man too, its a realy good movie,i think its around 100 years ago, if you like romeo et juliet movie style , go find this movie and i hope you will love it like us.
