  • Grandfather informs me this is not possible....

  • i have an indescribable urge to grow a mustache.....

  • Kind of borat vibe going on here

  • Cocaine.

    Striped pants.

Punk rock with a traditional Russian music flavor.

    Such is life in Moscow.

  • No matter how many times I hear these guys... they make me want to violently twitch my body to their beat.

  • fuckin amazing.

  • I saw this episode of Henry Rollins. It was the first time I saw this band and had to go and buy the CD. I saw them play last year and it was one of the most amazing shows I had ever seen. I can't say enough good things about them.

  • fuck that slayer shirt, i'm more excited about the fugazi sticker

  • I just found Vladimir Putins hidden disguise... America will never know. I'm American and I'm glad I found this. Can't stand listening to poppy upbeat unoriginal bands that all sound the same and have nearly the same tempo. That's a pretty sweet slayer shirt. This band has just phenomenally blown my mind.

  • is he speaking in ukranian at one point? anyone know what he is saying? thanks

  • @SheIsntReal94

    Russian.

Skolko utetchki tepla (How much leaking of heat)

  • Any idea how much that guitar is worth? i can imagine it's actually value is probably like £0.05 :P but i would value it at £3,775,122 ;)

  • @nathand612 You mean Eugene's guitar? Looks like a Taylor to me. $1,000 is totally feasible, even more.

  • la locura

  • FUCKING SLAYER

  • I dont think ive ever seen a someone wear a slayer shirt while playing a violin thats why i love these guys lol

  • the violinist with a Slayer t-shirt is simply amazing...

  • SLAYER!

  • @OneQuickFour SLAYERRRRRR

  • :| What's up with the bass player? All of his notes are like ...late.

I can only imagine it's a tech problem, he's fine everywhere else.

  • HAHAHAHA!!!! The fiddle player has a Slayer shirt on. Too awesome for words.

  • Cant wait

  • Hmmmm...Gogol Bordello or whiney "pop-punkers"? Which to choose...hmmm...

    GOGOL ANY DAY!

  • nothing more than bunch of zeros!!!!!!!!!

  • oh, I missed punk so much. Hopefully punk as an attitude come back. Yay!!!

  • Cool band on a cool show... cool.

  • They are popular everywhere except Africa, India and China.

  • Guttermouth likes this band very much

  • name a band that has as much energy as these guys love it ..!!

  • @wolfgar50

Early '90's: Mano Negra, the former band of Manu Chao. You can see the drummer of Gogol sometimes playing in a t-shirt from Mano Negra. Gogol plays Mala Vida, which is a song by Mano Negra.

  • @wolfgar50 The Hives

  • speechless.....this is just awesome

  • I love how Sergei is wearing a Slayer t shirt XD

  • АА!!! Slayer!!!!! :D

  • this one one of the most crazy fucking mix of elements i have ever heard, its like a breath of fresh air!

  • They have today they have Tomorrow!!!

  • Great performance. I dig the use of the acoustic guitar. Only there when needed.

  • holy shit this band hypes me up

  • SLAYER SHIRT XD

  • Great song off a great album!

  • Outrageous!

  • Really just different instruments playing simple rock music with tiny fills of something "exotic", this is more about the image and idea of something weird but as music its really plain, but it is fun to watch and the energy will rub off on you, I am glad to see a band finally moving around instead of acting like their bowels are gonna drop on the HR show

  • It's traditional folk/gypsy music, which is simple, and rock music, which is simple, played together. Which results in something simple, but imaginative.

On an unrelated note: is it racist to say that that bassist looks like he doesn't belong in the band?

  • the guy with the accordion is dresses like a damn canary, and ur worried about the bassist? lol

  • @qpalqlap

One of their core defining charactaristics is internationalism: The 3 core members are Russian and Ukrainian, but one of their drummers is from equador, one of their singer/dancer/drummer girls is from Scotland and one of their old singer/dancer/drummer girls was from Romania, one guitar player is from Israel, and the bass player is from ethyiopia. I hear elements of celtic and norse music buried in it, but then again Romani music is pan-european because they travelled so much.

  • @qpalqlap Yeah, it is racist, you fucking twat, music does not discriminate on where you are from or what color you are. Look at this band. They are the epitome of no racial boundaries and going against what peoples narrow views limit themselves too. The fact that you even needed to ask that questions concerns me deeply.

  • @b0xD If you had 5 blocks--three of which were white and one of which was black--would it be fair to say that one doesn't belong? In any case, it was a joke. Also, this band is not the first band to have a black guy with a bunch of white guys; they're not breaking through any racial boundaries here. Playing a mixture of two different types of music doesn't make you MLK or something. It's just that the band is mostly Eastern European or Gypsy, and there's no black gypsies or Eastern Europeans.

  • @b0xD what the hell are you talking about there is black people who were born and live in easter europe Oo. I personally know a black guy who lives in Russia and his native language is Russian

  • he fits in if you think of them as a traveling band going from country collecting musicians to join the circus (and i say circus in a good way).

  • @qpalqlap Nope, its an immigrant band. The bassist is from Africa. They also now picked up a "back up singer.percussionist" from Ecuador.

  • Slayer shirt wins hahaha. Really enjoy this band

  • best band there is...RESPECT!

  • So many cultures intertwined into one sound. I love these guys!

  • Da!

  • Enjoy their talents. But remember as entertaining as a gypsy is, he should be run out of town immediately after the show!

  • @grantshort JAJAJA

  • LOL I love his music!

  • /love how peeps love to argue. You like it, or you don't. The "I'm right and you're wrong" is just lame. Who cares. They are good.

  • who cares where they're from they got people from all over, either way they're fucking brillant

  • i heard about this band after i saw Wristcutters: A Love Story, very interesting

  • I love that movie

  • next concert dec 17-12 athens, greece, fuzz

  • eugene used to buy me beer when i was 18, and played bass on some tracks for our band back in the mid 90's.

  • Ya'll need to brush up on your geography.Ukraine was part of the USSR. It hasn't even remotely been "part of Russia" for 20 years.

  • actually Eugene Huts the lead singer is a Chernobyl survivor. And if you didnt know chernobyl is in russia. Get youre facts straight

  • @13nekrocannibal chernobyl is in ukraine, friend

  • you're an imbecile.

  • Make you feel good to talk down to people?

  • @13nekrocannibal eh, I consider it a less than fantastic accomplishment. However I will note that I do so from the heights of the Carpathian Mountains, located in the nation of Ukraine.

  • @13nekrocannibal india used to be a part of the UK, so that means its england? rather stupid logic. tell that to anyone Ukrainian and see how they react.

  • Ukraine is not in fact in russa, it was a part of the soviet union before it fell. But certainly not IN russia. I'm not disputing if he was or not because I don't know.

  • why does youtube not let me see a comment when it goes -6. I want to read what the neggy feedback is godddamit!

  • only the fiddler is from russia

  • the accordionist is russian as well

  • These Russians are the great!!!! Typically RUSSIAN SONG!!!!!!!!!

  • They are Ukrainian -.-

  • jesus. only the vocalist is ukranian. The fidler and the accordionist are russians, the bassist is from Ethiopia, the guitarist is israeli, the drummer is american, and there's a guy from Equador that does percussions and vocals in some songs as well. They also got two chicks that sing, dance and do percussion. I think one of em is american and the other one is from Scotland, although they have more "exotic" roots.

  • @baggorr I think there Ukranian

  • @Personne1998 Eugene is, but I think the rest of the band comes from all over.

  • @RockstarEnergy37 Oh. I did not know that. Thanks!

  • @RockstarEnergy37 Yep, they are truly international. Eugene is Ukranian, Sergey and Yuri are from Russia, Oren is from Israel, Timmy is from Ethiopia, Pedro Ecuador and the girls I think were both born in the US but are of Asian descent.

  • im gonna catch shit for this but i have never heard of this band.

    they kick ass

  • gotta love it! gypsy punk european stylee :)

  • disagreeing with jakchuu

  • That's because you are the only one. If you know only one thing in life it should be that Gogol Bordello is the real deal. No jokes here my friend. Go see them

  • You like Taking Back Sunday! Who's the joke? Keep listening to your teeny-bopper bands,, you'll never know...

  • @jynxmeTHREE see this is what people like to call REAL music. the kind of music made by INTELLIGENT musicians.

  • @jynxmeTHREE

why is it a joke? because he mixes in his native music and rock/punk in such a way as to spread it to a wider audience? or is it because they dress up funny? or have "silly" accents? i think you're just a close minded idiot who knows nothing about real music.

  • AHAHAHAHA!!! slayer...

  • dude!...i started laughing when i saw the slayer shirt...then i read your comment and i was on the ground...hahahahaha!!....i love Gogol Bordello!

  • The biggest difference between a fiddle and violin is that cool peeps play fiddle, and pretentious douche bags play violin. Think Charlie Daniels. All that really matters is that dude is rocking a Slayer t and that is about as badass as a fiddler can be. Rock over London, Rock on Chicago.

  • Look, the only difference between a violin and a fiddle is that you carry a violin in a case and a fiddle in a flour sack.

  • ...and the fact that violins have strings and fiddles have strangs

  • @ButtPoopWiggle The difference between a violin and fiddle is that one has strings and the other has strangs

  • @ButtPoopWiggle

Yea they're the same instrument. Its just a difference in playing styles. but I like the way you put it better. gets the point accross

  • After more than 4 years of calling yourself a loser and singing the praises of Dai Dai the Killer Panda...Can I have a paid job as a writer now?

  • Awsome :)))

  • Was Eugene wearing a BLITZ back patch? Much respect :)

  • They have no borders in their music, their orient, culture.

Musicisans and people of the world

Absolute borderless and absolute AMAZING ! ! !

  • Dynamite. Music, visuals, you name it! Love 'em.

  • i like the old guy playin violin and wearing a slayer shirt.. good stuff

  • fuck you !!! jackass !!!!

  • Same instrument. Its more of a stylistic difference.

  • Fiddle is another name for violin.

  • dude you literally are a complete jackass. firstly starting an argument over the most ridiculous thing. but not only that, you are completely wrong! a fiddle is just a nickname for a violin. look at it! of course its a violin you complete prick!

  • you only have to look at fiddle on wikipedia to realise that.

  • Not much, besides the fact that they've got better songs that they just never perform live. Never have I heard Santa Marinella for example...

  • I agree, I dont really like this song or Wanderlust King as much as say...alcohol, santa marinella, or through the roof.

  • Alcohol is my least favorite song, personally. And I love this song. I love American Wedding, it's my favorite. It's good that a bad can have songs that can fit different people's personal preferences.

  • Jeez, why do they only perform the worst songs live?! Where's Forces of Victory man?

  • What is wrong with this song?

  • A violin is fiddle. Fiddle is an umbrella term used in folk music related situations.

  • Mun punk on rokkia, verta, hikeä.

  • Fiddle/violin dude is wearing a SLAYER shirt!

(I like both Gogol Bordello and Slayer.)

  • Awesome band. Combining punk ideas with classic folk music... brilliant. Eugene is a genius and a man I'd like to meet. I was drawn to this because of the documentary 'Kill your idols' and this was the only band that made me sit up and want more. Probably because my great grandmother used to play Russian folk music whenever we visited.

I'm thinking about driving to St. Louis to see them in July.

Anyhow, TMI sorry for wasting your time.

  • What a fantastic song. Wow.

  • Fuck all the pseudo-punks with expensive mohawk hairstyles and chains from supermarkets. THIS is real punk with balls!

  • amen brother

  • What you mean when you say "expensive mohawk hairstyle"? It costs 0$ when your friend cuts it and 0.50$ when you buy one egg and put your mohawk up.

  • Yea, that's true. But many people have them made at the hairdresser's. At least where I live. BTW I used water with lots of sugar in it.

  • Yeah, that works too, but i prefer eggs :).

  • fuck you all pseudo-punks who thinks that being punk is something related to clothes or putting your mohawk up with eggs or whatever, is all about doing what you think it's right, despite of morals or laws, not dressing as a clow with a hair that limits your social skills (that are very usefull to actually CHANGE STUFF, what punk rock is really about)

  • well said, retard bastards think they punk cuz they burn cd's... fuck you

  • i agree with everything you said here but the part about the pseudo punk. always consider and thought that pseudo punk was more alnog the lines of music like FUGAZI and other bands like that. of course far from shallow fashion statements. but, i could be wrong. otherwise, good vent

  • @pumr thats true guess there wasnt that much punk in one band since the 80ies...

  • Oni sa fantastyczni!!!!!! <3

  • I love how the violin player has a slayer shirt on. Awesome!

  • does anybody know from which russian song is the first melody of the violin?

  • Pomona, Ca.

  • Going to see them live on May 21st. in Pomana Califas!!!! Ca.

  • ssssss que buena banda, saludos desde mexico

  • i'm pretty sure thats a fiddle...

  • HAHA, what's a fiddle smart guy?

  • You know I spent over half my life thinking there was a difference between a fiddle and a violin...

  • It's just one of those things you know...

  • well they are played with a slightly different position, so you were kinda right.

  • ULTIMAAAATE! ULTIMAAAAATE!

  • Now- that's awesome. Playing the violin and rockin a Slayer shirt. simply awesome.

  • plus being like over 70

  • haha Sergey was born in 58'

  • hes looks 50 ish

  • he's 49-- and he's NOT the oldest in the band :-D

  • wait who is?

  • accordion completely black!!!! kool!GREAT BAND!

  • look at the violist he wears t-shirt of slayer xD

  • okay... i would have soooo much sex with that man!!!!! u dont even know!!!!!!!!!!!! The things i would do to that man EUGENE HUTZ!!!!!! OOO MY FUCKING GOD!!!! the THINGS i would do to him!! i would have his babies! hes soooo fucking sexy!!!!!! i would lick him, dip him in VODKA and lick every surface of his body EVEY surface if i ever got the chance!! so many thing SEXUAL things i would do to him!!!!!

  • get your own lover. relax and flow with the spirit of life instead of sucking off someone else's. Figure it out and get a life...

  • I hope Henry's crew kept an eye on these sticky-fingered bastards.

  • haha i hope thats sarcasm, in any case its pretty funny

  • why are comments like this getting thumbs up? are you people a bunch of prejudiced retards or what?

  • I wouldn't want those people in my house.

  • What, too HARDCORE for you?

  • I can smell the body odor through my computer.
