@kcamp111060 you hit with the point where your thumb and index finger bones meet. just slightly towards the fingers from your wrist. you also wanna angle your hand back away from the striking point. so that the thumb side of your arm, wrist, and hand are all in-line with each other. .... if you don't do that i forsee bruised index knuckles in your future.

I believe It depends on the dojo/dojang you train at. I train in a dojang where the knife hand goes straight forward kind of in a stabbing motion and a ridge hand goes across the side like what he did. But generally the strikes are what the master says they are.
