I have a set of Cobra R wheels on my mustang, they're not rusty at all but they're like a dull aluminum color will this stuff make it look like chrome?
wow sorry guys , ok like sdy0174 said the small piece of indoor/outdoor carpet is just that. I go over to lowes and buy there grey or brown indoor runner carpet and cut it up into small square's. its a trick that we found works great on diamond plate. you do need to be care full when using the carpet that you dont scratch your wheels by pressing to hard. thanks mike@metalwax.com
I have some aluminum rims that need some serious help, the are oxidized badly, have a lot of brake dust and some salt buildup from these Canadian winters. I was going to order your 16OZ tri pack but I don"t know if the Basic metal cleaner will be enough. What do you recommend?
@jerad0683 No I didn't, but watching this video again makes me really want some of this stuff.lol I checked their site and couldn't find anything that looked like that small square pad. Whatever it is can't be that abrasive because they claim that the polish isn't abrasive, and he buffs it out with a microfiber towel and gets an AMAZING shine.
I got Westley's on my wheels. Was able to remove most of the cloudiness. Will your product help get the rest out and restore the shine. Centerline alum wheels.
@dinosaursfromjupiter Depending on conditions the rim is put through the shine will last months at a time. We have had truck drivers tell us the shine lasted them more than a year! Wiped down with Metalwax Quick Shine Polish anytime will instanly restore shine.
hot damn thats a shine, i'm looking for a good polish for a set of old turbine rims from the late 70s solid aluminum but they have been sitting in a barn for god knows how long, would your polish bring back a long lost shine on these rims? they are really oxidized badly i mean bad bad..
THe problem with most aluminum rims are they are coated and not 100% polished aluminum.
The coated rims have been dipped over a cheaper grade alloy...When you aggressively polish them you end up removing the protective finish then the dipped polished coating revealing the actual metal under the coating...Which isn't an actual polish-able finish.
Yes your product works well as deminstrated but only on a wheel that's of a true billet polished aluminum through and through.
@5starbars since when does a 7 second drag car run steel chrome rims smart guy! NO THOSE ARE WELD ALUMINUM DRAG LIGHT RIMS. I MADE THEM LOOK LIKE CHROME WITH THE METALWAX PRODUCTS THAT I MAKE.
@JohnnyGTR34 he didnt use caps lock all the time, check the first 14 words, he was telling the idiot that commented its not for your bennefit as you know they are aluminum.
@Jaket2000 Yes, Metal Cleaner High Performance will take extremely rusted metals back to original shine. Combined with Metalwax Polishing Gel will give you the fantastic results.

What are you applying the product with? I see that it is small and sqaure, but I can hear it passing accross the wheel. Is it a scotch brite?
