Wow. Does that mean that all of your other cakes and tutorials, not to mention your business (yes, I checked out your beautiful website too - and don't worry, I won't be your competition, I live in the U.S. ;) , have all been done in the past year and a half? If so, that's amazing....and inspiring. I hope I can do even half as much in the same amount of time.

Nivia, I love your work! I came across this tutorial when I did a search for how to make purse cakes, LOVED it, and have now spent half the evening watching several of your other videos! I myself am an aspiring cake decorator, but still have loads to learn - am in middle of Wilton's Flower & Cake Design course, having already taken Decorating Basics and Fondant & Gum Paste - and would love to someday be able to create cakes as beautiful as yours. May I ask how long ago you took Wilton 1?

Thank you for sharing this tutorial, the cake is beautiful! I have question about icing the cake board? Could you tell me the method/technique you used to do this ruffled effect?

@FShanola I just roll the sugarpaste thinly and then place on the board creating pleats as I go. There is no right or wrong, just give the sugarpaste some movements with your fingers. Hope this helps!
