i know this has midi ports n all.. but can i actually like, save samples into it and take it away from a computer to use it elsewhere.. like.. standalone stylee? or is it only usefull at a desk?
@AbattoirDream Yeah mpds are controllers only , they don't work without being plugged in to a computer. MPCs are sampling sequencers that can be used independently.
hi im new to making beats and i wanna know does the mpd 24 comes with a samples software and sounds softwares or no? and if it does how many sounds and samples does it have please hit me up and let know thankx
YEAH MAN, love the practice session. i too aim to perfect playing the MPC live. Where do I start? how do I get all my fingers doing something with feel and accuracy?
Hey! Nice vid - I'm thinking of getting an MPD24, but I've read some mixed reviews of it when used with Live under OSX. Have you had any major problems with it?
I've wanted an MPC for ages, but I don't think I could ever go back to using hardware samplers!
No problems. Though i don't use it very extensively with live so it might be better to ask on the ableton forum (the transport controls on the mpd do not currently work with Live, so they're pretty useless to me at the moment).
Perhaps the usb port you're using is of the wrong type somehow (i know i had problems powering some devices from certain usb ports when i used a pc), did you try swapping to a diff one?
HELP just got hold of an MPD24 how do i connect it up to get my first ever samples and sounds as you can guess i am a novice. A beginners video instruction would be great.
Sure, people use controllers like this with all kinds of DAWs--to record in drum parts. re. easy/hard.. depends on what you're expecting to be able to do with it and how much time you're willing to spend practicing i guess. Recording drum parts into a DAW (playing one or two sounds at a time, building a beat layer by layer--check youtube mpc videos for examples of this) is pretty simple i reckon. It wouldn't take you long to get the basics down for doing something like that.
LOL hit be even better if those things wern't going outta of style...Fruity Loopz is taking over...you basically manipulate anything on FL....but thats tight...its somthin diffrent

I think that the MPD 24 don't have such sounds.

Your best bet is to find a computer music forum and ask there.
