quilava is a good fire type

phanpy has some very nice stats

zubat is an decent poison type

if you got a good water, grass and electric type then your pretty much set up and done (until you get legendary pokemon)

Sandslash has a higher TBS than Quagsire. Quagsire has only on weakness though and has more diversity in the moves it can learn but Sandslash is just as good and if not better. It hits harder and has much better defense. Plus it has way better speed as well. As a ground type Sandslash is much better. As an overall pokemon I would say they are about equal.
