  • The audio seems off.

  • Its funny, he is trying to explain what sort of leap of faith would be required to have a spiritual experience, having never experienced such a thing he cannot transmit knowledge he does not possess. All he has is opinion.

    Opinion without experience is worthless.

Opinion is the voice of the ego and it doesn't want God pushing it off the pedestal.

  • this is the worst atheist ive ever seen.. of course belief is constant.. i believe that i have a lamp in my room, i dont stop believing it just because i think about an sms i got on my iPhone

  • @miskbalder Some beliefs shift , they flow between belief and doubt.

You are confusing belief between objective and subjective , they are quite different.

Seeking objective proof for highly subjective subjects such as God is the same as weighing yourself with a thermometer, its the wrong tool.

  • @jonesgerard im not sure why u got into the subject of searching for proof, and even objective proof, since what i said had nothing to do with it.. belief, whether it be objective or subjective of course changes from time to time, but right here, right now, the belief is the same no matter what, until you change your belief

subjective proof is the only possible proof to be found when it comes to god anyways, since god is in a persons imagination anyway

  • @miskbalder Is there any such thing as subjective proof, I though proof was objective.

"since god is in a persons imagination anyway"

    Is that your opinion?

  • @jonesgerard no, for a hallucinating person, of course there is subjective proof, religious people are talking about it all the time, pointing to their books as proof.. its not real(or objective you might call it) proof, just their own subjective proof

its both my opinion and fact until proven otherwise, just like any other hallucinations or delusions

  • You're absolutely right. That's agnosticism.

Atheism would be if one group of people claimed that there are hundreds of civilizations on Jupiter, other groups claimed there were only a few, and others claim that there is only one civilization on Jupiter and that aliens there can speak to people on Earth, and then atheists come along and tell them that they're all delusional since none of them can give evidence for what they say.

But note that atheists don't claim that there's no life on Jupiter

  • Atheism is a Religion, because you believe, you have faith there is no God without proof. When you die, it is only then you see the truth.

Go back to the definition of faith. Faith is believing in something without proof. Religion is a cause, principle, or system of beliefs held to with ardor and faith. Atheism is defined as the doctrine or belief that there is no God. Therefore Atheism is a religion.

  • @TheModelification When most atheists say, "I don't believe in God," they don't mean "I believe there there is absolutely no God." That confusion is an unfortunate problem in the English language.

If someone asked, "Do you believe there are aliens on Jupiter?" I might respond, "No, I don't."

They might say, "Oh, so you believe that there are absolutely no aliens on Jupiter?"

I would say, "No, that's not true either. I honestly don't believe either way because I don't know if there are."

  • @animals0feel1pain2

    .

Then you don't understand the definition of Atheism, because you're clearly and agnostic.

  • @TheModelification

    Athism is a religion?

Like not collecting stamps is a hobby, and not smoking a addiction. you mean?

I think you missed the point here, we do not claim anything, and do not believe in non proven things.

This is normal, religion is not. ( not any more anyway).

  • @TheModelification atheism is a LACK of belief. Not a belief that there is not. I do not BELIEVE anything. I understand what is front of my eyes in the form of evidence and what can be calculated. If god comes down and says "wassap" tomorrow. Guess what I will understand the fact that god exists. I will not BELIEVE or have FAITH for anything. If you believe in something invisible it is up to you to show evidence. Not me.

  • Damn...good shit

  • Would you consider your comment a good comment?

Think of how this can be understood.

Having been slapped with -5 for 3 questions on the Koran or Bible I can somehow understand the growing anger and frustration. Bigots? Not really. But then you get idiots everywhere.

  • It's naive to think that atheists are fundamentally different from theists. Both are human and thus vulnerable to the cognitive biases of the species. This in no way challenges the veracity of the believers claims, however.

  • No two people think exactly the same. One's perception may be completely different from another's. The way we differ in this particular situation is favoritism. Something that my religious beliefs abolish. I would never let a fellow Christian get away with common slander without bein rebuked. But for some atheists, anything coming from a religious point-of-view is foolishness and gets no (and sometimes the lowest) respect.

    1st Corinthians 2:14

  • It's true that many, and perhaps most, atheists are like this, but there are some who are respectful of religion.

  • Ture, in real life. I've only met one over the internet.

  • I read somewhere in the Old testament that God does permit us to kill murderers, rapists, adulterers and even people who are habitual drinkers. So, what is with those religious nutjobs and their cry against the Death Penalty?

  • "When if you disect the issue further, it leads to theism's credibility."

What issue leads to theism's credibility?

  • The bible also says to stone to death anyone working on the sabbath as well as unruly children and homosexuals. I could go on all day with contradictory, hypocritical and down right immoral things found within the bible.

The Koran is filled with similar nonsense both books are purely works of fiction.

  • Good then stop dancing ......Good luck with your delusions ......The worst thing is at the end you won't even realize your wrong.

  • If I turned out to be wrong how would I not realize it? According to the bible I would be burning in hell for eternity for not worshiping something with zero evidence.

Look maybe I was a little harsh in my last comment. I would be happy if I turned out to be wrong and I got to see loved ones that have past on but I see no evidence of that being the case from any religion.

I hope you have a great life to but I'll leave out the god bless.

  • "things have changed since the new covanant"

But Jesus claimed he had not come to change the law of the Old Testament one jot. If he's to be believed, then you've simply stopped obeying the commands of your god because they were culturally inconvenient or irrelevant to Europeans.

  • @PatchesRips, He said He came to "fullfill" it. He didn't change anything that wasn't already promised. The Old Covenant was already broken.

    Jeremiah 31:31.

  • "The Old Covenant was already broken."

What, so if I speed, that law no longer applies and they have to make a new one that suits me? Is your god that easily led? Some "god"!

"He said He came to "fullfill" it."

He also said that not a single jot of it would change until heaven and earth had passed away. There's nothing in Matthew 5:17 that says fulfilling the prophecies means the law is invalidated. In fact, he's saying just the opposite. But you guys find that inconvenient, so...

  • There are many things the new covenant changed. Jesus said "Call no animal common that the Lord has made clean unto you." And of course, John 3:16 says "shall not perish but have everlasting life." Hence, the entirety of the new forgiveness policy of the New Covenant. Ushering the end of getting stoned 2 death. And why sacrafice any animals if Jesus was an eternal sacrafice? There's alot more behind our theology that can be chalked up to "being inconveniant."

  • "Call no animal common that the Lord has made clean unto you."

How does this imply a change in anything? There were "clean" animals prior to Jesus's ministry.

"Hence, the entirety of the new forgiveness policy of the New Covenant"

If your god changes his mind, then he is not transcendent of time, nor is he omniscient because his knowledge is imperfect. In truth, the Bible seems to be litany of a god screwing up in his plans and design and repeatedly reaching for apocalyptic Liquid Paper.

  • @RedlineMMA

hi friend, frist thanks for good comments. am a Atheism. i want to ask where i can find the verse about homosexuals which you have told in this comment? i need to know more about bible when i debate with relious ppl. thanks a lot and stay give good comments.

  • @persianatheism

Sorry for the delay......I can't think of the versus off the top of my head ....a Google search should answer your questions.

Keep on fighting the good fight... I imagine being a atheist in Iran is pretty tough. I wish you the best.....Stay safe

  • @RedlineMMA

thanks firnd. i wish you also best.

  • WANKER

  • Got a problem?

  • "Same with the story of Exodus they claim is a myth because of scholars' chronological dating refuted by the video"

Well, that, and the fact that there's no evidence whatsoever for the literal existence of a single person called Moses, or of the enslavement and subsequent release of the Jews by the Egyptians, or a parting of the Red Sea or the pursuit by an army into it, or of the plagues visited on the Egyptians, etc., etc.

  • @PatchesRips, we have new evidence for the Red Sea Crossing. Chariot wheels & axels scattered throughout the bottom of the Red Sea to the East of Sudan and "out of Egypt" just like the Bible says.

  • "Chariot wheels & axels scattered throughout the bottom of the Red Sea"

    Uh huh. Where?

  • It says, "...will by no means disappear UNTIL all is FULFILLED." And what did Jesus come to do? FULFILL the law and the prophets.

    Matthew 5:17&18

  • Comment removed

  • If that is true, which I'm not sure because I have not read anything about myself it wouldn't be very convincing compared too all the places were the bible is wrong. I think you have a bigger problem that there was not Nazareth where Jesus was supposed to be born, no such place exist, the site where Nazareth was said to be has no evidence of a village ever being there at the time of Jesus.

  • That... Doesn't really make any sense. Nazareth is still in existance, that's like saying there's no evidence that America existed before industrialization. Jesus wasn't born in Nazareth, He was born in Bethlehem, Judah. The town is south of Jerusalem.

  • My bad about the historical error, should have read what I typed before pressing enter. I didn't say that Nazareth doesn't exist today, that would prove anything. I was saying that there is no evidence that there was a village where Nazareth is today during the time of Jesus. The childhood home of Jesus did not exist during the time that Jesus was supposed to have bee alive. A groups of archaeologist have been digging at that site for over a century and found nothing.

  • Nazareth is known to be an obscure town 70 miles N of Jerusalem. Thank you for pointing this out to me that I could research it, some scholars suggest that "Nazarene" is a reference to the Hebrew word for branch in Isaiah 11:1. Also that he could be using the word "Nazarine" as a synonym for someone despised or detestable- as the people of the region where often charecterized.

  • Thats great and all but I don't really see how it is relevant to the archaeology findings at the supposed site of Nazareth. Unless you were just sharing some interesting information, then thanks.

  • Well yeah, basically. The city it'self would just be some old guy's interpritation. ^_^

  • You could ask Kent Hoving...if he wasn't in prison.

  • lol bbc puts religious programs on bbc1, this vid only got bbc4 lol
