ALTHOUGH I'M A CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN (Baptist), I no longer believe that the Bible teaches eternal torment or suffering. The Bible teaches eternal punishment, but it's not eternal torment. In my popular Internet article, TRADITIONAL DOCTRINE OF HELL EVOLVED FROM GREEK ROOTS, I explain how and why teaching of eternal torment entered early into Christianity and how Scriptures have been misinterpreted and taken out of context to support that teaching. ~Babu G. Ranganathan (B.A. theology/biology)
GOD, HEAVEN, AND SEX: Internet article examines the Biblical possibility of sex in heaven. Human sexuality isn't just for reproduction. There are reasons the Bible requires marriage for sex on earth, but those reasons won't exist in heaven. Scripture teaches, in heaven, we'll be like the angels only in one sense - no marriage, but we won't be like angels in every other way (i.e. Bible says we'll enjoy food and drink). Psalm 16:11 says there will be great spiritual joy and pleasures in heaven.
SCIENCE SHOWS THAT THE UNIVERSE could not have sustained itself eternally because of entropy. Einstein confirmed that space, matter, and time had a beginning! That beginning had to be supernatural because natural laws have no ability to bring the universe into existence from nothing. The supernatural cannot be proved by science but science points to a supernatural intelligence for the origin and order of the universe ~ HOW FORENSIC SCIENCE REFUTES ATHEISM (Article)
NATURAL LIMITS TO EVOLUTION: Only evolution within "kinds" is genetically possible (i.e. varieties of dogs, cats, etc.), but not evolution across "kinds" (i.e. from worm to human). How were species living, reproducing if their reproductive system, vital structures, and organs hadn't evolved yet? Read my Pravda Internet article: WAR AMONG EVOLUTIONISTS! I discuss: Punctuated Equilibrium, "Junk DNA," genetics, mutations, natural selection, fossils, genetic/biological similarities between species.
WHAT ABOUT THE STARS? Gravity explains how the order found in the precise courses of trillions of stars is maintained, but gravity can't explain the origin of that order! Did all the trillions stars agree to get out of each others way? C'mon! Disorder in the universe is because of chance, but the order is because of design. Read my popular Internet article: HOW FORENSIC SCIENCE REFUTES ATHEISM.
WHAT IS SCIENCE? Science simply is knowledge based on observation. No one observed the universe coming by chance or by design, by creation or by macro-evolution. These are positions of faith. The issue is which faith the scientific evidence best supports. Natural laws can explain how an airplane or living cell works, but it's irrational to believe that undirected natural laws can bring about an airplane or a living cell. DO EYES CARRY SCARS OF EVOLUTION? Read this fantastic Internet article by biologist and creationist Brian Thomas. Thomas refutes every argument for a "flawed" design for the eye, and explains how and why the so-called flaw is actually the best thing for the eye. Read the article! It's amazing what facts evolutionists will ignore. Numerous times evolutionists have been proven wrong about their interpretation of a structure as being flawed in design or useless.
BLIND WATCHMAKER NO ARGUMENT. Natural selection is no "blind watchmaker" because it can only "select" from variations produced having survival value. It doesn't produce variations. It only operates once there is life and reproduction, not before, so it couldn't be involved in life's origins. A partially-evolved cell (an oxymoron) would quickly disintegrate. It couldn't wait ("survive") millions of years for chance to complete it and then make it living! Read: HOW FORENSIC SCIENCE REFUTES ATHEISM
GENETIC INFORMATION DOESN'T HAPPEN BY CHANCE, so it's more logical to believe that genetic similarities between all forms of life are due to a common Designer who designed similar functions for similar purposes. It doesn't mean all forms of life are biologically related! "Junk DNA" isn't junk. These non-coding segments of DNA have recently been found to be vital in regulating gene expression. Read: WAR AMONG EVOLUTIONISTS!
ALL REAL EVOLUTION ( i.e. varieties of dogs, cats, etc.) is the expression, over time, of already existing genes. Evolution is possible only if there’s information (genes) directing it. Only variations of already existing genes are possible, which means only limited evolution and adaptations are possible. Nature has no ability to invent new genes via random mutations caused by random environmental forces. That’s evolutionary faith, not science. Read my article, WAR AMONG EVOLUTIONISTS!
ARE FOSSILS REALLY MILLIONS OF YEARS OLD? Popular Internet article examines assumptions concerning fossil deposition as well as built-in assumptions involved in modern radiometric dating (not used for dating fossils but other rocks), arguments from starlight and time. Discusses lack of transitional forms and lack of evolutionary sequence of the fossil layers. Discusses mixed species in fossils (i.e. dinosaur, reptile, mammal fossils in the same stratum conveniently ignored by evolutionists).
IMAGINE A FISH WITH PART FINS, part feet with the fins evolving (transitioning) into feet. What survival benefit would there be? The fish couldn't use its fins or its feet, and there are no fossils showing such a creature ever existed. They only exist on automobile bumper stickers! There are no true transitional forms, either living or fossilized. Evolutionists realize this fact! Read my Internet article: WAR AMONG EVOLUTIONISTS!
NOT ALL EVOLUTIONISTS even agree on the fossils used to support and reconstruct human evolution. The bones are incomplete. There's no certainty of the bones belonging to the same creature. They can reconstruct whatever they want from these bones, and they have. Read my article: MISSING LINKS THAT NEVER WERE
APES ARE QUITE COMFORTABLE IN HOW THEY WALK, just as humans are quite comfortable in how they walk. Even a slight change in the position of a muscle or bone, for either, would be excruciatingly painful and would not be an advantage for survival. Atheism would be if one group of people claimed that there are hundreds of civilizations on Jupiter, other groups claimed there were only a few, and others claim that there is only one civilization on Jupiter and that aliens there can speak to people on Earth, and then atheists come along and tell them that they're all delusional since none of them can give evidence for what they say.
But note that atheists don't claim that there's no life on Jupiter
Atheism is a Religion, because you believe, you have faith there is no God without proof. When you die, it is only then you see the truth.
Go back to the definition of faith. Faith is believing in something without proof. Religion is a cause, principle, or system of beliefs held to with ardor and faith. Atheism is defined as the doctrine or belief that there is no God. Therefore Atheism is a religion.
@TheModelification When most atheists say, "I don't believe in God," they don't mean "I believe there there is absolutely no God." That confusion is an unfortunate problem in the English language.
If someone asked, "Do you believe there are aliens on Jupiter?" I might respond, "No, I don't."
They might say, "Oh, so you believe that there are absolutely no aliens on Jupiter?"
I would say, "No, that's not true either. I honestly don't believe either way because I don't know if there are."
@TheModelification atheism is a LACK of belief. Not a belief that there is not. I do not BELIEVE anything. I understand what is front of my eyes in the form of evidence and what can be calculated. If god comes down and says "wassap" tomorrow. Guess what I will understand the fact that god exists. I will not BELIEVE or have FAITH for anything. If you believe in something invisible it is up to you to show evidence. Not me.
Having been slapped with -5 for 3 questions on the Koran or Bible I can somehow understand the growing anger and frustration. Bigots? Not really. But then you get idiots everywhere.
It's naive to think that atheists are fundamentally different from theists. Both are human and thus vulnerable to the cognitive biases of the species. This in no way challenges the veracity of the believers claims, however.
No two people think exactly the same. One's perception may be completely different from another's. The way we differ in this particular situation is favoritism. Something that my religious beliefs abolish. I would never let a fellow Christian get away with common slander without bein rebuked. But for some atheists, anything coming from a religious point-of-view is foolishness and gets no (and sometimes the lowest) respect.
I read somewhere in the Old testament that God does permit us to kill murderers, rapists, adulterers and even people who are habitual drinkers. So, what is with those religious nutjobs and their cry against the Death Penalty?

The Bible says God rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 1:11)
For example many atheists still like to argue that there is no evidence for Jesus Christ. This mainly being because it is said even by Bible scholars. But this was later refuted by the video "Historical Evidence For Jesus Christ" Same with the story of Exodus they claim is a myth because of scholars' chronological dating refuted by the video, "Decoding the Exodus." by the history channel.
The bible also says to stone to death anyone working on the sabbath as well as unruly children and homosexuals. I could go on all day with contradictory, hypocritical and down right immoral things found within the bible.
The Koran is filled with similar nonsense both books are purely works of fiction.

What on earth does that have to do with ANYTHING? We're not just disreguarding those laws, things have changed since the new covanant. Ya know, new forgiveness policy. And these things aren't as "immoral" and "corrupt" as you atheists make them out to be. Laws as such can create a clean society free from problems.
Look, I don't argue with atheists anymore. I've danced this dance probably over 10,000 times. I'm not even sure if that's an exageration.

lol. those are some confident words for something we aren't fit to undersand in the first place. You wouldn't realize you were wrong either. Thaughts of God are non-existant when you've been completely cut-off from his presence.
If I turned out to be wrong how would I not realize it? According to the bible I would be burning in hell for eternity for not worshiping something with zero evidence.
Look maybe I was a little harsh in my last comment. I would be happy if I turned out to be wrong and I got to see loved ones that have past on but I see no evidence of that being the case from any religion.
I hope you have a great life to but I'll leave out the god bless.

Well you'd realize it if you could think about it. But it's impossible to think about after what's done is done. All the debating you've done will be so irrelavent to you. But I don't feel like preaching damnation.
What type of evidence are you looking for? Supernatural, forensic, historic, scientific? God has always supplied me with answers, I'm sure he wouldn't forsake you. Do you honestley think I just rushed into a religion?
But Jesus claimed he had not come to change the law of the Old Testament one jot. If he's to be believed, then you've simply stopped obeying the commands of your god because they were culturally inconvenient or irrelevant to Europeans.
What, so if I speed, that law no longer applies and they have to make a new one that suits me? Is your god that easily led? Some "god"!
"He said He came to "fullfill" it."
He also said that not a single jot of it would change until heaven and earth had passed away. There's nothing in Matthew 5:17 that says fulfilling the prophecies means the law is invalidated. In fact, he's saying just the opposite. But you guys find that inconvenient, so...
There are many things the new covenant changed. Jesus said "Call no animal common that the Lord has made clean unto you." And of course, John 3:16 says "shall not perish but have everlasting life." Hence, the entirety of the new forgiveness policy of the New Covenant. Ushering the end of getting stoned 2 death. And why sacrafice any animals if Jesus was an eternal sacrafice? There's alot more behind our theology that can be chalked up to "being inconveniant."
"Call no animal common that the Lord has made clean unto you."
How does this imply a change in anything? There were "clean" animals prior to Jesus's ministry.
"Hence, the entirety of the new forgiveness policy of the New Covenant"
If your god changes his mind, then he is not transcendent of time, nor is he omniscient because his knowledge is imperfect. In truth, the Bible seems to be litany of a god screwing up in his plans and design and repeatedly reaching for apocalyptic Liquid Paper.
hi friend, frist thanks for good comments. am a Atheism. i want to ask where i can find the verse about homosexuals which you have told in this comment? i need to know more about bible when i debate with relious ppl. thanks a lot and stay give good comments.
"Same with the story of Exodus they claim is a myth because of scholars' chronological dating refuted by the video"
Well, that, and the fact that there's no evidence whatsoever for the literal existence of a single person called Moses, or of the enslavement and subsequent release of the Jews by the Egyptians, or a parting of the Red Sea or the pursuit by an army into it, or of the plagues visited on the Egyptians, etc., etc.
@PatchesRips, we have new evidence for the Red Sea Crossing. Chariot wheels & axels scattered throughout the bottom of the Red Sea to the East of Sudan and "out of Egypt" just like the Bible says.
"It says, "...will by no means disappear UNTIL all is FULFILLED.""
Matthew 5:18 also says quite plainly this won't happen while heaven and earth still exist; clearly, the maintenance of the law is being promised as a constant DURING the ongoing fulfillment of prophecy. Christians have twisted Jesus's words to disestablish the law he swore to uphold.
If that is true, which I'm not sure because I have not read anything about myself it wouldn't be very convincing compared too all the places were the bible is wrong. I think you have a bigger problem that there was not Nazareth where Jesus was supposed to be born, no such place exist, the site where Nazareth was said to be has no evidence of a village ever being there at the time of Jesus.
That... Doesn't really make any sense. Nazareth is still in existance, that's like saying there's no evidence that America existed before industrialization. Jesus wasn't born in Nazareth, He was born in Bethlehem, Judah. The town is south of Jerusalem.
My bad about the historical error, should have read what I typed before pressing enter. I didn't say that Nazareth doesn't exist today, that would prove anything. I was saying that there is no evidence that there was a village where Nazareth is today during the time of Jesus. The childhood home of Jesus did not exist during the time that Jesus was supposed to have bee alive. A groups of archaeologist have been digging at that site for over a century and found nothing.
Nazareth is known to be an obscure town 70 miles N of Jerusalem. Thank you for pointing this out to me that I could research it, some scholars suggest that "Nazarene" is a reference to the Hebrew word for branch in Isaiah 11:1. Also that he could be using the word "Nazarine" as a synonym for someone despised or detestable- as the people of the region where often charecterized.
Thats great and all but I don't really see how it is relevant to the archaeology findings at the supposed site of Nazareth. Unless you were just sharing some interesting information, then thanks.
The audio seems off.

And these things aren't as "immoral" and "corrupt" as you atheists make them out to be. Laws as such can create a clean society free from problems.
Look, I don't argue with atheists anymore. I've danced this dance probably over 10,000 times. I'm not even sure if that's an exageration.

Good then stop dancing ......Good luck with your delusions ......The worst thing is at the end you won't even realize your wrong.

lol. those are some confident words for something we aren't fit to undersand in the first place. You wouldn't realize you were wrong either. Thaughts of God are non-existant when you've been completely cut-off from his presence.
God Bless you and have a great life. : )
Jaredz2000 2 years ago

Jaredz2000 2 years ago
"things have changed since the new covanant"
But Jesus claimed he had not come to change the law of the Old Testament one jot. If he's to be believed, then you've simply stopped obeying the commands of your god because they were culturally inconvenient or irrelevant to Europeans.
PatchesRips 2 years ago
@PatchesRips, He said He came to "fullfill" it. He didn't change anything that wasn't already promised. The Old Covenant was already broken.
Jeremiah 31:31.
Jaredz2000 2 years ago
"The Old Covenant was already broken."
PatchesRips 2 years ago
There are many things the new covenant changed. Jesus said "Call no animal common that the Lord has made clean unto you." And of course, John 3:16 says "shall not perish but have everlasting life." Hence, the entirety of the new forgiveness policy of the New Covenant. Ushering the end of getting stoned 2 death. And why sacrafice any animals if Jesus was an eternal sacrafice? There's alot more behind our theology that can be chalked up to "being inconveniant."
Jaredz2000 2 years ago
"Call no animal common that the Lord has made clean unto you."
How does this imply a change in anything? There were "clean" animals prior to Jesus's ministry.
"Hence, the entirety of the new forgiveness policy of the New Covenant"
If your god changes his mind, then he is not transcendent of time, nor is he omniscient because his knowledge is imperfect. In truth, the Bible seems to be litany of a god screwing up in his plans and design and repeatedly reaching for apocalyptic Liquid Paper.

PatchesRips 2 years ago
@PatchesRips, we have new evidence for the Red Sea Crossing. Chariot wheels & axels scattered throughout the bottom of the Red Sea to the East of Sudan and "out of Egypt" just like the Bible says.

It says, "...will by no means disappear UNTIL all is FULFILLED." And what did Jesus come to do? FULFILL the law and the prophets.

PatchesRips 2 years ago
If that is true, which I'm not sure because I have not read anything about myself it wouldn't be very convincing compared too all the places were the bible is wrong. I think you have a bigger problem that there was not Nazareth where Jesus was supposed to be born, no such place exist, the site where Nazareth was said to be has no evidence of a village ever being there at the time of Jesus.
cc3814 2 years ago 2
That... Doesn't really make any sense. Nazareth is still in existance, that's like saying there's no evidence that America existed before industrialization. Jesus wasn't born in Nazareth, He was born in Bethlehem, Judah. The town is south of Jerusalem.
Jaredz2000 2 years ago

Jaredz2000 2 years ago
Thats great and all but I don't really see how it is relevant to the archaeology findings at the supposed site of Nazareth. Unless you were just sharing some interesting information, then thanks.

Well yeah, basically. The city it'self would just be some old guy's interpritation. ^_^
