@Maxpilot777 cfm 56's are the most proliferated commercial engine in the world...737...a320...they're also used on several military heavies....namely the kc-135....it's also on the RC-135, navy E-6, and a few others
I dont understand, people put all this effort and money into building a flight simulator.. Why not instead put the effort in when you where younger to become and actual pilot and be paid to do this, rather than pay to do it?
Amazing construction and attention to detail...is this fully self built or is it a partial kit?--if I may ask...what was the completion price including all needed computers and projectors ? I now have a ton of free time to use up and thought I might build a sim for home,,,Thanks for any info
You know, you could've just learned how to fly for around $5000 (training and learning) and buy an actual plane (like a second-hand Cessna 172R for $150,000) than building a flight simulator that costs around $300,000. :D
@RealJafaika One you have them armed they deploy on their own, he armed them when he was descending to FL1000. He did seem a little nervous, lol. He was focused tho. That sim would be so much more cool if it moved like the real expensive sims airlines own.
@GMBStillFree LOL seriously dude MAYBE your right? Have you ever heard of an aviation enthusiast ... I don't think a 737 pilot after flying a 14 hour day shift, is going to come home and play on his home built simulator. Some people do it for the simulation world which I think is dam awesome. Good for them!
@RealJafaika lol i can understand that, sorry if i came off a little rude, but certainly as much as im into sims id never go with that setup unless i was diehard for it, if i could have my own custom cockpit like this id have an F-35 or A-10 cockpit for sure :P
@GMBStillFree No worries bro, I'm a CFI and i get loaded with students. when i get sure all i want to do is sleep. A-10 would be nice but with no bombs no fun lol. do u fly in the real world?
@RealJafaika I'm sure he has one which explained how he knows all this stuff to begin with. It's cheaper to build your own rather than going on a legitimate simulator that costs a whole lot of money whereas this only costs a tiny fraction. However, a professional simulator is still better.
@dookiekong007 Of course, this route is always cheaper than a professional sim. The concepts are the same... sim is a sim. only thing that makes it different is if it's approved by the FAA for training. I literally cut the cost of my IFR rating, by coming home and shooting ILS & practicing hold on my 3 monitor FSX home simulator. And yes professional simulators are wayyyy better.
@RealJafaika I really want to build one and I guess the real differences between a professional one and a homemade one are first like you said, FAA approved and that you do need some hours behind their simulators and two, I guess the realism of the movements.
@dookiekong007 Yea, that's about it. but if your only doing it just for fun get a few monitors, yoke w/ pedals & throttle, and good I7core system to run FSX. It just wont move like a full level c or d sim. but its just as fun (y)
@RealJafaika Ahwell if he does go for it, he can tick off many thing already known and lernt from simulators, Ask any flight school. many tests and knowledge base can be passed or taken from FSX or xplane and tick off on Competencies for licences
@RealJafaika No ejection seats lol, thats why i'am going to the airforce academy so i can fly jets(B-52's-A-10's) with an ejection seat life in the air is so much more comfortable xD
Where do people get the money for these simulators? How many people who have these JET simulators can land in Cat II conditions using an instrument approach plates? I hardly every see that in watching these home sim. vids.
either you have an understanding wife or single cause my girl was tripping when i was only building a 3 screen race simulator lol. this is bad ass. i mean wow
