You use the wifi to connect to a wireless router that has internet. There is no other way to get internet on an ipod touch.

I know what 3G is. But the iPod touch doesn't have it either, it uses Wifi, so therefore, the iPhone having no 3G is the reason why it means nothing to the loading time. Unless you are using your actually 2/3G network but even then, it wouldn't affect it since they're using the same connection making it a fair test.

That really depends on you, if your really one that needs to have the latest gadget and cool stuff in a cell phone I doubt it. Me I use my Ipod touch but I have free wifi everywhere thanks to my Internet provider creating free wifi pretty much every where, I got an old blackberry which I download Opera Mini to so I am happy. If you can live with a basic phone and get by with an Ipod touch then go for it. If you need sexy smartphones try metropcs or cricket both are getting the cooler phones

with old nextel blackberry with Wifi and I think I am pretty much set. If you have other options I think you should take them. If my battery dies and need to make a call I use a wired headset for my touch and go to free voip websites from touch and make free calls they have limit of like 5 free calls a day but pefect for quick calls if your battery dies.

I have Verizon my contract is up they are to expensive but I here they are working with Apple for smaller cheaper version of the Iphone for 2010 release when At&t rights expire. My contract is up and I don't want to stay with verizon. I have 32GB touch for about $220.00 when Circuit city closed. I use my email account to text ppl right from my touch. So it is really about shopping around for what is best for you. I don't have these services here so I went with boost, Must say I can't believe I have better service then Verizon people always comment how clearer and better I sound now compared to before when I talk to them.
