  • How much does it weigh?

  • @Videtta23 Not sure, sold it some time ago

  • I've gotta pick outa this, and an Epiphone Les Paul Custom...what does everyone here think?

I listen to metal, trivium an Killswitch etc etc, but like to play the odd blink 182 an other punk, sometimes soft/hard rock like the foo fighters. Which should I choose?

  • @saintofbladez This Definitely! I have a couple of schecters ranging from the Omen series to the Hellraiser and they're all awesome!!

  • How is it tuned?

  • Anyone know the difference between the omen 7 and the extreme 7? Is it just a better paint job...cuz I just want a decent 7 string guitar

  • @xlxfinaldeathwishxlx all the differences are listed on the schecter website

  • @xlxfinaldeathwishxlx if you're looking for a 400 7 string, the omen 7 is a really good choice. the only real differences between the extreme and the normal omen 7 are the looks (IMO the extreme looks way better) and the body wood.

  • Have you tried drop-A on it, and if so, how good would you say it is? I read somewhere that it doesn't like other tunings 'cause of the intoning (or what it's called, english is not my first language! :) )

  • @Manofunctional The intonation on mine is fine. A bigger problem is the pickups, stock they are not that great. You will want something tighter especially for lower tunings.

  • @Mark101vdg I'm most likely getting this guitar for christmas. Is the body actually mahogany? And how is the neck?

  • @gearsofwolf The body is indeed mahogany. Just be sure you get a recent production. I believe several years ago it was basswoord. As for the neck, its a schecter neck...love it or hate it. Can't tell you!

  • @Mark101vdg Thank for replying man. and the neck should be good then.

  • @Mark101vdg Another thing, does it have the "assembled in USA" sticker?

  • @gearsofwolf I´m sorry I can´t tell you. I sold it a long time ago, so i can´t check anymore. I do know that they get their quality check in America (California I think?). So it should amount to the same thing.

  • Holy fuck dude, you look like the ginger version of sick puppies singer. o.o

  • Are stock pickups good for clean (your opinion)? And one question in general... Is it really practical to own a 7 string and to rarely even play on the 7th string? I never owned one.

  • @Divljina89 Stock pickups are ok, bit bright pretty useable. I'd replace them. Try a 7 string in the store, might love it, might hate it. Personally love mine, I can play my E standard stuff on it and the B standard stuff. Made my E standard 6 string obsolete, this thing plays just as well. Only you can decide if its worth it for you

  • @Divljina89 Thanks for the quick reply! Very nice advice. Ok then, I will try Omen 7 at the local music store and see if it's my thing. Thanks once again!

  • Stock bridge pickup is medium gain, (not as high as my EMGs) and very trebly. The trebly part you may not like, makes it a bit ice picky, but it does make the pinch harmonics scream like no other. Honestly, pinch harmonics ring out better in this than in my EMG guitars, which are known to be good for that stuff.

I do intend to switch them out though, bit flabby in the lows

  • How's the stock bridge pickup? You should upload more of this guitar :).

  • In your opinion are Scheters good or ok or amazing?

  • @IAMAROCKSTAR33652 Amazing for the money, good in general. The lower models could use a pickup swap, and sometimes a new nut.

  • what kinda amp you using? i went to guitar center and i messed with a 7 string, and the shitty line 6 they had coulndt handle the Metalness of the 7 string!!!!

  • @VonHendrixTV At the time I was using an ENGL Blackmore through a Framus V30 2x12. Also used a Bad Monkey OD.

  • how do you get your open ness to ur sound?

  • @xmetalrifferx Open ness? I'm guessing having enough presence? A lot of people turn it down because of fizz, not realizing that a certain amount of fizz is a good thing for it to breathe

  • damn...SEXY!

  • Beautiful colour.

  • ewwwwwww, bolt on

  • Wow^^

This will be my first schecter guitar! Now that I see this video, i am glad I bought it... It sounds again so great^^

  • That is a fucking awesome guitar.

  • what amp r u using is it the ENGL BLACKMORE ?.

  • Ha, you got the guitar color to match your hair...

  • I have this guitar and I love it!!!! The key is to use the B string to your advantage not just play everything lower! Sweet Riff near the end!

  • I have the same guitar, its pretty badass for a $420 guitar

  • sick playing man, i was wondering, ive never played seven string before but recently from listening to fear factory, steve vai and meshuggah a lot im really diging them so is this any good for someone just starting to play seven string or would you reccomend another one of schecters 7 strings. Ive looked at all the ibanez ones but none of them are a. within my price range for th quality i want (i know that may sound stupid xD) and b. just look a bit off.

  • @hughlaw1

I´d go for this one, cheapest 7 string you´ll find with a mahogany body and maple top

  • @Mark101vdg question dude ! is the new models come out with the mahogany body too ? and what do you think, this guitar compared to an Ibanez RGA 7? im thinkin to buy a Schecter thou, i love the sexy look and the fat tone

  • @FeroxX as far as I know all models since 2008 have mahogany bodies. The RGA has a thinner neck, but basswood body I think. I prefer mahogany

  • Whats the action like on this guitar also how does the neck feel i hear alot of controversy about them don't know whether to get the omen or the schecter demon 7? Cheers

    P.S. the amp sounds sweet!

  • I'm considering buying that guitar... would you recommend it?

  • Best 7 string for that price imo. Inlays look cheap, but that won´t affect how it sounds. Pickups could use a change as well, but seriously...its a mahogany body and maple top 7 string for 350, thats unbeatable for the price

  • great, thanks:D

  • @Mark101vdg im actually a fan of the inlays tbh, theyre just different to me

  • realy dig the amp, what is it?

  • ENGL Blackmore in this vid.

  • Hah, no wonder why it sounded so good:)

  • Beautiful

  • Your metal playing is awesome man :) What's that riff u r playing from 2.14 to 2.34 ? It's WICKED melodic, just impro ?

    Schecter guitars are the best!!

    Keep it rocking!

  • Thanks! Its improv based on a riff by As I lay Dying. (song is called The sound of truth)

  • They aren´t that bad..but you would do well to change them if you have the cash

  • i must ask, where did you find it in red? everywhere i look is just black and the red looks cooler. btw it looks really fuckin nice

  • What scale is that? is it 26.5?

  • Not sure anymore, check the schecter website and it should list the specs.

  • i ordered it some days ago and yes: it is 26.5 ;)

  • How much did this cost you?

  • 350 euro I think it was

  • How is the neck? Can you compare it to other guitars? Is it thick?

  • It isnt as thin as Ibanez necks but its not fat by any means. Glossy finnish, but perfect thickness for me.

  • wooow great sound \m/

  • im thinking of getting this as my first 7 string guitar, is it a good first choice? money isnt the issue, its how nice it is to handle and how it feels, i tried an omen 6 extreme at my local guitar shop and loved it so i doubt it will be much different but no-where has the 7

  • If money were no issue I would get a Hellraiser 7 or Blackjack ATX 7 instead. Better pickups and tuners, and nicer fretboard/inlays. You'll also pay over twice as much though.

  • right k then, but as a first guitar? i dont wanna spend like £700 on a guitar i wont like :/ it wont be much different from the omen 6 extreme i tried would it?

  • as a first 7 string its fine. Its pretty similar to the 6 string but the nect is wider ofcourse to accomodate the extra string

  • sweet =] yh but thats to be expected if its a 7 string

im saving up for it now and im gona fit it with bareknuckle pickups =] gona be sick :D

  • might be getting this guitar in a month X)

    \m/

  • nice guitar nd nice sound, dude

whats ur amp? is the distortion comming from it, or u use another pedal?

    ty

  • Sound is coming from an ENGL Blackmore slightly boosted with an OD. Recorded with that webcam as shown.

  • Fucking sweet ass sweet! Its probably one of the Best Engls I have ever heard.....I think the Fireball sucks ass! Hell you dont really even need an OD to get a killer tone out of that amp.

  • I sold the amp about a month ago. Now running an ENGL e530 + Mesa 50:50

  • whats the song you played at 2:15 or is it an improv?

  • partial improv. Based on an As I Lay Dying riff from the song The Sound of Truth

  • according to the schecter website this guitar doesnt have coil tapping >.>

  • I guess you didn't read well. It says under electronics: Vol, Tone (tap)/3-way toggle.

The tone functions as a tap, you can pull it out and push it in.

  • ok i see what your talking about (i was looking at the normal one, this is the extreme version)

but it should show it on the picture type thing on the side that shows all the features

  • It does...that Vol, Ton (tap)/3-way was copy pasted from the features list on the schecter website.

  • it shows it in the features part but not the picture on the side, thats what i meant

and due to my lazyness i normally look on the side lol

  • That guitar is smart man :o

    Sounds good :)

    Would you recommend it?

  • You bet! Mahogany body, maple top and well done fretwork and inlays for 350, hard to beat!

  • Amp is an ENGL Blackmore

  • what is ur amp ? And nice guitar \,,/
