Where can I buy this Pelican A/V selector box, and would I need another HD cable connecting back to my TV and one connecting to my computer to record in HD? Please help...
Did you try running it straight into your computer, and turing off timeshift? Always kills the lag. Also, you can just use iShowU to record the screen....
@Voyevoda01 im also wondering if this timeshift checkbox gets rid of lag. do u know for sure that it gets rid of the lag. because, im thinking of buying the eyeTV hybrid, but i need to make sure it has no lag.
@tommelling22 I do know for sure, the device lagged for me (pressed a button on the controller, about a second later the function would actually show on the screen) until i checked it off. It's extremely lag free from there. I can record a small tutorial showing you how much it changes with it on/off if you'd like....might just do it anyway regardless :)
For those who are wondering how to deal with the lag, it's simple. If you have a AV cable which has both HD and Standard cables, just plug the visual HD cable in your TV and then the 3 standards into the recorder. Although you have to play in black and white its the best way to get capture (but im not sure about 60Hz games because i have PAL-60 so i cant record games like Halo3).
This ^^^ Would work. What I do to capture is run the xbox AV Cables into a multi-platform box (mine is a small Pelican). Then I run two outputs from there; One to the TV, and one to the computer. You can then play in full quality on your TV, and also record at full quality. (No lag)
So you plug your xbox into the pelican then where do the cables go to view on the tv and record do you need splitters or is the pelican doing that for you?
I Have The Exact Same Capture Card As You, But I'm Having Problems Hooking It Up To My Xbox. My Xbox Will Only Work With My TV If It Has The Component Cables Plugged Into It. I've Tried The Regular AV Cables, They Don't Work. And The EyeTV Doesent Have Any Component Cables, Any Suggestions On How To Fix This Problem?
for live steam, 8; but if you record something, its a definite 9.5 - If you watch this video in high quality, you can see how great the audio and video becomes. Also, look up the Super Mario 64 Walkthrough videos (not mine). I believe those were used with a elgato.
yeah... i bought one too and I can say its more like a 4/10 instead of an 8... i've messed around with all the settings and can't seem to make it look any better. I also plugged in the coaxial line for my cable and found very horrible image as well.. Too bad I can't take mine back I feel robbed. Also it said it comes with an antenna, the NTSC versions dont come with one... awesome...
hi. i just bought an eyetv aswell. and i have the same problem as the first guy. my composite video input screen (the one for xbox) has a layer of yellow colour over it. do you know how to fix this?
there is no lag what soever. It only lags when you try to record, but see my info up top for details on that. Picture quality is great. It can all be adjusted in the preferences; NOTE; the picture quality comes out a lot better when you record, rather live, but is still great either way.

@jarediscool77 The PS3 is connected to the imac through the eyeTV which basically just converts composite video and audio cables to a USB port.

Quick question: when not recording, can you play games from your XBOX 360 to your computer without lag?

Does the game lag without recording? Like, how does it run just normally?
Also, how is the picture? Same as an analog TV? Better? Worse?
