I agree, she might have been at her peak in 1995 but she sang VOL better in 2005. Her voice was too soft and airy for this song in 1995, but in 2005 it was raspy and soulful.

No question if you are just comparing the two vocally - 1995 wins hands down, it just flows. However the 1995 version has been dubbed from the original sound on the night, so I have no idea of what the performance really sounded like on the night. 2005 sounds live in parts but miming in others with the big notes. Good on Mariah for her achievements 18 US no 1 singles is a great feat however there is no denying she is not the singer vocally she was from 1993-1996
