  • Obviously, the ppl that could do what needs to be done, have been put in place by them.

  • Thanks so much for sharing and caring Tom, nothing like knowledge.

  • Austrian economists rule; good sense of humor, lively speeches, common sense. These are the people who we need, not the ones in power.

  • love it

  • i am a new fan of Tom Woods!!!

  • shame I didnt come on this guy sooner, him and schiff are awesome

  • If you actually read the Virginia and Kentucky resolutions you'll find that they are *radically* different from each other.

They advocate strongly differing approaches on how to get rid of bad federal laws. To lump them together is to fail to notice a key distinction between them.

    Go read them.

  • @richardcadbury The states that replied to them at the time did not feel that way, and I can point you to scholarly studies that dispute your claim that the two are radically different.

  • Wow, a half-hour speech on nullification and not one mention of John C. Calhoun -- now this is selective history.

  • @curtbentley Why? Maybe you're being selective in not mentioning Jefferson.

  • @curtbentley Calhoun was nullificationist only in a very weak sense, and he was a Nationalist; so he is not a very good theorist nor consistent with Woods' aim. It's the same reason you don't mention Reagan when you're talking about free markets - because Reagan didn't really do anything but talk, and his ultimate positions contradict his free market fluff.

  • "Duty bound to resist."

Maybe, but through the political process. That's the lesson of history.

  • Woods needs to be Ron Paul's speechwriter.

  • More people need to get to know Tom Woods.

  • Excellent presentation. Thank you so much.

  • Good government is NOT a terror to good works.

In other words, when a government is run amuck with crime, tyranny and injustice, we are not Biblically obligated to submit anymore.

    Think about that.

America's founding father's took matters into their own hands, reviling and revolting against the higher powers.

Revolt against the abuse and tyranny of the higher powers

    Freedom isn't free!!!

  • Tom Woods is the new Rick Santelli - let's make some noise!

  • Paul and Woods 2012

  • Hopefully people from other countries are taking note of people like Tom.

  • It's all about the fiat money. Is paper, redeemable for NOTHING, money?

  • Folks--take notes. Learn this stuff. Visit with whoever becomes your elected delegate and be sure they understand "nullification"; further, if you agree, offer to assist your representative when you find the feds getting off the road to freedom. We can do this! The Jeffersonian solution can and will work--with your/my help

  • He mentions msnbe several times, why not fox? They suck as bad or worse because they are not 'popular'. Is he afraid he might 'offend' the feeble minded?

  • @motorolarules I can't speak for him, and I agree they are both a propaganda outlets, MSNBC has Zig Brez daughter working as a television personality and that man is the enemy

  • @KillaC4Mammie great

  • @KillaC4Mammie You'd support him '150%'?

That is odd, you are against fractional reserve banking, but you are for fractional time, giving time you don't have?

  • I WAS THERE!!!!!

  • Its the Pauls, Gutzmans and DiLorrenzos, the Woods, Schiffs and Sowells of the rEVOLution that really give me HOPE for CHANGE.

What Change do I Hope for? A return to strictly limited fed duties and lawful money, a respect for the written law (the constitutions) and SOVEREIGNTY.

YES!!!! The Virginia / Kentucky Resolutions!

  • Second time I've listened to this speech I enjoyed it so much, the first time was over on the Tenth Amendment Center channel.

Keep up the fantastic work Thomas!

  • Beautiful job Tom... twittered.

  • Oooo! Grilling with GIANT BRAINS!

    "Braaaaaaaiiiiiiinnnnnnssssssss....."

  • This is going in the top of my Tom Woods Playlist. Keep up the great work Tom!!!

  • @trekkerperson So I'm not the only one that thought of that!

  • lol ...11:00 TO 11:30. Woods is a fantastic speaker.

  • do you read any Bill Bonner of the Daily Reckoning Tom? he's always talking about the zombification of the USA.. X )

  • I present to you, ladies and gentlement:

The next great Austrian, of the Austrian tradition:

There was Mises. Then there was Rothbard. And there was Woods.

  • @AndyMH182

I like Woods, he is good man, doing great work. But he not as great or even comparable with Mises or Rothbard. Lets not engage in such comparisons to begin with. It is not fair to anyone.

  • @utubehayter

Of course no one will say that when he is still alive. But he is a very young man and who has been writing some very great books on a fairly regular basis.

Austrian economics doesn't really need another treatise comparable to Man, Economy, and state or Human Action. There isn't a whole lot more to be said on the subject.

What Austrians really need now is writing on economic history from an Austrian perspective, and I think he will make huge strides for us in this area.

  • @AndyMH182

Woods is a historian by expertise and is a great popularizer of ideas. He is far more "popular" than Rothbard, Mises or Ralph Raico, due to his style and wit. There was a great writer like him.. Henry Hazlitt, who did a great job in his time too.

But if you understand what Rothbard and Mises did, it becomes an unfair comparison that one should rather not engage. If you think he will get there.. hold your horses, let him get there, encourage him if you can.

  • @utubehayter - Rothbard lost a great deal of respect when he compared unborn infants to parasites.

  • @thomaserossi

It is technically true that foetuses are parasitic and can be considered parasites. If you have a problem with Rothbard's comparison on that technicality, then you have a problem with the reality of this world. If you can find a happy solution by denying the reality of this world, then good for you.

Oh and you think anyone should care for your respect? Why?

  • @AndyMH182 Don't forget Hoppe.

  • One of the best speeches Woods has ever given. And that's saying something.

  • Tom, you're one of the best speakers I've ever known. Keep up the superb work and spread the liberty!
