  • I love how this song and Carnival make me feel two different emotions but its still about the same basic thing. Amazing.

  • God, they always have the best lyrics, makes me realize all the stuff about being a female that I would rather not think about that sometimes brings me to tears because it shouldn't be that way, but it is true, even if I've never thought of myself that way.

  • the best song of theirs-hands down

  • can someone explain to me what this song means?

  • @Madadict basically, if whoever is "watching over her" was "blind" she could pretty much do anything she wants without consequences ("if you were blind and there was no braille, there are no boundaries to what i can feel"). also, she's basically like an over-protected, sheltered child. she could appreciate the "doves" (as opposed to seeing the sicknes), and she's "encased in the whisper" she was taught, which is the equivalent to saying she's been sheltered.

  • @bucketsofclass

    Hey thanks for the clarification!

I'd lke to add that the phrase "we might even eat up your hate up like love" has to do with the entire concept that some women are Taught/ Raised to perceive being treated badly as how they're supposed to be treated. Similar to the Beauty & The Beast theme that women can convert a "beast"/ bad boy into their love and just tolerate mistreatment until it develops to love.

i have yet to develop this more though. i just thought i'd put it out there

  • @Madadict i figured you were smart enough to figure out the eating hate part, turns out i was correct. yeah, you pretty much added what i didn't mention and you got it, like, spot-fucking-on. i also perceived it as a sort of "we need attention due to the obsessive sheltering, give us attention, even if it's bad", but i could see how your definition would work.

is your username totally an Adicts reference, by chance?

  • @bucketsofclass haha yeah thanks! and yes, i totally agree with you on that!

  • I think the recording here is poor though. Ian MacKaye didn't do the best job he could have. I prefer the version on one of the Kill Rock Stars compilation.

  • One of the greatest rock'n'roll songs ever, PERIOD.

  • @PHD18E it's also not considered rock & roll. just sayin'.

  • My favorite BK song, hands down.

  • my most favorie break up song!!!!!

  • @northernkentuckydiva That's interesting you think of "Feels Blind" as a break-up song, I always think of it as a political song about how women are taught passivity. This song rocks!

  • I wish I could say that I've had better relationships. Live and learn. It's a great song.....Made me a strong woman! I've even gotten some men to adopt it as a break up song. :)

  • this.

  • FUCK YES!!!

  • great lyrics

  • such an f-ing good song...remember this one from back in the day...:)
