I have a much better solution for you guys, Download Iobit Game Booster, then make sure to have it set up so that if cossacks is playing, explorer.exe is one of the things closed down by game booster to help remove the colour issue, and if your worried about explorer.exe not reopening after, it will.

Doesn't work for me on windows 7, however when the colours are all messed up, they don't look like the first screen shot, mine becomes even more vibrant, more pink and purple and the colours are even more broken up, same with Age of Empires.

had this on my SonyVPCF128FJ Windows7 i5 NVIDIA GeForce 310M cuda etc..

open notepad then typed

taskkill /f /im explorer.exe

dmcr.exe

start explorer.exe

save as dmcr.BAT to desktop then draged it to C:\Program Files\Cossacks - The Art Of War, opened the new dmcr(has different icon)then walla! THanK YOU GOD! gauranteeeeD 120+%NOT FAKE!!! unless you did it wrong lol  PS. thanks really > <b

the coppy of cossacks btw i have is actualy pireted if that would influence it x3

@peterdowftw well i have the bought version and the pirated versions both work with the .BAT file so my only guess is that you click properties on DMCR file and change it to administer and compatibility to windows me95 or muck around with the compatibility choices.
