  • Good video - well intentioned I bet - though Bela Bartok was born in Romania not in Hungary - Austria :-) He was after all a Romanian citizen who identified as Hungarian through his parents' ethnicity - my ex wife for instance does the same. She was born to a Hungarian dad and Romanian mum in Romania but if you asked her she'd tell she's Hungarian. She can't speak a word of Hungarian and visited Budapest twice in her life. :-) Go figure...

  • I'm a very new composer, my work hasn't yet been published. If anyone would be interested to check out some of my pieces on my channel that would be great. Thank you

  • But where's Nobuo Uematsu

  • Nice video, good coverage of all styles. If you don't mind, I'd like to throw forward three more names: Sergei Rachmaninoff, Leo Ornstein, and Marc-Andre Hamelin. Great job.

  • Thanks for this. I was looking for something exactly this since Im trying to broaden my knowledge of contemporary composers.

  • @DrStabkill The composers in this video range from 20th century composers to modern-day composers. I think the most obvious composers of new/avant guard music that I can think of at the top of my head are Steve Reich, Terry Riley (look up "in C"), and John Cage (look up "4'33"). I'm a clarinetist, so I can strongly recommend Eric Mandat who writes AMAZING experimental music for clarinet, using quarter tones and polyphonics, or even playing it like a flute.

  • Well done, I enjoyed this fully and believe it will enlighten many classical music fans and broaden their fascination with the music. Thank you
