I used to listen to Michael Brecker's Bullet Train every day when I was in grade school learning the sax. Can someone tell me: is this it? I mean it KINDA sounds the same, but I remember Bullet Train having many more low E's and F's than what I'm hearing here.
Steps Ahead - Smokin' In The Pit CD Album. Recorded live at The Pitt-Inn, Tokyo, Japan on December 15 & 16, 1979. ... Even if this is not the one, you will not be disappointed.
Thank you for posting this. For a little while, I have been hoping for an original video for this Mainieri tune. Too bad though that the video gets out of sync with the audio.
what a great tune. i actually have an old video that i recorded off of a&e in 1987, with bob mintzer, warren bernhardt, and omar hakim, when it actually was the"arts & entertainment" channel.
Blazing - I've got this on an LP where Steps are performing Live in Japan, accompanied by the great Kazumi Watanabe. Michael Brecker blows his soul out. Brilliant live talent....

Are you sure you're not thinking of the tune "Trains" rather than "Bullet Train?"
