To me, the original was about how a person craves for eternity, love and beauty. It was arranged beautifully and made everybody feel like there's still an answer after all these years of thinking and despairing.

But unfortunately the truth is, if anybody is looking for something really hard now, it's for money, sex and violence. And Tori knows that only by exposing that dark part of life, we can't get to the bright part.

This version disgusts me, also the Pip version of "Me and A Gun", but we have to rip off the beautiful surfaces of things to truly realize and accept that it's still possible to change these situations.

I love Tori, and she is my absolute favorite, but I also love Neil Young immensely. This is a wretched cover, my least favorite of hers next to "Total Eclipse of the Heart". It's a gentle, contemplative song, and to quote a hater, she did indeed "rape" it. This is violent, angry, and wrong. The sincerity and sadness present in the original have been ripped away, as with any real meaning. I don't know how she interpreted the song lyrics, but it just doesn't work for me.

As Peter Murphy sang Tori "cuts you up and spits you out". I think she is some kind of genius but just not usually my taste and this is just a bad cover.

your wrong. I think anyway. I dont think your wrong by watching this video, this video is aweful. Any music lover should see her live, its completely different. If you felt the energy in the room that night, i dont think you would think the heart is gone. She is known for changing peoples songs completely. She covered EMIMENS "Stan" from the point of the women in the trunk!

Well if you knew anything about Tori Amos you'd know that it was from her cover album Strange Little Girls in which she took songs by men and interpreted them from a woman's perspective.

I think it ads a whole new dimension to the song and proves how good a song it is to transition into rock so well.

Also it's a song that no crumby youtube video will do justice to. Had to have been there.
