Knox actually said that the Pope is "hurting" people in the name of Jesus, which I believe is correct. I find that to be ludicrous; HIV is spread through infected fluid transmission, person to person and that is what condoms prevent.

The trouble with fanatics in any cause is that they are blinded by faith and often make up 'facts' to suit their beliefs, rather than challenge their beliefs with facts.

The real issue here is the freedom of some to challenge the policies of others.

Sure there is evidence that condoms aggravate the spread of HIV/AIDs. There's the difference between Thailand (Buddhist) vs Philippines (Catholic). There's the abstinence programs that worked in Uganda that other African nations were late to catch on to that worked. The real issue is willful ignorance from a secular sect that is unwilling to even entertain the idea that real help might be social rather than clinical.

Ban on condoms didn't break the Philippines population 96k and only 3k AIDs cases vs Thailand with rampant condom usage and a population of 65k and 1million AIDs cases .. that's pretty good evidence
