I want to buy a good one and get used to it! If it sounds cheap or crappy I will be disappointed and feel like it is my fault and get discouraged. I set my mind to something and will see it through. I just don't want to deal with negative stuff if I can "head it off at the pass!" LOL!
I would appreciate any help especially in the beginning of my career;) My goal is to play and play well in front of an audience by August! About six mo! I will record from my first attempt, progress and to goal!:)
So... your harmonica (someone got offended when I called theirs that and said "it is a mouth harp!" What the heck IS the difference? Thanks) has been "modified by two people? Why? What is the benefit? Why can't people just buy them like that? Can people "modify" their own in the same way?
"Someday" is here and I am done wasting time not knowing how to play! I am just getting started. Any advice as to which one/s to buy? Brand? Key/s? I don't want to have to keep "buying up" and wasting money:)
So, you are Mr. Richard Sleigh. Cool. Nice work. Congratulations. Heard about you from Jason Ricci. Your Harmonicas sound really good. Nice playing in this vid. I also play a bit, I own a Marine Band Low F. Cheers.
Regarding chords -- those middle octave chords sound great when playing the intro to choo choo ch-boogie in second position. You get the sixths and everything. Very nice demo of that capaibility here by the way
I was pondering to buy a C harp because I bought E by mistake since I was thinking about guitars, but after seeing this I think I'l stick to it. can't bend though, still haven't figured it out. any kind of hint about getting to do the trick right? I've seen things explaining but none has made any results yet. thnx
Intriguing "sus" chord sound, good example at 1:39. Still I'm leery of alternative tunings like this at least for now, until I get my single note playing where I want it (which is all over the harp, with all bends in tune, etc.). I figure: own all the modes and scales, start to at least get a handle on overblows, then maybe think about alternative tunings. But the "sus" chords here do sound cool, I'll admit.
That was simply awesome Richard. Powerbender tuning seems really interesting but it don't come with your swing, style and talent, unfortunately!!!! Truly superb.
No overblows! I have found that overblows are easier to do on this harp, cause they tend to follow a draw note in the same hole for most of the licks that I play.... so I am not hitting them "cold" This harp makes me want to find more time to practice.....
WOW that was excellent Richard. I have ordered the book and I have tuned up a harp as well. I hope I can sound one tenth of gnats eyebrow as good as this. Take care, Bruce

Hey Richard, are you playing any of the overblows or is it all using the bends?
Thanks for uploading!

I see that's a Marine Band your playing. Did you re-tune it to the Powerbender tuning?
